For me I think u have an underlying fear that I will fail at this. That would be incredibly painful and doubly so if the whole knew that I failed at what is considered to be 'the easy way'. I didn't want my employer to know, I imagine there would be some judgement there. "She can't use good judgement and make good decisions in personal life, how can't she be trusted to make them at work". Obviously I have some issues to work on concerning failure. It's probably not so much about others judging me but rather my feelings about myself. It's hard for me to not see this surgery as a monument to my failure.

Frza replied to Earwood's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Feels great, right! Just think, you'll never again see your weight on the scale start with a 2, because we are NOT regaining this weight again! -
I'm 6 weeks out and got the ok to try if I like. I'm nervous about it but will probably try some salad soon.

Need Advice From Post Op Sleevers
Frza replied to Lollyx3's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's so hard to say! I felt great after surgery and returned to work on post-op day 10, I probably coul have gone back sooner too. But, I read on here all the time about folks feeling miserable for weeks after surgery. There are so many variables, and even then it's still not predictable. I think having complications is less likely than just feeling exhausted & uncomfortable. Is there anyway to move your surgery up a week? Just to be safe? -
Will I Ever Enjoy Another Latt Again?
Frza replied to akwitham72's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Chike also sells a coffee protein drink. -
(W)onederland!!!! Sorry, I know it's dorky but I'm so stoked. It's been slow going and seeing this number has revived my patience. Onward and upward.

I was having nighttime acid that was waking me up! Dr recommended Gaviscon liquid- it extinguished the fire right away!

Will I Ever Enjoy Another Latt Again?
Frza replied to akwitham72's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I've been drinking 12oz decaf soy lattes, about once a week. I don't use flavor or sweetners, but it still feels like a teat (with a bit of protein & calcium to boot)! -
Guess Where I'm Writing From?
Frza replied to Frza's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm probably considered a slower loser too, don't worry about it! As long as I'm losing, even if it takes a while, I'm happy. -
What Are You Going To Do After You Hit The Reset Button?!
Frza replied to urboyp's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Omg! When I lost weight a few years ago I had my heart set on learning to ride a bike. Nobody believed me that I made it 30 yrs without learning. Learning as an adult was AWESOME! The feeling of 'getting it', when it clicked and I realized I was riding, it was so gratifying. I'm not sure that folks who learned as kids get to savor that satisfaction the way an adult can, its probably long forgotten for them. Anyhow, I know you're going to love riding as much as I do now. Let me know if you want tips on how to learn! -
What Brand Of Ppi Are You Taking?
Frza replied to amykins's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Amy, I didn't have any problems with acid while switching over to Prilosec. I was afraid of that too! I took some Gaviscon the first night just in case, but not since then. I've been OK with 1 Prilosec each morning since then. -
Why Super Extra Vitamins?
Frza replied to Pinky Green's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I take a Centrum chewable, a calcium wafer, B12 sublingual, Biotin & CoQ 10 (for hair). Oh, and a pro biotic for regularity. -
Hmm, biker rally. Can't say I've attended one of those. I am a fan of Sons of Anarchy, so i could get into that. Especially if the real-life bikers look like the actors on the show!

Yes I am, thanks! I'll have to try this cart. I just visualized myself eating a turkey leg, not very ladylike! I will probably go by myself and order it to go!
-
That has got to be a regional specialty. I have never seen a leg like that offered anywhere in my neck of the woods! Maybe I just don't know where to go. My lunch was a 1/2 cup of pretty boring veggie chili. /burp/

It's easy post-op. I spent needless energy worrying about this before surgery. It's not a big deal at all.

I told my guy after I had already decided I getting sleeved. I didn't know where or when it was going to happen, but I had my heart set on it. I had a physical and came home from that sad and depressed. I shared with my BF how miserable I was and how hopeless I felt about doing WW again. He listened to me and said "how about getting a lapland?" his coworker had success with that. I couldn't believe he brought up WLS! I tol him about the sleeve and that I was interested and felt it might be my last hope. I shared my fears about the surgery, my shame about not being able to do this on my own, and the pain I'd be holding in. He finally said, "let's do it!" as if he were having surgery too! I am Si thankful for his support & I appreciate his ability to keep a lid on it as I havent shared this with many others. My advice is, be honest about your reasons for choosing sleeve. Make him understand how important it is for you. I'm sure he'll support you and your request for privacy. Good luck!

Post Op Weight Loss
Frza replied to SLEEVEDNBEAUTIFUL's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I lost about 18 in the first 4 weeks. -
Just the opposite in our household. I haven't wanted to cook much, just little bits of things for myself. I'm 5 weeks out and still experimenting with foods. My guy has probably gained a couple lbs since feeding himself equals Mac n cheese, frozen pizza, ramen & burritos. Poor thing, I better get back in the kitchen soon!

Frza replied to gettinMeBack's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Whaaaaat!?!? 6 weeks? You look some great!! -
Yuck! I've never seen the ad you're describing but it sounds offensive! I see ads for weird video games and rock bands.
