Oh geeze, I almost forgot! Turkey meatballs!!!! They are in the freezer section. They are great to have on hand at all times.
-
Their turkey jerky is my favorite jerky in the world, I love it! I like having some of their frozen stuff on hand for busy nights. If you like seafood try their cioppino soup- yummy! They have good prices on cheeses as well- I eat a lot of cheese. In the meat section I usually pick up a package of chicken sausages and one of their marinated meats (pollo asada, bulkogi, etc).

Thank you for sharing that pic, so many of us wonder about this. You look great, congrats on that amazing loss!

I did the same thing. I bought candy I don't like that way I won't be tempted. I like all the chocolatey, peanut buttery crap. I bought fruity stuff to hand out, kids aren't picky.

I remember one from South America, possibly Brazil. I believe the poster's mother died from surgery complications. This post happened sometime in the past 3 months.

Learn From My Mistake! Lost Money (Mexico Surgery--Quinones)
Frza replied to gettingback2me's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What kind of surgeon's office send out a bad check? And for $500, I believe that is a felony in CA. The Pro-Quinones poster obviously had a good experience, good for you. I for one am happy to get this info from the OP. the professionalism of the admin staff is reflective of the surgeon, period. I had surgey w/ Dr Aceves, I am certain nothing like would ever happen there. His coordinator and several members of his staff are relatives of his. The surgeon has to trust and ensure that his staff is demonstrating excellence in all aspects of the practice. Anything less is irresponsible. -
Help! 3 Mo Out And Still Can't Get Anything Down But Thin Liguid
Frza replied to CHERCOONS's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have to tried thicker liquids? Cream soup or maybe applesauce? I found that my acid problem got much better once I moved on to real food. You should certainly see a Dr, as everyone has already mentioned. -

I'm from San Diego and this is true of TJ and Mexicali. You don't lose the US signal as soon as you cross, you can probably get about 5-15 miles in and still get connection from US cell towers.

I learned this was a a possibility at the informational seminar I attended. Also, I think this article is a bit misleading. The physical description of our new stomachs in inaccurate so are the list of side effects. I doubt constant diarrhea is really a common side effect for sleevers. I did not care for this article at all.

Friends- Can We Really Keep Them?
Frza replied to O.T.R. sleever's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I made friends by posting Craigslist ads for platonic only. I found a tennis partner that way 4 yrs ago, she is now one of my best friends. I met another gal that was new to my area and wanted to do some hiking, she's great too. My core circle of friends are mostly interested in drinking, watching bands and eating out. I no longer want to do that stuff every weekend. Here and there it's fine but not every fri & sat night. Placing the ads was weird and reading the email responses was even weirder. I know it's not for everyone but I had great success finding activity partners on C-list, there are lots of normal folks out there looking for new friends! -

Amy, I'm glad you posted that. Maybe now people will stop antagonizing Suzanne. Sheesh! And to answer the OP's question, yes Dr Aceves is very good and I would recommend him 100%. -
Juice caused heartburn for me too. The only one that didn't was pure carrot juice, very tasty & good for you.

August Sleevers Where Are You? Check In Please!
Frza replied to Lucabelle1313's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Surgery date: 8/31 Starting: 218 at surgery (225 before pre op diet) Current: 196 Eating: I get about 700 cals / day and always focus on protein. Usually have a protein shake & supplements (fiber, probiotic, CoQ 10) for breakfast. Greek yogurt or cottage cheese for snack. Lunch is usually left overs from dinner or soup. Afternoon snack is beec jerky ir almonds. Dinner is chicken, fish, shrimp or crab. I haven't tried beef, pork, sweets or bread yet. I have not had any food upset my stomach but something's make me really full too fast. Hubger: I have not experienced physical hunger since surgery but do get cravings for things. Excercise: I walk 45 min daily, do free weights for arms 3x week, hike on the weekends and swim here and there. I plan to start jogging as soon as I'm cleared to do so (12 weeks). Physical: I feel great. Never experienced any pain, nausea, committing or fatigue after surgery. Emotional: I feel good! Haven't had any sadness or depression, just excitement about the future! Overall I am very glad I had this done. Te most valuable aspect has been regaining control over my very disordered eating. I felt hopeless before. I can feel that the cycle has been broken, now it's up to me to create good lifelong habits that will keep me healthy. Extra: I would like to recommend an excellent book to all of you. It called 'The Power of Habit' by Charles Duhigg. It's a fascinating read and has really helped me learn what's at the core of changing our habits. Very interesting book! -
I hope I'm like you. I'm 6 weeks out and don't dare try any sweets for fear they will sit well with me. Knowing my luck I'll be able to stomach anything. I've always had an Iron gut.

Have you tried veggie chips? They're a little healthier than potato chips. I have made 'cheese crisps' to replace crackers: Line a baking sheet w/ par hammer paper Spoon 1 tbs shredded parm cheese into mounds on the the sheet, flatten them into circles. Bake for a few minutes at 350. I always rest them on paper towels to get the excess oils out. Pretty yummy!

Shrimp - What Else Can You Fix With It?
Frza replied to CoolBreeze's topic in Regular foods (stage 4)
I like to bake or grill foil packets filled with shrimp, mushrooms & zucchini all topped with salsa. I also like those ingredients in spaghetti sauce topped with mozzarella. How about shrimp served chilled with cocktail sauce? That never gets old for me! I love shrimp.
