  1. Tom, the absolute best decision I could have made. Had my revision on September 10, 2012 after having the band for 5 years. We are all "virgin" sleevers and I lost my weight in a timely fashion: first 60 pounds in 4 months and reached my goal weight one day shy of 6 months. At 6.5 months now I have exceeded my goal weight and have lost a total of 80.4 pounds. You will know when you are full you literally can not eat another bite. I have had no vomiting, no sliming. I learned to eat slow and small amounts with the band so I think the transition was much easier than for someone who never had the band. I can eat all foods now(that I have tried) not like with the band. I am incredibly happy about my success and never thought I would meet this goal weight. The sleeve is miraculous. You will be amazed at how easy it will be to reach your goal weight that you have set out for yourself. You do have to follow your eating plan and eat right though for success. So many members here do NOT and then wonder why they don't lose or are gaining weight. Be smart about it and you will be successful. Good Luck!

    To much protein?

100 grams is definitely not too much. I agree that as you are exercising your body is changing and may hold on to some weight; drink your water, switch up your caloric intake and I bet you will see the scale move again.

Inner thigh lift and tummy tuck

The price in Mexico will be your best bet. The circumferential lift would lift you all around and the best for tummy, butt and outer thigh. You may still need to get an inner thigh lift too. I recently had some PS in mexico, wouldn't recommend my surgeon but I have heard from a patient of Dr Fuentes that he did very good work.

    still vomiting 10 months out

How about trying tuna, canned meats(turkey/chicken/ham), soft fish, cottage cheese, ground meats. Try these with mayo, gravy or sauces. It will make them all easier to go down. eat slow small bites. Good Luck!
  6. Just because your stomach is making noises does not mean it is hungry. It has just gone through major surgery and trauma. It is in the healing stage and will act strangely than it has before.

how much can you take in?

You may also be eating too fast, to big of a spoonful; use small spoons and take small sips of soup.

Best high protuen foods to eat

To the OP: cottage cheese, cheese strings, tuna, haddock, salmon(any fish really is very high in protein), turkey(higher in protein than chicken), turkey/chicken luncheon meat, eggs, morningstar farms products, babybel, nuts(pistachios, almonds, sunflower seeds).

What is correct for me? Need advice

At 5'9" 160 pounds this seems just right. 1200 calories is low enough to continue to lose weight. If you can try to stay at this caloric intake(or of course more). Glad that you are on the road to recovery.

    Hungry

At four days out I was still on a clear liquid diet and continued until day 7. Be careful having noodles at this point, your stomach is not ready for it. Have diluted sugar free apple juice. Keep sipping your water and keep yourself busy. Your stomach has been through major trauma so it actually is not producing hunger signals; unfortunately it is all in your head.

    Daily caloric intake

normally yes, but your stomach size isn't. I don't know how you can fit in so many calories, do you do alot of protein shakes?

afraid of excess skin. any tips?

The thing is if you have alot of weight to lose, and poor skin elasticity you WILL have loose skin; there will be not much you can do about it. Working your muscles helps how the skin will look over the muscle but to a point. Would you rather be obese and possibly sickly or thin with some loose skin; I chose the later in a heartbeat!!
  13. You will find that many are very successful with the sleeve. Since 85% of your stomach is removed it will be very hard to eat significant amounts of food to regain hense success. I agree to go the sleeve route first then convert if you have too. On the other hand if you have a significant amount to lose you may consider the bypass as it is said to be for those with a higher BMI.
  14. Great job Joe!! Glad to hear that you are doing so well. I was the same, walking right away, no gas no real pain, how wonderful!!
  15. yes many use alighterme or ready4achange to co-ordinate their surgeries. I had mine with Dr Garcia in Tijuana Mexico co-ordinated by ready4achange.

    Question about flour

Yes the lemony chicken sounds good, I wouldn't have the pasta either.

Progress, found a new way to get protein in (for me that is)

That sounds really delicious. I make mine vice versa; protein mix, add soy milk, add teaspoon of instant coffee granules. Delish!!

    Adding eggs to tuna

Sure if you are on pureed you need to puree it in your food processor. Don't worry about the low fat this or that I never use low fat.

    Confused about meals

Your weight loss will flucuate. You lost alot right away so don't panic. I do have 5-6 small meals a day. If I have a protein shake I don't have yogurt too, that would be way too much food all at once. Split up your foods to have your 6 small meals and don't worry the weight will come off.

    Lost More Than The Weight

I agree salvation army is also great. I have donated over 20 bags of clothes there myself. I know the feeling of being a new me, I use to be a tight 18 now I am a 6-8 in clothes. I have absolutely never in my life been this small, except on my way up of course. I have no clothes that fit, I have to buy all new. This is alot of fun but expensive. I think it takes time to get used to our new selves, just give it time.

Protein Bars - give me your suggestions!

Not sure how far out you are but I have found the Kellogg's high fiber/protein bars just in the grocery store. They have 10 grams protein, 7 grams fiber!! They are mostly nuts so I tend to have them as a snack and they are delicious!!

    Eating to fast?

I certainly wish you the best. Could it have been terrible gas still left? I know that at 5 days out I was still on clear liquids. Is cottage cheese, pudding and yogurt aloud now for you? Even if it is, you may want to stick with clear/full liquids for a while longer. I know for myself I did not progress to the next stage until I felt my body was ready and sometimes it was a couple more days. I know it can be tough but this is the hardest part the different stages. Grab a hold and stick to the plan, it will help you to be a success. On a side note: I have reached my goal and without even trying I lost 1.2 pounds this week! This is how great the sleeve is!!
