Revision?
Threetimesacharm replied to prettyMe2716's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
You have yet to tell us how much you have gained; 1 pound, 2 pounds, 3 pounds? It sounds like you are in a stall; me too for 8 days now, I have heard some who it lasts for a month or more. we just have to keep on doing things right and the scale will start moving again!! (I tell myself this everyday) Don't give up, it's too soon for that -
Considering a re-sleeve in the new year
Threetimesacharm replied to Shells_Almost_There's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
I think one of the first steps should be to get an endosocopy to see just how big your stomach is. Stomach sizes vary depending on the surgeon so this should be your first place to start. If it is indeed to large; consider revision. I revised from sleeve to gastric bypass and I am very glad with my decision. One other poster commented on the 15 pound gain; if I am correct you currently weigh 240 pounds at 5' 4". It does seem like you have alot more than 15 pounds to lose. I think revision is a great idea; yes it is just a tool but sometimes it is that extra push you need to get the rest of your weight off and stay there. -
I don't have problems with vomiting however when I am tired or stressed I have a very hard time eating. So my physical state plays into how I can eat. Oh I am 9 weeks out.

Why after almost 3 months am i still puking and nauseas and can't eat much without feeling like vomiting?
Threetimesacharm replied to bigbadbabe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
We need more information; what are you eating, how much, how often? have you spoken with your surgeon? He might be the best one to ask. -

Success due to Gym Addict
Threetimesacharm replied to ShareeB's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Weight loss is 80% what you are eating and 20% exercise. So unless you are eating alot or exercising alot you should be able to lose weight with little exercise. It also depends what you are doing in the gym; cardio or weights. -

Decide not to have surgery?
Threetimesacharm replied to MarciaN's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My first thought to your post is Wow find another surgeon!! If they couldn't intubate you sounds like they are not very good at their craft. don't give up yet on surgery; it really is life changing and rewarding. -
thanks the OP must be cooking for an army!!
-
I think they are also known as "Oopsie" rolls. Thanks for the great directions I may give it a try too.

I am just over 6 weeks out and have twice had minor gains where I did not lose. I then dropped the weight and am continuing on a downward treck. I don't know how you have the energy to exercise so much; for me I just can't do so much yet, only walking. I don't agree with increasing your calories yet, I don't know about you but physically I can't consume anymore than I do and I am around 700 calories also. Keep calories low remember you are in the honeymoon phase; you want to make the most of it!! -
2 weeks beyond surgery still hungry 2,200 calories a day what's wrong?
Threetimesacharm replied to Dallas Powell's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The pain you have under your left rib is your stomach, sounds like you are stuffing in too much food and yes that will cause pain. What happens when you eat half a cup of food? What do you mean by starving yourself? What type of hunger symptoms do you have? You may have only head hunger that is making you eat. Sounds like you may need nutritional counseling and meal planning. Give it a try. -

2 weeks beyond surgery still hungry 2,200 calories a day what's wrong?
Threetimesacharm replied to Dallas Powell's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is truly unbelievable and impossible IF you actually had the gastric bypass! I have heard talk of "lurkers" on this site. I think you may be one!! -
You can also make your own; milk, cocoa(pure powder no sugar) and then add you own sweetener as in Stevia. There is a very low calorie package one you can buy, I think Swiss Miss, it has like 25 calories per packet. The carbs will be coming from the milk in it.

Protein alternatives for small meals
Threetimesacharm replied to Rising Phoenix's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
At two weeks out I was no where near eating pureed. I was still trying to consume my Protein shakes to get in my required amount and consuming my Water. I am 6 weeks now and still do not feel hungry and basically yes, eating is a chore. I still do eat pureed or very soft food and have one shake a day. I have tried ground meats but they are too heavy feeling for my stomach yet. I eat my five mini meals a day(they all seem like snacks!) I eat yogurt, eggs, cottage cheese, tuna, canned meats(chicken/turkey), laughing cow cheese, soft fishes, Beans. I have also tried a Morningstar farms Breakfast sausage and it was pretty good. Don't worry I think you are doing fine. -
Why oh why have they not created a chicken flavored Protein drink!!! How about any other savory flavor!! I am having such a hard time with all the sweets; chocolate, vanilla, fruit flavors, yuck!!! Somebody must have some savory flavors in the works, they are Meal Replacements after all. Ugh, can't wait to get to the pureed stage................................

Settle stomach without soda?
Threetimesacharm replied to cjd2010's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When was your surgery? What do you mean by settle? Do you take a PPI? What is causing your stomach to be unsettled? These are all questions that need to be answered first. Never drink soda. I would consult your physician. -
from lap band to bypass,,anyone?
Threetimesacharm replied to sapphire12305's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I definitely agree I should have went with the bypass in the first place! I went from the lapband to the sleeve to now the gastric bypass. I started out much lighter when I had the bypass and am losing very well. I have no regrets and am very happy; I really like also not being able to eat sugars; this is a downfall with the sleeve as you can!! Recovery for me was longer with the bypass than the sleeve but it is a more aggressive surgery. I am feeling great now. You are making the right decision, best wishes. -
4 Weeks out of Surgery- need advice
Threetimesacharm replied to rebeccaburlinparrsih69's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Around this time frame for me I had a week of gaining/losing half pound/one pound. I find when I eat beans, like I did yesterday I gained .4 pounds. it is all relative though as this weight will come back off. I still really focus on getting protein in and not so worried right now about veggies; time will come when I will be able to consume both. I drink about 64 ounces each day to. Make sure your protein is at least 60 ounces a day. -
I believe the poster is speaking about Mexico. Contact the site here at bariatric Pal for there surgeons. Depending on how busy your surgeon is you can get your surgery pretty quick. I had my gastric bypass with Dr Zavalza on September 4th. I think I booked 6 weeks in advance and got the date I requested. It was an excellent experience with an excellent Dr. You won't be disappointed. My deposit was 500.00 and I had to have my full surgery paid two weeks in advance. Also the coordinators are awesome and you can email or phone them.

1/2cup of food
Threetimesacharm replied to sarahbethemails's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Lets see, there are 3 tsps. in a tablespoon. Half a cup of eggs seems like an odd amount and a lot for 12 days out. I didn't have egg until 19 days out and then it was 2T(1/8 cup). Maybe your pouch/stomach is bigger, you have not put your information in, so no idea what surgery you had. My NUT list also states that the quantities are the MAX not to eat it all if you are satisfied and have your full feeling, maybe you are missing it? -
