    Regrets: After 3+ years

At just about 14 months absolutely no regrets. I can eat everything I did before just smaller quantities. Why would I WANT to be able to eat copious amounts of food again? I too wish that this surgery was around and popular 20 years ago, how different my life might have been.
  2. Here is my .05 cent opinion. If the OP is only a few weeks out I question why she is even thinking about when she can have such foods as cake, chips and the like. As it has already been said here as time goes on it gets much easier to eat all of these slider foods and at times it is hard to stop at just two bites(for me anyway). You really need to have your head in the game especially in the beginning or you will never make it as I think Butter had eluded to. So can you have those foods; YES, should you; NO.

I haven't worn a MEDIUM since junior high!

Well I disagree, you should weigh more often. When you get into the maintenance phase it will be waaaay to easy to gain 5 pounds and not even know it. It is a good habit to get into to keep your weight in check. You don't want all of your hard work to go to waste(waist!!).

    Need help to gain weight

I just have a question for the OP: If you know that you can drink protein drinks and keep them down why have you not been doing so? How are M&M's nutritional when a protein drink loaded with vitamins and protein will help you to get your calories in for the day. Until you can get a resolve to this awful situation, keep your weight stable is of utmost importance so as not to affect your health. Sounds like you have two choices: get the bypass or vomit the rest of your life, sounds like a no brainer to me.

    Any food addicts here?

Oh I so totally agree with the posts here. The majority of fat people ARE food addicts and CARBS are from the devil!! I take it one day at a time and have never vomited. Slider foods I have to stay away from as it really is a slippery slope to get back on track. I love the new me and focus on my success everyday to stay motivated.
  7. I would go with high protein just don't eat it every day.

Going to florida in two months

RTD protein drinks, pull top or bagged tuna
  9. To the OP: you look absolutely amazing and congratulations for your success!! Would it be so terrible to be at 166 pounds for your goal? You really look great and maybe just to focus on your other health issues right now can help you to get better and then look to(if necessary) lose more weight.

I can't get my protein in...

You are only 4 days out, I was still on clear liquids at this point. Don't force yourself, try milk, soymilk, very liquidy foods. The most important thing right now is not to get dehydrated.

3 weeks post-op: Pizza and Pasta?!

3 weeks out!! Yikes!! You can seriously hurt/damage your stomach. You really need to get in focus and remember why you got this surgery. If you don't do so now, you will NOT be successful. This surgery requires you to change your eating/exercising habits for life...................there is no turning back now, maybe a psychologist would help. Good Luck to you.
  12. Pros: losing all excess weight and keeping it off, being normal weight, more energy, healthy, sexy, living a longer life. Cons: You have to make sure that you are committed to make a permanent life change. Exercise, eating the right foods in small quantities. It is not easy but the rewards are tremendous!!

Gentlemen... Please advise me! Re: Cheating

No longer in love with him, can not trust him, you want out! Why are you even asking?
  14. If you are in Canada try ordering online from low carb grocery. They have a really good low carb protein shake that I would mix with soy milk with high protein and it was delicious. Make sure you are not trying to drink one shake all at one time. I would drink 4 ounces, slowly at one time and then a couple hours later have the rest. At 4 weeks I wasn't eating solid food only pureed soft food don't rush the process.

    Bread products

Personally the only bread products I eat are tortillas, others are just too dense and heavy in my stomach.

    Help! 4 month Plateau !

I totally agree with drinking lots of water. Now personally I have never lost weight eating 1500 calories this sounds like a lot. I currently am drinking a lot of water, also doing no fat(which I have been against in the past) and keep my calories around 1000-1200 and it is working. My water consumption is more than 96 ounces a day.
  19. I have recently read a book called the Dukan diet, created by a French doctor. It has 4 phases, no fat and also low carb. It may really help you get back on tract as the first 2-7 days is protein only(our friend). It also has some great low fat, low carb recipes in the back.

Why aren't I happy with the weight loss?

Yup, stretchy pants will do it!! I can have a 20 pound difference and still wear the same stretchy pants. Go to goodwill and pick up some regular pants you will then for sure notice the clothes getting looser on you. It will also be nice to see that you are obviously in a much smaller size!

    Hunger pangs? Really?

You are only 5 days out and your stomach has endured major trauma. It is not hungry but healing. You may also have acid and may need to take an reducer as you will be surprised how this helps. You also shouldn't be having pain when you eat. Are you eating too much at once? What is a bowl of soup? You should measure out 2 ounces at first and then if you feel you can/should eat more measure out another 2 ounces.

    My stomach talks to me!

I am 13 months out and I still burp and my tummy still makes noises, after I have eaten it is like you can hear it gurgling digesting food.

omit the fruit and the milk to reduce carbs and use only low carb protein powder as some are very high in carbs.
