Shocked by other Patients Choices immediatly after surgery
Threetimesacharm replied to zoekids's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Mary I had the same experience when I was at the Marriot in September. One lady buying a bag of chocolate bars, another eating a creamy ice cream on a stick. I think that these people are clueless and it is sad that they have spent all this money and probably won't be successful. To the poster who said "who cares". These will be the people who come on here and ask stupid questions and wonder why they get such negative responses. They then blame the sleeve for not working. -
How do you deal with the cravings?
Threetimesacharm replied to roiansmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sounds to me like you are mourning the loss of all the foods you can't have and thinking also of new ones. Hang in there and keep yourself busy, eat high Protein and limit your carbs as much as you can at this stage. -
Certain Uncertainty
Threetimesacharm replied to devichan's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thank you for sharing your life's journey. Please know that this will be one of the best decisions, getting the VSG surgery that you will make. I had many of your ailments and I now feel like a new woman, a thin woman, a woman who is active and very mobile. I love every minute of it and wouldn't change my decision for a second. Good Luck in your journey and keep us posted on your progress. -
dr fenando garcia
Threetimesacharm replied to lotti's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I had surgery on September 10, 2012 with Dr Garcia. All I can say is that he is an amazingly skilled surgeon. I also had my lapband removed at the same time. I had a great recovery and to date have lost 71 pounds and am only 6.8 pounds away from my goal weight. This is the best thing that I could have done for myself. I am living a "NEW" life. You can't go wrong if you go with Dr Garcia, he is wonderful!! -
I was shocked!

6 month appointment
Threetimesacharm replied to Fiddleman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good for you and your successes. I don't know about losing more weight. I still have a 27 BMI and have bones sticking out too. It is just a number after all and it is about how you feel really. The BMI is based on height and weight it doesn't factor in bone size etc. The other thought is to reach the doctors goal, to say that you did and if you feel/look too thin you can always put a little back on. How about building more muscle as it weighs more than fat that might help your overall look. Congratulations again. -

Happy Belated Birthday Aquarius!!! Best wishes today for a flawless surgery and recovery. -
a little discouraged after information meeting
Threetimesacharm replied to docbree's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Okay so I say go with your gut. If you really don't like the surgeon go find another. Though in my experience most of them are this way. As far as the wrinkly skin goes, I have alot of wrinkly, sagging skin and I would have this anyday over being fat; clothes work wonders!! -
Does everyone vomit post-op?

10 years banded, not sure what to do.
Threetimesacharm replied to MelissaGG's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am a revisionista, had my band remove and sleeve done on September 10, 2012. It was the absolute best decision I could have made. I had my band for 5 years kept off 60 pounds but knew that I could not keep the band forever. The sleeve is soooo much better in 4 months I lost 60 pounds, I really am at my goal weight, maybe a few more pounds we'll see. You can eat way more foods with the sleeve, nothing gets stuck, you can eat chicken, life is wonderful!! Good Luck in your decision, I guarantee you won't be disappointed. -

All the best you'll do great!! -
How brave of you! Life is about taking risks, if you don't take any you will never know "what could have been". Hope you have a great time on your date.

Confused between joining a weightloss center and getting WLS
Threetimesacharm replied to christy38's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I think most of your responses here will be pro WLS. I know for me I would never be able to keep the weight off on my own; I have lost over 100 pounds twice only to gain the weight back. I say go to both appointments and you will know which is right for you. Good Luck -
I'm. 4 week in and I going down the wrong path?
Threetimesacharm replied to miiszsexy171's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
So if your NUT said no rice; you are eating rice. At this point I guess you will decide what you want to do. Are you looking for validation here to say it is okay to eat rice? I think you should listen to the professionals, of which we are not. Good Luck -
Has anyone seen Dr Pantoja in tijuanna ?
Threetimesacharm replied to sonjakp's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I just had my arm lift with Dr Salas on January 10. The shape of my arm so far is fantastic and the majority of my scar is a fine line, I think the results will be fantastic. -
Help! I swallowed my gum!
Threetimesacharm replied to boatdays's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Be careful, I am not sure that we should be having gum. It gets the stomach juices going or something like that. Try to stay away from it. -
Yes I believe that ham and cheese was on my soft food list. Just make sure to chew very well and try to get some thinly sliced ham I find it easier to chew/digest.

Why do so many struggle with the band
Threetimesacharm replied to Fiddleman's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
Being a revisionista myself, I can say that VSG is totally different than the band. Saying that you can eat the wrong foods with either is correct my the limit I have with the VSG is always in the forefront when I decide what to eat. I am not a veteran quiet yet but have all the confidence that I will be very successful with the VSG. I can eat all foods with the VSG with the band was reduced to the slider foods mostly. As we say you will always have to still work your sleeve. -

What to bring to Tijuana?!?
Threetimesacharm replied to UnzippingTheFatSuit's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
You don't need any protein powder or unjury; it will be all you can do to sip your water and have the delicious Marriot chicken broth. Make sure to bring warm clothes; it can be very chilly in Tijuana at this time of year. I was there on the 10th and nearly froze!! -
Exercise is not going to tone your skin but improve your muscle underneath it. As others have said, your skin elasticity is genetic and age, race, babies all have a factor. I think if you have alot to lose you may have loose skin, it is inevitable. The good thing is when wearing clothes you will look fantastic! I now know why they have invented bathing suits with skirted bottoms; to hide my droopy thighs!!
