SUTURE REMOVAL
Threetimesacharm replied to rmeofone's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went to Mexico also and you won't have sutures or staples. Your incisions will either be taped or glued. No worries. Call your coordinator if you are worried and they should be able to inform you. -
if it "slides," why do the calories stay long enough to
Threetimesacharm replied to SaraLaughs's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
LOL too funny! that would be great but the food still makes it's way through your body which in turn absorbs the calories from it. -
Surgen called back about constipation problem.. now im nervous!
Threetimesacharm replied to princesstia's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well it does sound like he is overreacting but alot of us have constipation problems after surgery. I take a dose of miralax everyday or I will have an issue also. Did you try milk of magnesia? Mix some up in water, to dilute it so that you can drink it. This will definitely produce a bowel movement. Stay close to the restroom though, it normally worked for me in a couple of hours. Try adding the miralax to your daily shake if you are at this stage yet. Good Luck. -

Lapband to sleeve weight loss
Threetimesacharm replied to freespirit63's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Sounds like you need an acid reducer. Try it and see if it helps, I did and it made a world of difference, the "hunger" went away. -

10 weeks out and I should know better! Geez.
Threetimesacharm replied to Strangefruit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am sorry that you have to go through this. I have never slimed or thrown up. I am 16 weeks. You need to focus only on eating when you are at work: no talking, no reading. I would think that once would be enough. Good Luck. -

fell off the wagon!
Threetimesacharm replied to SleeveShelly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 16 weeks out just Monday. I was a junkfood aholic. I just don't keep it in the house, remove all junk from your house. When I grocery shop I stay away from it. I have not had ANY junk since surgery and really I don't need it. I love eating my protein, little veggie and sometimes yogurt. You can do this!!! -
GETTING SLEEVED AFTER A TUMMY TUCK
Threetimesacharm replied to sobiato's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes I did. The tummy tuck scar is no where near where they open you for the sleeve(laproscopically). No worries -
Am I a good candidate for Band to Sleeve Revision?
Threetimesacharm replied to VSG Tommy B's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I am not sure if I can answer any of your questions but here is a little bit about my situation: I had the lapband for 5 years Could not eat yogurt, fruit, beef, raw veggies, many cooked veggies, sometimes chicken sometimes not, same with fish. lost 60 pounds and did keep it off for the 5 years realized that I really couldn't keep the band in my body for ever even though I had adjusted my lifestyle to it: eating slider foods, eating more at night found this website and 6 weeks later I had the revision Now I was self pay and decided to go to Mexico. Do some research. You will find that Mexican surgeons are way more experienced than those in the U.S. and take many precautions(three leak tests). The price is very reasonable and my surgeon Dr Garcia was an amazingly skilled surgeon. I will tell you know that it was the best thing that I could have done for myself. I am now 14 pounds form goal(16 weeks out) and feel like a new person. You will not regret going for a revision. It also was done in one surgery so I did not have to endure two of them. Please PM me if you require any further information. Best of Luck Happy New Year! -
How do u convince ur doct that ur happy w the size u r?
Threetimesacharm commented on NIKIMAC's blog entry in NIKIMAC's Blog
I am with you on this one. My goal weight is also still considered overweight on the BMI chart. I believe that these charts are just a guideline. I still want to lose 14 more pounds and right now am a size 12. I don't have alot of fat on my body and will/am looking quite slim. Go with your gut, you are the one that will have to maintain your weight not the doctor. Prove to him that you can maintain and I will bet he will be happy. -

What a great feeling!! Congratulations on your success!! -
are there any sleevers here who have had leaks from cheating on their post op diets?
Threetimesacharm replied to leeann71's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Totally disagree , it should not be common at all. I have not thrown up once or overate. I believe that the majority can and do listen to their bodies and when they are satiated they stop eating. -
Job interview and no clothes!
Threetimesacharm replied to mezanne1401's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Please take all of the advice offered here. Do NOT say that you are sick, and most definitely shake everyone's hand. So what if you are sick, they might be too but you should never state the obvious. Pin your blouse in the back if it is too big and put a belt around your blazer. You need to remain professional at all times to secure this position. Take it from those of us with alot of expereince being interviewed or the interviewer........................Good Luck!! -
New guy here, you've GOT to read this!
Threetimesacharm replied to BigFrank's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thank you OP for sharing your story. This is what the surgery is all about. Being ready for it, following the program and being positive. The poster that starts with an "I" I beleive is the most negative one on here. She is not happy that she had her surgery and I think wants everyone who reads any of her posts to know it . I wish that she would just accept the fact what happened and get on with her lovely new life!! Anyway I truly wish you all the best and don't stay away, take ALL of the posts with a grain of salt. Happy New Year!! -
What do I tell my clients?
Threetimesacharm replied to paula512's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Well it really is none of their business. If you don't want to tell them don't; if you do, then tell them. -

Who's going to have this done soon?
Threetimesacharm replied to bramptonian's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes I had the surgery on September 10th with Dr Garcia, fabulous surgeon. I will be flying out to Tijuana via Detroit on January 9th, is this too early for you? You really will be meeting others at the hotel and at the hospital having the surgery no worries. If you would like to private message me I can give you my phone number and I can answer any questions you may have. Happy New Year!!! -
To the OP: I am so totally with you on this. I can not understand how anyone can have this surgery and post some of the things I read: I am starving I can't take another day of mushies I ate ______ fill in the blank with a mirade of inappropriate foods. How will they ever be successful without any self control? Why did they get the surgery in the first place? It is NOT a magic pill it is a life changing surgery that includes a permanent change to their eating habits and probably what they eat too. I don't think they deserve a pat on the back it's okay, I do think they need a good hard kick in the A**!!!!

Who's going to have this done soon?
Threetimesacharm replied to bramptonian's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am going to guess you are in Brampton Ontario? I am from Canada also I think it will be hard to find someone from here to "go" with. You will have help while there from your coordinators. Remember other patients are in the same boat as you are. Believe me you really won't need much help. -

Threetimesacharm replied to bramptonian's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Where are you travelling too? I went to Mexico by myself and it is very fine. There are lots of patients there alone. You are not that incapacitated that you can't get your water, liquids, popsicles. Best wishes to you. -
