My friend keeps calling me a "Cheater"
Threetimesacharm replied to lilstyler's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
She is so jealous and is not a supportive friend. She is jealous that you will become thin and georgous and she will still be eating all that food(that she is bragging about). No worries, you will meet new, on board, friends to support you when you are successful and at your goal weight. No worries!! -
Revision surgery time/weight loss goals
Threetimesacharm replied to adoptmom2_3's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I spent 1.5 hours in surgery but I had an excellent, very experienced surgeon. I actually met my goal weight in less than 6 months and really can't be ahppier. -
A true testament to the sleeve.....
Threetimesacharm replied to lucky8mb1's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Sounds like you may be the one in the house who was eating all of the treats/goodies. Might be a good time just to get them out of the house for good and not buy them. The rest of your family will benefit from this too. -
Well, firstly you are not starving, those in third world countries are. You may have stomach acid that is making you feel hungry. Are you taking a PPI? If not you may want to try, I found that this helped. Also keep yourself busy so as to not be thinking about food(if you are) get some hobbies, go for a walk, anything to keep your mind off eating. Good Luck.

night gown or two piece pjs ?
Threetimesacharm replied to lotti's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Two piece pj's. Even at the hotel it is easier for your tummy and more comfortable I think. -

I don't recommend this but it works for me...
Threetimesacharm replied to buffythefatslayer's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not chewing is only temporary. Pull yourself up and take control of this journey you are on. You will have to make some sacrifices to be successful if only for a short time. Don't start into any bad habits so early on that will lead to others and eventually lack of success. -
Just decided to get the sleeve instead of the band...and SO happy....I think :)
Threetimesacharm replied to lyndeeboo's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am a revisionista, I had my surgery on September 10th 2012 and reached my goal weight on February 24th, 2013. It was absolutely the best decision I could have made. I had the band for 5 years and they certainly hiped it all up but for many it really does not work. I feel the premise of the sleeve makes more sense. I eat much better, have lots of restriction and have not vomited once. Good Luck to you. -

Dr. F. Garcia/Ready 4a Change
Threetimesacharm replied to Johnatwi's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
There are no stitiches per se: they are all under the skin. The incision sites heal up very nicely. -
How about a healthy high fiber/ low calorie cracker? I love the fiber rich bran crispbread with sunflower seeds. They have 50 calories for two, 3g protein, 5 g net carb with 7 g fiber. They are delicious with anything: peanut butter, laughing cow cheese the list can go on.

Sad and Seeking Words of Wisdom
Threetimesacharm replied to MaryC's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Just want to add that this surgery comes with a major lifestyle change. You should not be eating what you did pre-surgery and expecting the weight to miraculously fall off. There has to be a "diet change", better eating habits, in order to facilitate this. If you have obsessive thoughts etc, you clearly were not ready to being this life changing journey. Right now I beleive it is trouble in your head that is preventing you from being successful. Eating a starvation diet is not the way(as you put it). Most of us do eat low carb and I am sure that I will for the rest of my life. Good Luck to you. -
Sad and Seeking Words of Wisdom
Threetimesacharm replied to MaryC's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
To the OP: it is about what you are eating. The "cravings" are in your head. No matter how small your stomach is you need to get a handle on this part of it. Even if your stomach is a little bigger, don't know who your surgeon is you won't mention it, you are failing because of what you are chosing to eat not because the sleeve is failing you. BTW I had a BMI of 36, had Dr Garcia as a surgeon and he used a 32F bougie(to respond to amytug's post). You need to get back to the basics: record your food intake, weigh/measure all of your food, eat high protein low carb, maybe see a councellor to help you through the cravings. Why are you even around pizza and eating two pieces of it? I do feel sorry for you but please don't blame the sleeve or the surgeon. Take a hold and be responsible for your actions and get the junk out of your house. -
Congratulations!! I so know how you are feeling right now. Onederland is an amazing place to be!! You so deserve it!!

Dr. F. Garcia/Ready 4a Change
Threetimesacharm replied to Johnatwi's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Had surgery September 10th 2012 and reached my goal weight on February 24th I have lost 78.2 pounds. Dr Garcia is an amazingly skilled surgeon and I highly recommend him. They don't care for you at the hotel but do come to see you. I had no gas pains and was up walking all night right after surgery. The nurses too are great as well as the co-ordinators. They do three leak tests: one during surgery and two after. There is no ugly or bad only good.Don't worry you will be fine and on your way to the losers bench. -

Reached goal weight in 6 months less a day!
Threetimesacharm posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Here I am 6 months less a day and this morning I have reached my goal weight. My story is I had a revision on September 10, 2012 with Dr Fernando Garcia in Tijuana Mexico. Fabulous surgeon and the absolute best decision I could have made. I lost 60 pounds the first 4 months and now to date have lost 77.8 pounds. I would like to provide some information to help those who would like to read on. I followed my eatinfg plan to a "T" as I was serious about being a success and reaching my goal. 1. To those who say, "it is not a diet". It may well not be but here is the but: you need to change your eating habits; I have read so many posts from those who still continue to chose poorly as in high calorie, non-nutrient dense foods. Most recently the post from the Gal 4 weeks out eating garlic bread with cheese and dipping sauce. Put yourself first and make sure you put some thought into your food choices first. 2. Make the most of your first 6 months. I really can only eat a couple ounces more at this stage but it maybe that going forward this will change. You have come into this for weight loss so again make the most of this time. 3. As for what you eat go low carb high protein. You can incorporate more fruit possibly healthy grains as time goes on. Initially you are learning new eating habits so in 6 months you will be able to chose healthy nutrient dense carbs that make sense. I have not consumed bread, rice or pasta and am not sure if or when I will. I make sure that what I eat is really beneficial for me as I can only consume so little. Protein, little veggie is my diet including yogurt. 4. Mix up your caloric intake every few days; I found that this really helped to keep my weight loss moving and my success. So statically I am 5' 10", weight 180 pounds, wear a size 8-10 and a medium size top. Size normal here I am and loving it!!!!!- 18 replies

Had. 4 saltines...ugh
Threetimesacharm replied to Gin1120's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Why at two weeks out would you even think of having 4 saltines, or one? This surgery is a big committment, don't do something that may harm your new tummy. I am sure that a leak is no fun. -
What is your biggest fear after surgery?
