Has anyone tried the Tracy Anderson Method?
Threetimesacharm replied to Sassafras's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Well what is it? -
I would just ask my surgeon what size he uses. I don't think it matters a whole lot. I would think that there is more of a difference between the smallest(32F) and the largest I think(40F).

What are you guys eating ?
Threetimesacharm replied to ebonisekim's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Pureed is just that; pureed foods-cottage cheese, tuna, canned meats(chicken, tuna), egg. If you are on pureed you should also be able to have yogurt, strained cream soups, broths, thinned protein shakes. -

So many questions about Mexico
Threetimesacharm replied to Amberlydw8's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I would probably start by contacting one of the coordinating companies and go from there. I went with ready4achange and chose Dr Garcia. I had a revision done(lapband to sleeve) and he was an amazingly skilled surgeon who works out of MI Doctor hospital in Tijuana. www.ready4achange.com alma@ready4achange.com -
Sleeve holds too much food
Threetimesacharm replied to angelamarie79's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hard to believe that your NUT said you can eat 4 ounces. I am just over 5 months and still measure of 2 ounces of protein sometimes I have three. Eating too much is not good for many reasons but measuring food also teaches you how to eat right. Slow down, measure your food and "listen" to what your tummy is telling you. -
Does more restriction on liquids occur further out?
Threetimesacharm replied to mikeross's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Two words, "slow down". As others have said your stomach has just gone through a major trauma and is healing. Secondly by slowing down and being conscious of what you are doing is going to prepare you for your new eating style. No more gulps and when you get to your pureed stage small 1/4 teaspoon bites and eat slowly. Even though you can gulp be careful. Also contact your coordinator or Dr Velasco, I am sure that they will tell you the same. Best wishes -
Preparing for possible "yucky stuff" after surgery
Threetimesacharm replied to scsleever's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Your surgeon in Mexico will definitely give you pain meds. You will barely be able to drink your water and broth so I don't think you will need any other foods i.e. yogurt. Maybe some crystal light if you like for your water but for me right after surgery all of these sweet drinks I couldn't tolerate. My surgeon also gave me two bottles of gatorade. Meds in Mexico are also very inexpensive so depending on if you have to pay in the U.S. you may want to just by some there. I suggest to walk as soon as you can after surgery, I had no gas pain and my pain was minimal. I actually walked most of the night as I had slept all day waiting for my surgery time. Best wishes -
One more thing, the price includes overnight stay at his clinic with top notch care, meds, dressings and garments.

Sorry I forgot to add that yes he did lipo on my arms as well I am not sure if all doctors do lipo too. I also do not have any external stitches so no cross hatch marks like OP they are all under the skin.

I went to a plastic surgeon in Tijuana Mexico called Dr Salas. He has been in business for 22 years and I am very pleased with how my arms look 3/4 of the incision is already a pencil line just the underarm area is taking longer to heal. I wore my compression garment right through the draining process which lasted about 3 days, I put gauze pads on my arms to absorb it then put on the garment. It was gross but I think will aide in my arms healing nicely. I wear my garment 24/7 and my arms look fantastic!!

Is anyone going to the 2013 WLSFA Meet & Greet in Vegas?
Threetimesacharm replied to VSGKirk's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
That seems really interesting I had not heard of it. I guess you have to book your hotel room separately, do you know if they are giving participants a discount? -
No berries as others have said too many seeds.

Ladies, what can I do about my abs?
Threetimesacharm replied to nekaneek's topic in Fitness & Exercise
You have no control where the fat will come off your body and when. Your abs are far under your skin and fat and unless you have very toned and tight tummy now then it is not a time to worry about doing sit ups. I suggest walk, walk and walk. This is the best exercise to start with. -
American Airlines
Threetimesacharm replied to Tim H.'s topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
So absolutely get the wheel chair post surgery!! The airport is big, you can't lift your luggage and you also wont know how you will be feeling, don't be silly and do it yourself. I got the wheelchair, you sail right through and you don't have to lift your luggage. The wheelchairs have space under the arms so I think you will fit. As for the plane ride, if you can upgrade I would highly suggest it. The seats are wider and more comfortable. If you absolutely can not then try to get extra leg room seats, it will be much easier to get in and out of as there is not normally much room between the rows. Just think this will be the first and last time you will have to be flying as a fat person!! Best wishes -
Shocked by other Patients Choices immediatly after surgery
Threetimesacharm replied to zoekids's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
He probably ate his old way by stuffing it in as fast as he could and ignored the pain it caused. How terrifying is that. -
food question...just curious. looking for sleevers who been out of post-op 1 year +++ Men too thanks

Take this journey one day at a time and think in the present. Don't worry about what you can and can't eat in the future. Some can't have bread, rice or pasta while others can. Do you think you should be able to eat even a 6" sub at any time in the future? I sure hope not. You will probably be able to hold 6-8 ounces at one time, certainly not a 6" sub. So go slow measure all your food and eat slowly. Good Luck -
You can not compare your self to others. How much you have to lose is a big factor in how quick you will lose along with following your eating plan.
