  1. I am a tummy only sleeper... with some care (and a little discomfort)... I slept in my bed, on my tummy from day 1. Hope it goes so well for you too.
  2. Hi - Welcome MaidMarion I'm in Springfield too. Self pay- and so far very worth it! I love doc Edwards! I've had my band almost a year and I feel successful! Glad to see you here on LBT. Keep us posted on your journey. Kimberly

    Got banded in Springfield MO??

Grannyk... Please don't get discouraged:frown:. It can be VERY frustrating :mad:at the point where you are. I think we all feel similar to that at different times in our journey. I had been so excited about getting surgery, and then... the wait for first fill... and I felt no restriction... :confused:when, will this work if it's gonna' I thought? I did lose on my pre-op diet... but from surgery April 2 (343#), to first fill, 5-17 (335#) I was highly motivated and used up all my "will power"... :scared2:went for second fill 5-31 (332#) and had lost maybe 3 pounds !!!!!! :cursing:$#()@#!@$^^*(@#$$!:cursing: that's it... I had been trying so hard, :eek:and didn't want to feel like I was "hard core" dieting the rest of my life. Well, went for fill three... 6-21 and my weight was... 330#.... ARE THEY KIDDING ME? Third fill -ALREADY- and only lost 5 pounds.... I'm going to Max out my band... and to lose about 15 pounds? for $17,000 ... :confused2:what was I thinking? Long story "short":blushing:... April 2-08 will be my "bandaversary"... down 120#! I try to follow all the rules, some of the time, Most of the rules, most of the time, and get in some extra activity, and exercise. Some days I do great, some OK, and some... well I'm still human -and that's OK! Each day, each choice, I try to do better. I didn't make bad choices and gain 200 pounds over night, I can't make great choices, and lose 200 pounds overnight either. I guess what I'm trying to say is, hang in there. Give it time. Get the fills you need. If you even think you might need a fill- get one! Stay active if you can, and increase that activity level regularly. Don't give up. Pray for spring time to bring sunny days, to help "cheer" us all up:regular_smile:. Keep posting here- often- and if you need a boost- get in touch. I'm as good for cyber hugs:wub:, as mush as, cyber kicks in the butt too:tt2:! lol Just know that you should love yourself through all of this... some times the only people we can depend on ... is ourselves. You need to love you, at all times.:wub::wub::wub::wub: SO- sending some cyber love your way! I'll be thinking of you. Kimberly

Were any of you at the new beginnings support group Monday evening? Princess 21 and I (maziemommy) went. Did we "see" anyone else and not know it? Linda- Good luck with your appointment tomorrow! Post update soon.
  6. DH is told often to keep him up to date... but he never remembers. So maybe I should answer the poll-no?
  7. You sound quite normal to me. You sound healthy to me too. What do you need to sound happy? You deserve a giant pat on the back for the work you've done, and the results you have. Take some time to let it all catch up, and do something special to reward your health! Thinking of you often-Kimberly

    Does Size Matter?

QUOTE....... enjoylife..... I have a high BMI (I'm ashamed to say it is 50) so I may be considered for having a larger band anyway based on what I am reading here. Of course I will ask my doctor how he makes that decision. Thanks to all who took part in my poll. I had a BMI of 59- and got a 4cc band. It can go either way! If I had a choice I wouldn't change a thing, -120 pounds in 11 months-ohhh yeah!
  12. Ready and waiting....lol

    Got banded in Springfield MO??

Hi Linda, Hi Kathy....... AND EVERYONE! I have been to a couple of support group meetings, and I would not say they have ever been "BIG groups"... last time was only 6 of us? Some times I've seen more.. but, never so many I became uncomfortable. Also, knowing we're all there for the same reasons, is comforting to my self conscience issues too. maybe I'll meet you at one soon? Good luck. Kimberly
  14. :confused:I was wondering how you are doing now that it's been a few months? Happy with all results? Would you do anything differently? Any advice for others considering PS? How is your shoulder? Been rubbing the arms lately? Sounds like your scar is doing very well from Plastics? Hope all is great with you!

    What did you eat today?

Atkins chocolate delight shake. Salmon, and squash with baby carrots. Parts of Lasagna(not the pasta parts)... and green beans. Small piece of yellow cake. Tea, coffee, water, and milk to drink.

    Anyone TATTOO their scar?

I have no tattoo on my band scars- but, have been thinking I would tattoo a Plastic surgery scar ... if I can get a lower body lift next year. Like a tiny vine "belt" winding around where the scar will be. If I need an anchor incision it will trail up twisting together toward my "chest" area. Hope to see some pics soon!!!

    Does Size Matter?

I love my doc, and he judges band size by the individual's "inside" needs. My starting weight was 367# with BMI of 59 and I am perfectly fine with 2.7cc in my 4cc band. I have lost 120# in less than a year. Good luck and great health to everyone- no matter what size it is ... IT'S NOT THE SIZE OF THE TOOL, THAT MATTERS... IT'S HOW YOU USE IT. lol:tongue::cool::eek::thumbup::w00t::thumbup:

    Got banded in Springfield MO??

Many peoples insurance pays for it..... But, I think my self pay, after appointments, may have been about $14,000.00... Don't quote me on that.. I don't really remember, as I was doing two real estate deals at the same time(with in two weeks). Sorry I can't help more than that. I do know that "Mary" is the one at doc Edwards' office that can help with insurance... Example: My Mom's would be free with her insurance- because her deduct... has been paid. Some co-pay 10-20%? Good luck... keep us posted.

    Got banded in Springfield MO??

Hi Princess- How are you doing?... and waiting for a fill? Up Late------------------- 2 reasons really.... #1.. Mazie is now "2", and is sleeping with me since the separation, and #2.. I have had insomnia since before I was school aged. I am once again being told that if I'm awake more than an hour, I should get up - just until I feel sleepy again. hahahahahaha Last night I woke at 2 am.. got up at3 am. Took a shower at 5 am and Mazie got up at 5:30am (Friday).... so now it's 3:45 am next morning (Saturday) and I'm thinking of going to bed soon! lol I hope everyone else is resting better than I do! :tea:

HI-- I'm an april bander too. Sorry about the un-fill issue. You know the don't gain weight drill... fresh foods... low fat, low carb, low sugar, control portions.... I could never do it on my own. My best advice would be try to "be good" till you get that fill... & Protein protein protein.....Good luck! Don't forget to stay active/exercise too.
