Blurry Vision 4 Days After Surgery
Frza replied to scaredoftheunknown's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have incredibly dry eyes since surgery (i'm 17 days out)! So bad that it wakes me up at night. I can't say I've noticed blurrieness. I've seen threats here in the past discussing this topic. Try searching the forum if you don't get many responses here. -
I lost 50 lbs a few yrs ago and felt this way. I liked the look of my fat body more than the lighter, flabbier body. I am certain this will be a struggle for me this time around as well. We have to focus on our health and be grateful for regaining control of our lives. There are always plastics if we need them later.

I really like the Oh Yeah powders (vanilla, choc, cookies & cream). So today I thought I'd try a strawberry ready to drink- YUCK! It was way to thick and chalky tasting! I may blend what's left of it with ice and 8 oz of water to make it tolerable. I do recommend the powders, I use at least 16 oz water with those

Dr Aceves' office puts you up in a Lucerna hotel the day before surgery. I have to say that I receives OUTSTANDING customer service at that hotel. It was unbelievable. The Almater hospital was just as nice as the hotel (sans pool) And i was very comfortabl spending the next 3 nights there. Honestly, I cried saying goodbye to 2 of the nurses when I was discharged. I didn't want to leave and I appreciated their kindness so much! I literally spent my 1st day back hom missing the hospital and the staff! It sounds crazy but it's true. The care I received was excellent and worth much more than the $8750 it cost me. -
I did have one. I hated it at first but after seeing what came out of it I was thankful to have had it. Glad that stuff was not floating around inside of me! It wasn't painful just kind of awkward. It was only in for the 4 days I stayed in the hospital, I didn't have to wear it t home.

One of the things I am most looking forward to is riding a horse again. I am freshly sleeved, so it will be a few months at least. I have felt too fat to ride these past few years, I worried I'd hurt the horse! -

Good point Amy! Even if you go alone it's likely you make friend's there. I really enjoyed the camaraderie amongst the patients. Work was fine today. I feel real ly good!

Honestly, I feel great. The first couple of days were tough but they really baby you in the hospital. I hear about other sleevers getting surgery and being discharged the next day. I am so glad I had the extra days to relax and heal in the hospital. Went back to work today and all was well.

I just got back from there! His staff is awesome and he is so skilled. You made a great choice. Feel free to PM me any questions you may have. Don't be nervous, you're in good hands!

How Long Off Work For An Office Job?
Frza replied to makemyownluck's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Today was my first day back in the office. I Am post op day 10 and feel great! Returning to work was no problem but I have 2 complaints: It sucked getting up to an alarm at 5:30am! I seemed to get bloated or expand throughout the day. I recommend wearing a skirt or something with elastic the first days back. I was ready to unbutton my slacks by 3pm. -

God, I think I'm doing clears wrong. I've been mixing Unjury or Nectar unflavored into my juices and broths. Is that not OK go 6 days post op? I'm supposed to be on clears for 15 days. Looks relatively clear to me.
-
I'm on clear liquids and have been mixing a full scoop of the unflavored one into broth, jello, juice and Gatorade.
-
I am 1 week out and concerned that liquids are going to down too fast. My post-op paperwork says not to consumer more than 2oz in a 15 min period. I think I'm drinking about 6-8 oz in 15 min. It all feels fine going down but I worried about breaking rules. Just wonder what the harm could be. I'm thirsty!

All that fake crap gives me bathroom problems. Plus I think fake sweeteners make me crave more sweet stuff. I have been enjoying fruit infused waters and fruit flavored herbal iced teas (non sweetened). My fav is Berry Zinger (acai, blackberry and pomegranat)- I have a full pitcher in the fridge most of the time.
