Weired symptoms
Threetimesacharm replied to Losing weight's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well the surgery is a big change to your system. I know women go through big hormonal changes, maybe there is something like this for men too. Make sure you are getting enough rest, water and good nutrition. I wish you the best. -
What the heck is Full Liquids?
Threetimesacharm replied to ChristieK's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I find it hard to believe that your surgeon did not give you specific guidelines. What kind of surgeon did you have? Full liquids are those that are not clear; strained creamy soups, yogurt, pudding, shakes(thin), thinned cream of wheat. -
Can i eat this!
Threetimesacharm replied to newmallika's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 7 months out and have not had bread, no desire. I would definitely eat the egg and leave the bread to maximize your weight loss in the first 6 months. -

Dr Garcia SPIDER TECHNIQUE
Threetimesacharm replied to rollargirl's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Just wondering why you are choosing this method? Is it the scars you don't want? Dr Garcia has performed thousands of sleeve surgeries the traditional way and is an excellent surgeon. 100 belly button ones are not alot. The scars fade so light that you can barely see mine. -

So what has happened? Have you just given up? You can admit defeat if you chose defeat. You are not winning, you are riding down the sneeky side and not working your sleeve. Get back to your basics, get a "diet" buddy, join a diet group, pull up those big girl pants and get to it!!! I now that you can, summer is just about here and so are cute sundresses and bikinis!! Set some major goals for yourself and dive in, you CAN be successful!! -

Dr Ramos Kelly vs Dr Garcia, in Tijuana?
Threetimesacharm replied to MamaC's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Dr Fernando Garcia is an amazingly skilled surgeon and performed my flawless revision in September 2012. He also operates out of MI Doctor Hospital and I paid $5500.00 for my revision and an endoscopy. You will not be disappointed if you go with him. -
Anyone know of a cheap plastic surgeon in Tijuana? For BA & TT
Threetimesacharm commented on AZLatina's blog entry in AZLatina's Blog
There are alot of plastic surgeons in Tijuana. Dr Fuentes, Dr Cardenas, I hear are very good but not the cheapest. I went to Dr Salas and wouldn't recommend him although he is very inexpensive. -
2 wk post op- tried a boiled egg...my chest hurts after I swallow the food
Threetimesacharm replied to dat_sweetmami's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
try a pureed scrambled egg, trust me you need to puree it. Take very small bites and eat slowly. Try the yogurt again with this method. You may need to stay on full liquids a little longer, don't rush it. -
Massive appetite little restriction
Threetimesacharm replied to boobyholes's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Why are you even trying to eat whole chickens and brisket. Sounds like you are already reverting back to your old eating habits, please use your sleeve as the tool it is meant to be. -

Maybe you can post for us what, how much you eat at what times of the day. Then we may be able to help you tweek it. -
Massive appetite little restriction
Threetimesacharm replied to boobyholes's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The pain that you are feeling at the incision site "is your stomach". You are putting way too much in and the pain is stemming from that. Try eating less and stopping and waiting to see what happens, don't drink anything for half an hour after. Restriction for me is a feeling of being satisfied, not full or stuffed just satisfied. -

Okay rice, peas and fruit are not low carb. Maybe you should seek the advise of a nutritionist to help you understand food choices. -

Threetimesacharm replied to boobyholes's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Dear Booby, I think that you may be hiding some facts from us. You just admitted that you sometimes wash something down with a sip. How often do you do this? If you are taking small bites and eating slowly you wouldn't need to "wash" anything down. If you have a properly made sleeve I find it impossible for you to eat 1 cup of food at 5 weeks out. I would have never attempted to eat steak at 5 weeks either. You can't possibly be "starving" an hour after eating. Just because your stomach is making noises does not mean that it is hungry; it is in healing phase, mine made gurgling noises all the time. I truly believe that some of this "IS" in your head. Maybe you need double dose PPI. Find something else to do besides eat. Eat at regular scheduled times, small portions, 1/2 cup or less. Stick with protein to fill you up. -
I cannot believe what I'm doing...don't I get it?
Threetimesacharm replied to AdiosPlusSizes's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You can not physically eat more than 500-600 calories, your tummy is the size of a banana and at best in the beginning can only hold 2 ounces at at time. Doesn't sound to me like you did research before you had your sleeve surgery. Tell us how you will be consuming 1200 calories when you physically can not? -

Threetimesacharm replied to AdiosPlusSizes's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't even be thinking of calories until you are on solid foods. Eat protein, measure what you eat(tablespoons, 1/4 of a cup). You must realize the reason for the strict diet in the beginning: they have removed 85% of your stomach!!! Think of this the next time you have a "head craving" and go watch the sleeve videos on Youtube, this should stop you. How about reading about what a leak can/would do to you, hopefully this will be enough to get you back on track. You will need to change your eating for life, this surgery isn't a magical pill and if you are not careful all the weight you lost will come right back on. Good Luck. -
I didn't have nuts until month 6 also. I have no troubles digesting them.

Lapband to sleeve revision I'm nervous
Threetimesacharm replied to tlah's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
From what I remember I think I felt a little more tired with the sleeve. The day after I had my band surgery my condo complex caught fire so I had a rough time moving out for 30 days before I could move back in so I can't say that I was in real pain or anything. The sleeve though was a great transition for me: no gas pains, no real pain and it has been absolute smooth sailing right to reaching my goal weight. -
Will you lose weight even if you've failed at every diet known to man?
Threetimesacharm replied to extracat's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
One question is why did you fail? Ate too much, do you have any medical issues preventing you from losing weight? You will lose weight with the sleeve, but here's the BUT: you have to be ready for this surgery and a big change to your lifestyle. You need to follow the diet plan and try to get in some exercise. I have lost weight many times in the past but for me it is the keeping it off. Now with the sleeve I can only eat small amounts of food so it has helped me to maintain my weight loss. -

360 Body Lift /Circumferential Abdominoplasty
Threetimesacharm replied to laurasthinspiration's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I have had a TT, BL and arm lift. For me the pain was not that bad at all. I really think it depends on how you handle pain. I agree to not get all the body parts done at once. I suggest doing lower body stuff then upper body stuff. If you do both you wont be able to really move around at all and look after yourself. -
I also did protein shake for breakfast and lunch then for dinner 3-4 lean protein with a salad or veggie. I lost 9 pounds in 9 days and my liver was so small the Doc didn't need to make the extra hole for the "liver lifter". Yahoo!!
