All Right All You Sleevers. I Need Your Brains!

What have you been eating to lose your 78 pounds? Congratulations on this by the way. You have had to be eating something for breakfast.

1 Year and 8 months out - No longer losing.

Firstly I would like to congratulate you on your successful weight loss and maintainance. I appreciate your honesty and I read that you understand that your late night snacking is probably the culprit. How about eating more solid food during the day, you may feel more satisfied and less likely to snack. I know that it is hard but make a strong committment to do something else at night; walk, shop, read, clean, watch TV, whatever it is keep busy. Clean out your closest of all your fat clothes might keep you determined. How about getting a supporter to email you daily and you can share how you did; tough love only though, they need to keep you on track(and vice versa). You can do this!!!! Summer is just around the corner and so are bikini's!!!

    I Gave In ????

Please do not eat this at 4 days out. Do you have a NUT or surgeon you can contact. At 6 days out you should still be on full liquids. Follow your eating plan and do your self a favour and don't stray from it. You could do yourself harm if you do. No broccoli soup either, you can't have broccoli yet.

    Frozen Yogurt Six days out?

OMG how sad, yes it CAN kill you!! Unbelieveable that you had major stomach removing surgery and you would do this, unbelievable!!

    Frozen Yogurt Six days out?

You are welcome. Secondly I stated when you are on pureed have the greek yogurt. Wow I certainly wish you all the best...................................
  6. The gallbladder is an organ that you can live without and for many will develop gallstones because of dieting. I would definitely get it out at the same time, save you another surgery going forward.

When can we stop being fearful of leaks?

You should have received an extensive food guide/list when you left the hospital from Dr Garcia, maybe you should read it. Many on this site are NOT experts and may give you wrong advice.

    catheter?

No I didn't; I think they want you up and moving and using the rest room.

    Sleeve: The UNTOLD Story

To the Op: not sure what the purpose of your post is. You say that you are happy with the outcome so why the negative, all be it complaining post. Do you know why you were waiting? Maybe they were very busy and you were not number one on the surgery list. Maybe you were complaining to them so they made you wait, you know the analogy about getting more with honey. The poop and pee thing; not everyone has this, why would they have to tell you this if it doesn't happen to you, what were you eating? I had Dr Garcia also and he was an amazingly skilled surgeon. I was polite and kind to the nurses and got the same back in return. Sheesh to you .
  10. To the OP: what a thing to brag about, Dr Garcia would be disappointed.

Who wants to see my stomach?

Yes that is the part they cut out. They test for leaks because if this part has a leak then in all probabilty the part still left inside does too.

Who wants to see my stomach?

OMG OMG OMG I know that is filled with saline or air but it is huge!! This is why we were all so fat!!
  13. I think the answers are quite obvious: portion control high calorie snack foods, chips, cookies, cake, sweets, too many carbs: bread, pasta, rice lack of exercise grazing liquid calories: milk shakes, chocolate, alcohol the list can go on we all know what not to do.

    Confused

Sounds to me like you are right on track. I never eat 900 calories, I average 700-800 daily and exercise from 1-1 1/2 hours per day. You may have an electrolyte or vitamin imbalance. I would get this checked out, do you take vitamins, B12, calcium, iron?

Cant sleep can i take benadryl?

Yes I took two pills after surgery: pain meds and anti-biotic which were quite large. Should be no problem.

    low fat cream soup?

I wouldn't be worrying about fat content. Actually during my entire weight loss I have not counted/looked at fat content. We eat so little it will not have a detremental effect at all. I have lost and met my goal weight: 78.2 pounds in less than 6 months. Go full fat!!

    Those Darn Girl Scouts Cookies

Oh good for you, way to go!! You don't need those cookies I bet they taste horrid! Shame on your husband, tell him to go lock them up in his trunk or take them to work for his mates.
  18. Don't worry about eating more. At just over 6 months I still weigh 2 ounces of protein and have maybe if I can 1/4 cup of veggies. Just worry about getting in your protein requirement each day.

    Frozen Yogurt Six days out?

Not sure what kind of response you are looking for but here goes: are you kidding me? Frozen yogurt full of sugar no nutrient value. You do want to lose weight right? I bet that you did not pay for your surgery.........Wait until you can have pureed foods and enjoy some great greek yogurt full of protein and goodness. Good Luck to you.

HELP! NEED MORE CALORIES IN MY DIET

If you had your surgery on the 12th of September you are actually over 6 months out( I had mine on the 10th). Don't worry about eating more, I eat 700-800 calories a day and at that am quite full. I don't worry about eating more, at some point it may come but am very happy to be eating this much. Good Luck

My Skin - Pictures speak a thousand words.

Thank you for candidly sharing your pics. I feel your pain and each of us knows to what extent we will go to be "comfortable in our own skin". I too have had many PS's and have the scars to prove it but I would do it all over in a hearbeat.

    Dr. F. Garcia/Ready 4a Change

My drain was lower left hip area and I did not feel it at all. I also did not feel it when they took it out either.

    eating solids too soon.

Nto sure what your surgeon says but you shouldn't be eating solid food at 3 weeks. At this point I was on pureed. Don't risk harm to your tummy healing, stick with your pureed at this stage.
  24. Threetimesacharm

Count net carbs or actual carbs?

Net carbs, fiber is very important in our diet so if you are consuming some fantastic!

    slimy piece of #$@%

How much of the cheese did you eat? Did you weight/measure it? At 4 weeks out, and still do at 6 months, weigh and measure everything I eat. BTW 600 calories is alot for 4 weeks out. I only recently am able to eat between 700-800 calories. Don't rush it; drink your shakes and eat what protein you can. Make the most of this weight loss phase to optimize your weight loss. Good Luck.
