22 Pounds Lost In First 4 Weeks...but...
Frza replied to Sunshine30's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 5 weeks out and only down 18. I promised myself u wouldn't be one of those folks that bemoans my slow weightloss, but it's getting hard to stay positive. I try not to compare myself to anyone else, but it's hard. At least I'm not gaining, right? -
What Happened To Me? It Was Scary!
Frza replied to Frza's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The surgeon said to book an appt w/ my PCP soon. He has never heard of these symptoms in relation to sleeve. He mentioned scary words like 'kidney disease, high blood pressure and epilepsy'. I'll see my PCP asap. -

So - For The Guy Who Works Too Much.. Recipies?
Frza replied to Inline6E46's topic in Regular foods (stage 4)
Is there a Trader Joe's near you? Check out their freezer section. I have a variety of their frozen item on hand. My current faces are in the seafood section: saucy scallops w/ mushroom, ciopino seafood soup, and the salmon burger patties. I also like their frozen Indian entrees like palak paneer. The seafood items are mostly low cal with good protein content. These packages are usually good for 4-6 servings and are reasonably priced. -

Thanks, I have an email in to the Dr. I'll be sure to post the response I get from him. -
What Bc (Birth Control) To Use?
Frza replied to MsShaunaMarie's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
No, none at all. I didn't gain extra weight and my skin is great. The only side effect was 3 months of miserable cramps! -
Yes It Happened...and Yes It Made Me Sad.
Frza replied to Slenderella's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Wow. That must have been so painful, I'm so sorry. I was imagining myself in your position and I probably would have started to cry. This struck a chord with me because I do feel like someone who has no self control and i have a lit of shame about that. This is precisely why I didn't share with any co-workers that I was having surgery. I worried about my boss & peers thinking less of me, like if I am lacking determination and control in my personal life how much can I be relied upon at work? But, keeping it secret feels false, like I am ashamed of my choice. Which I am not, at least I don't feel that way. Lots of sleevers say " i dont care what anyone thinks, this was for me" i agree with rhat to a certain extent but i do care what my employer thinks of me. This is a very complex topic. -
The Only Protein Drink I Can Tolerate
Frza replied to SoonToBeThinKAT's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I'm just the opposite. I enjoy the powders and a couple RTD brands, but I can't do the Isopure. Clears. After about 1/3 bottle I get s stringy white build up in the back of my throat. I have actually spit out physical strings of protein. They feel like wet toilet paper stuck to the roof of my mouth! Its funny how different we all are! -
I was on a date at a local carnival. We decided to ride the Scrambler which was always a favorite of mine. It has this weird lap bar thing that locks you into place. Well, with the bar down we couldn't get the door shut. An attendant who was apparently a trainee came to help us. He struggled for a while pushing and shoving the bar into my gut, the called out to his supervisor for help. The other guy came over and chastised the newbie for pushing so hard. He showed him how to aim the bar upwards (under or ribcages) and said that sometimes you have to do it this way "cuz people got stomachs". My date wasn't svelte but he could fit in the ride just fine. I was so embarrassed that he had to witness that!

Nerding Out On A Regular Basis Now...
Frza replied to Pookeyism's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
There are some LARPers that meet in the park cross the street from my home. I enjoy watching them. Some are actually pretty agile! I have seen only males in that group, but maybe I need to look closer. Good for you! This seems to be a great way to get some good activity in. My surgeon says the best excercise is the one you enjoy doing -
This Is Going A Little Too Well!
Frza replied to NJSleeveboy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm about 5 weeks out and feel the same way. No pain, no nausea, no vomiting and haven't experienced a change in tastes yet. I'm not the fastest loser, but as long as i feel OK that's just fine with me! I am also semi waiting for something to go wrong, I'm a worry wart by nature! -

Hahaha, Shasta Daisy!!!! This is one of the simple things I am most looking forward to. Congrats, it's an awesome NSV! -
I just finished a 20oz of water in 20 min. Drinking was never difficult but now I feel almost back to normal. I'm a month out.

#1). You look great! I also love that little pony, cute! #2) don't worry about the pauses, they're only natural. You probably don't feel awkward about pauses in conversations with your friends, it should be no different on a date. I would recommend against trying to 'fill the silence' with rambling. Also, ask a lot of questions to show interest in your date's life. Talking about yourself non-stop gets old. I like when a date asks me things about myself. Have you already established some things you have in common via email? Talk about those common interests. Overall, just stay calm, breathe and be confident! I'm in a relationship now, but sometimes miss dating and the single life

Congrats! That is awesome and you look great!

How Many Pounds Lost When People Noticed Your Weight Loss? :)
Frza replied to N/A's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm like Sleeve of Steel, I'll have to drop 50 before anyone notices. That how it was when I lost weight in the past. We all wear our weight differently though. I wish folks would comment now, I'm down 25 lbs which sure feels like a lot! -
Husband Is Concerned With Me Going To Mexico
Frza replied to mbabercrombie's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
My dad felt the same way. He is a lawyer (aka paid paranoid) and a total worry wart. I asked him to accompany me to Mexicali for my surgery with Dr Aceves. He was VERY skeptical at first. In fact, he insisted on going to down there and touring the hospital and interviewing Dr Aceves before I paid te deposit. He came back from that visit more excited about surgery than I was! He felt so confident - it was really encouraging to me. Our experience in Mexico was superb, even better than I planned. I think your spouse has every right to worry about you, but really I think he'll be impressed with the experience. If he has questions or concerns encourage him to contact the hospital / surgeon! -

If you are that uncomfortable it might be time for an enema. You can one for less than $10 at the drugstore. Works really quickly too! -

What Bc (Birth Control) To Use?
Frza replied to MsShaunaMarie's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
I got the Mirena in 2010 and was just sleeved last month. I won't lie, the first couple ofonths on Mirena were very rough. I had extreme cramping, unlike anything I'd ever experiences before. My periods stopped almost immediately and I haven't even had spotting since then. I am happy with it now but it was not very comfortable at first! -
Where Have You Noticed Your Weight Loss First? :)
Frza replied to N/A's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Face & neck first. Then back & shoulders - no more spilling over the back bra strap! I am just starting to see a difference in my rib cage / torso. The belly is still bad but I am now able to wear dresses and blouses that haven't fit in a year. I am 4 weeks out today and have lost 22 lbs total. -
