Threetimesacharm replied to BWaltD's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I think that there are so many here from the medical profession specifically nurses is because there seems to be so many obese nurses! Just my observation -
Well it is what it is. Don't worry about that which you can't change. You did the right thing for you at the time......................

who is a great doctor in Mexico
Threetimesacharm replied to Malaika13's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Dr Fernando Garcia is an amazingly skilled surgeon and the best. He performed my revision and he was a superstar. Great price, 3 leak tests excellent aftercare. -
Kellogg's fiber plus protein bars have 10grams of protein and are really good. Kellogg's vector bars have 11 grams and are good too. Both have 170 calories and are not artificial tasting at all.

fear band to sleeve
Threetimesacharm replied to freespirit63's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Well in time with the sleeve you will be able to eat all the slider foods. This can cause you to gain weight. It is better than the band in that you will be able to eat chicken, fruits, yogurt or foods that you may not have been able to with the band. To be sleeved you will always have to have some form of self control or you will be able to gain weight back. -

Hard time with weight loss on the weekend
Threetimesacharm replied to O2BSkinny's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Now realistically, if you are following the SAME eating regimen on the weekend as you do during the week, it would be impossible for you to gain on the weekends. Come clean with yourself, write down what you are eating and drinking and you should then see WHY you are gaining on the weekends. -

Anyone feel wierd not having all the preop appts when going to mexico?
Threetimesacharm replied to cpeycke's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
When you go to Mexico your surgeon there is taking all the precautions needed to make your surgery a success. They do an EKG, bloodwork and I also had an endoscopy performed. I am very glad that I did have it done by the Mexican doctor as he was the one performing the surgery and he had the results at hand. I don't think they take the surgery lightly but also all the pre-op in the states is to hopefully help you be successful. In Mexico you have to have the self desire and knowledge to do it mostly on your own. -

I am sure you could stay in the continental United States and find a clan cut off from everyday society, how about Alabama or the Carolina's? -
Cream of Tomato Soup
Threetimesacharm replied to offigo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I ate tomato soup all the time in the beginning and made it with milk or soy milk for the protein, enjoy! -
I have taken miralax every day since my surgery last September. My doctor also said you can take it forever. Be careful with teas as they are harmful for the colon, not natural at all.

If you don't have to order now I would wait. Height and body composition play a big role in what size you will be wearing.

Approved for Oct.24th Band to Sleeve Revision
Threetimesacharm replied to Poorehouse's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I had my revision on September 10, 2012 and it was absolutely the best thing I could have done. I now weigh under 200 pounds, I bounce between 167-170, a place that I have not been since my teens. Did not get here with the band at all. I wish you all the best and you will do fantastic!! -

Been sleeved for almost 2 years
Threetimesacharm replied to BrownDoesAll's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Just wonder why you chose to stop losing at 255 pounds? You mentioned that your husband didn't want you to lose more; did you have the surgery for him or for you? -
4 months out and falling off wagon
Threetimesacharm replied to mamamareli's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
To the OP; I understand what you are going through. Those that have not walked in your shoes "yet" have no right to make such negative comments. This is definitely a life long journey it will never end. Pasta, I believe was created by the devil to make us fat. Maybe bread, muffins, cakes and cookies too! I wake up everyday and tell myself how wonderful I am and how far I have come and that I can do it! If I fall off my healthy eating wagon so what, I take a giant leap back on and say "yeh-ha" to the horses. You can do this, you have done great so far, "believe it, be it!! -
Things I will NOT miss about being fat.
Threetimesacharm replied to unbesleevable1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think my number 1 is : Being the fattest person in the room. It is so wonderful not to be the fattest! Kind of sounds awful but I feel so much better that there are fatter people than me out there!! -
When will this pass?
Threetimesacharm replied to calicojack42's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree relax and go with the flow!! Soon enough you will be eating solid food and ALL foods. 6 months to a year is a very small amount of time compared to the rest of your life. Enjoy this phase and the amazing weight loss that comes with it. -
The closer you get to a weight that you think might be a goal one, keep in mind how far you have come. You want to be at a weight that you can easily maintain and love the way you look at this weight. Don't get all wrapped around BMI and the like. If you get to 175 and love yourself there and can maintain it then go with it. We are not like regular people who just need to lose 20 pounds. 100+ pounds will be a major accomplishment. Now all that being said my original goal was 180 pounds but when I got their I revised to 170 which according to BMI is in the normal range for my height. I wish you the best, you will do it!!

I have had plastic surgery with three different surgeons and in my opinion the way your scars heal has a lot to do with the skill of the surgeon. I recently had an arm lift in January and the scars are noticeable pink and some of it white. Now, am I happy that I can fit my arms in any jacket or sweater absolutely would do it again in a heartbeat, it is the price you pay for having P.S.
