Something horrible happened last night...
Threetimesacharm replied to bee13's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Bee I went to Mexico. Very safe I had no complications, no nausea, no gas, no real pain. I was there in September 2012 and have now reached my goal weight and am so very happy that I did this for myself. Don't let them talk you out of it; you will regret it. If you/they want to talk to me please PM me. All the best -

After the first 6 - 12 monthsAre there foods that are difficult to digest after the sleeve surgery
Threetimesacharm replied to natasha88's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Sounds like you had the lapband? There are many posts on here that speak towards those that have had the revision to sleeve and I am sure that you will gain alot of insight from them. I had a revision last September and the VSG is nothing like the lapband. I am 6.5 months out and eat anything I try, food does not get stuck, I have never vomited and have surpassed my goal weight loss. I can eat veggies, chicken, yogurt things that I couldn't with the band. I have yet to try beef but I am sure that I could. Absolutely the best decision I could have made to get the band removed. -

Concerned about iron sleeve
Threetimesacharm replied to Pepper Paul's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
To the OP, the goal is not to feel full but satisfied. This is a new eating experience for most. I had the band for 5 years before the sleeve so I learned this feeling and also ate slow and small amounts. It is better to have 6 small meals than three larger ones in my opinion. How about trying eating some more solid, soft food. Cottage cheese, scrambled eggs, soft fishes, canned meats, yogurt. I also ate very low carb for the majority of my weight loss. I ate protein and incorporated some veggies closer to 3-4 months out. Carbs do make you hungry, I would try to stay away from any fruit you may be eating. -
Hard to imagine being thin
Threetimesacharm replied to bringiton's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Here is the thing, it really sneaks up on you. I have reached my goal weight, actually exceeded it by 5 pounds. The last time in my life that I weighed so little was on my way up the scale. It really is different, strange, awesome, wonderful, to feel your ribs in your back, be able to actually reach around and scratch your back(actually did this today and thought; when was the last time I could do that!!). I guess with each day it will get easier to accept and realize how thin we have become. All I can say is enjoy the ride because it is spectacular!! -
Think I need liquids again ......for a week r so
Threetimesacharm replied to LHT's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 6.5 months and my stomach still makes noises. It is not hungry just dijestive noises. Make sure you eat slow, small bites, measure your food portions. You really have to change the way you eat. Use baby size utensils and put your fork/spoon down after every bite, you can do it!! -
I am such a nut! I did not know ....
Threetimesacharm replied to Food_vs_Life's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes pudding would be on your full liquid but not on clear liquid as you can't see through it. -
Ate one slice of 7" pizza frm dominos! :)
Threetimesacharm replied to Plushie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just because someone else does it, doesn't make it the right thing to do. Maybe just eat the topping, or stop and think things through before you do. I just realized you are 4 weeks out. Don't do it yet, wait at least until 8 weeks, hopefully the desire will pass. -
Percentage of excess weight lost
Threetimesacharm replied to timbluejim's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories

Percentage of excess weight lost
Threetimesacharm replied to timbluejim's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
If they are saying 125 pounds is your goal weight than this would be 100% lost. If it was 60% then you would have to be weighing under 100 pounds which would not be right. Now 125 pounds seems very low or the lowest for someone 5'5". -
Percentage of excess weight lost
Threetimesacharm replied to timbluejim's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I have lost more than 100% of my excess weight. Not sure how to do the calculations but I have lost 5 pounds more than my goal so guessing 102%. -
why did I eat that pecan roll?
Threetimesacharm replied to SleeveShelly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey Sleeveshelly, I had my surgery on September 10 two days before you. Now I am sure that you got 85% of your stomach removed to be successful and reach your goal weight. That pecan roll will NOT help you get there. As the other poster said, get that crap out of your house, go back to eating low carb/high protein, track your intake and drink your water. As time goes on you will be able to eat more and it WILL be harder to lose the weight. Don't you want to be a success now? I know that you can do this, you have already lost some weight, great job, but you have a way to go. Trust me when you reach your goal weight you will be able to have a pecan roll, just not everyday. Positive vibes I am sending your way, tomorrow is a new day, seize it by the horns and get a grip on your eating, you can do this!! -
Big Mac, Filet-O-Fish, Quarter Pounder, French Fries, Icy Coke, Milkshakes, Sundaes and Apple Pie!
Threetimesacharm replied to sexyjimenez's topic in Food and Nutrition
To the OP some tough love here. You need to pull up your big girl pants and stop this nonsense. Did you get 85% of your stomach removed to go and eat a BIG MAC? You have weight to lose and will NOT be successful by doing this. Join a support group if you need to. Call your NUT. Please get a grip and stop this sabotage. I truly wish you all the best and success, you can do this!!! -
Was able to eat 2 hard shell tacos today... Is that considered a lot?
Threetimesacharm replied to mikeross's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
To the OP, yes at two months out two tacos, from wherever are too many. At two months I wouldn't even be trying to eat one. It's a slippery slope Mike, you wife doesn't need to be eating this crap food either, so tell her to keep it away from you. -
how long after VSG can you have plastics done and does medicaid pay?
Threetimesacharm replied to Shaniceh01's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
If it hangs below your genital area, it should be covered. -

FIRST WEEK POST OP..WHAT CAN I HAVE?
Threetimesacharm replied to dat_sweetmami's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You are kidding about the ice cream right? How about unsweetened, diluted apple juice, delish. Water with any flavourings. I was on clear liquids the first week and didn't go to full liquids until week two. -
Lapband to Sleeve in Mexico.... Who did you use?
Threetimesacharm replied to stefaniwg's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I had my revision on September 10, 2012. I went to Dr Fernando Garcia, an amazingly skilled surgeon in my opinion. There are many posts on here about him and he is well liked. I went through ready4achange and I do say that having the surgery was the best thing I could have done for myself. -
Can someone explain this to me...?
Threetimesacharm replied to Ro2x's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The more weight you have to lose the quicker you will lose; initially. Sometimes I see that those having to lose alot, say 100 pounds or more take longer to reach that goal or sometimes never do. I reached my goal weight in 6 months less a day and lost 77.8 pounds. So it is all kind of relative, based on how much you have to lose and by the looks of it, you don't have much to lose. -
Off post op restrictions, scared to eat regular!
Threetimesacharm replied to TexasMiss's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well by my calculations you are about three weeks out. At this point I was only starting pureed foods. If I were you I would stick to soft foods for a little longer. I didn't have raw veggies for months only cooked. Just go slow and be careful. I ate alot of cottage cheese, tuna, soft fish, ground meats, canned meats, cheese strings, yogurt, eggs. Pineapple I say would be a big no right now, very fibrous and chewy.
