I really hope I am in the 70% because I can't use the CPAP either. -
Sleep Apnea...question

I felt like the mask was to big for me too. I would wake up with red marks then eventually turned into a bruise. Not a pretty sight. -

Thinking Of Postponing My Vsg

I am glad you have changed your mind and doing this for you. I think your husband might be a bit like mine. They really want to see us healthy but are afraid of the procedure and not so much the change. My husband decided to support me but not really talk about it. Go figure. -
Sleep Apnea...question
scaredoftheunknown replied to scaredoftheunknown's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I personally feel that I do get less sleep while using the CPAP. I am waiting on mine to arrive. I think I should be getting it any day now. My dr. did mention that getting a good night sleep does help with weight loss. He mentioned that while having lack of sleep makes us eat more to have energy to keep going during the day as where when you get enough sleep and are rested we don't need to use food for energy. -

Yes, the fruit flavored one has a lot of carbs. The plain one is lower on the carbs. -
Greek Yogurt
scaredoftheunknown replied to shell12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love the sugar free Torani syrups for my greek yogurt. I like the lemon but raspberry has got to be my favorite. I also add the lemon in my water, tastes like lemonade. -

Thinking Of Postponing My Vsg
scaredoftheunknown replied to ljperez's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with everyone else. You should have it done. If you don't have it done you might regret not having it done now. You just don't know things might change in the future and you won't be able to have it done because of insurance or even other health problems that won't allow you to with go surgery. I personally don't think you are being selfish on the contrary you are doing this to be healthy, and be around for your family for many more years. I really hope you don't change your mind and go thru with the surgery. -
Just wondering ( and not sure if I am posting in the right place) are any of you bakers, chefs, cooks? If so how do you deal with making your recipes without trying them while you are trying to loose weight or while you are on the soft food stages? I am an instructor and while I teach I don't sample any of my students cakes. I do however love to try new recipes at home and of course I try them out before I can have other try it out. I just realize that that has got to stop but how?

Thanks for all the suggestions. I am hoping that once I get sleeved I don't have the need to taste the foods I make. -
Any Bakers, Chefs, Cooks?
scaredoftheunknown replied to scaredoftheunknown's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yesterday was horrible. THat is why I posted this. I had to make a chocolate beer batter with maple and bacon icing cupcake. I had never made them before so I had to try one out. I felt so bad about no just taking one bite but for eating a whole cupcake. After I did that I did go to the gym and burned off what I had eaten but I still need to control that. Ugh!! -

Sleep Apnea...question

I haven't tried them yet until I get my machine. But yes having the face mask was bad. It kept hitting my eye even have a small bruise to prove it.. That is why the Dr. didn't even hesitate to change it. -

I am glad the machine is working great for you. I am sure you feel so much better than before using it. I was hoping that I would feel good while using it and I felt the same way you did. But nope I didn't. Like I posted earlier it made me so tired, sleepy, cranky and with a headache. But I stuck with it because I had to. I am hoping that once I try the nose mask I will feel better and after surgery I can stop completely. Now about the sexy...Hahahh! true, true get the sexy outta' the way and you can get an even better sleep. Thanks for your reply. -

Sleep Apnea...question

You made me laugh. Thank you. I am hoping that when I lose the weight I too can be off the CPAP machine. The dr. said once I lose the weight I can be re tested for it. -
Sleep Apnea...question

Update: I had my appointment with the sleep study Dr. yesterday. Took the machine back to them and they downloaded the chip and she said I had been successful at using it. She said that while using it went from 9.3 to a 1.3 which is very good. I really don't know what all the numbers mean. I just know that the 9.3 was the original result. I told her how uncomfortable the face mask was and she gave me the nose with the pillows mask. I get my machine in 10 days. I am hoping that it gets here sooner than that, as I see the surgeon on the 17th and I want to use it so that he can give me a surgery date.
