TheGh0st's Extended Tummy Tuck w/Lipo

I...am...getting...so...excited....(and I still need to lose 100#!) lol I can't wait to see and hear from you!!! I feel like we are all in this together. I am glad to hear you have spoken with "sis". I think, we all want our loved ones to be interested in what we do and go through. We all crave support from any place we can get it , but there is a special place for those closest to us. Right? Or is it just me? Anyway, good luck, and we will be waiting on the edge of our computer seats for regular updates--so keep us posted. Thank you a million times for sharing your experience with us. Banders-show me your typical daily meal....
maziemommy replied to marieze's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was banded April 2, 2007... now 6 months later, and 4 fills, lost 70#.... Breakfast... was 1/2 Atkins pre-mixed shake in a can. Lunch........ was Mexican shrimp cocktail (soup of tomato base avocado pieces, white onion fine chopped, spices/herbs, and shrimp/cut in three pieces each) maybe about 1/2 cup?? Dinner........ was "Steak and Shake's" veggie/beef soup-1/2 cup?...(very little beef, it was too dry) and a tiny burger patty-no bun-with mustard relish on it. And now it is around 9:15 pm. and I am still quite full! I should have eaten only the soup for dinner.... I got the patty of burger for added protein....it was fried --I should have skipped it and I would have been fine. Good luck on your journey. -
Thanks for her update.... I am waiting to hear yours too! Hope you both have a great recovery.

Hey-after recovery you can tell sis..... "Nanna nanna.... boo boo.....stick your head in DOO DOO!!!!!" Diane looks better than you DO! Just kiddin' , she may not want to see your pics due to jelousness, or other emotional/ :woot: unknown factors. She may think that she has always "not had the body issues" and now that is in jepardy. She has already had some plastics? Maybe she has more issues than you are aware of. Sounds like the fear of not looking better than those around her? :drama: I had a friend who had to always be the prettiest/thinnest/sexiest ect..... or was just beside herself. Good luck with "sis" and even more luck with the upcoming surgeries. Thanks for the pics too!!!!!! We are all with ya' on this! :waytogo: -

My six weeks after surgery was truly- BANDSTER HELL!! :hungry: Sounds like everyone/thing is going as expected. It was really nice to meet Tabitha.... she was so kind... I have a "new to me" treadmill, thanks to her generosity!! :whoo: As self-pay for my band, and a stay/work at home Mom, we have no exercise budget! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU TABITHA.:clap2: I am sooooo excited to see more and more people joining our tiny thread!!! I enjoy this site so very much, and messaging with people who have even more in common( area, same doctor,weather,etc...), is even better. Great to see all of you posting!! Keep the updates coming! Good luck, and great weight loss! P.S. please forgive me for the occasional check ins.... my computer is really a dinosaur...lol REALLY it is....:ranger:

Hi everyone!!! Boy did I miss an encounter or what? How was the meeting? I have been considering attending at least one. I did not mean to exclude UN5-3051-sorry- in my last post. How are you doing? Hope you are feeling great. Paisley- you sounded fantastic on the phone! Hope everthing is still good. I will call soon, to stop by. Welcome to all others!!!!!! I recently met a "mini"/major- goal for me.......my weight no longer begins with a 3.... I was 367# in Feb. at my semiar for the band... now I am 297#....woooohooooo! I am down 70#!!!!!!!!! Keep up the work and keep down the forks!!! lol.... And keep in mind that the 6 weeks following surgery, is not for weight loss... it is recovery !!!
-
:clap2: Paisley-- :bounce: --please do tell all the details of how your surgery went!!!! Hope you are feeling fine-recovering well-:notagree-and pain free! Are you feeling the after surgery restriction from "swelling and irritation"? It did not take long for me to be hungry again after surgery-- so just be aware-- :hungry: the hunger may come...... I can't wait for a full update!:whoo: ANYONE ELSE HAVE NEWS OR ANYTHING TO SHARE?? Thinking of you all --daily!

Tabitha....what types of shakes/drinks are you using?
-
Tabitha--- that is awsome!!!! The 31st will be here in NO time flat! That is great news! Dr. Edwards office number is 417 820 3800. They have information in the "packet" from capitoal one healthcare and some local lenders, but St. John's does not do any payment options at this time. He has sen patients with other abodominal issues so--- give him a call.

I'm back.... sorry I was gone so long :phanvan.... boy I sure missed out on a lot! Congratulations for the insurance approval!!!!:clap2: Good for those who have made it through the day-long class already.:bored Can't wait to see those surgery dates posted! :whoo: Happy hour always sounds great.... and FYI:nervous....I have had no issues with an occasional drink or three :wacko:since surgery. Someone asked about self pay costs.... I paid just over $17,000 :eek:and one year of aftercare is included (fills for 1 year are included) with the cost. Pre-op diet for me was not too bad ... I was on my pre-op before the day long class and my last visit with Dr. Edwards....(only after OK'ing it and speaking with Mary/Dr. Edwards about getting scheduled quickly). The first week diet is much easier than week 2... so if you want to try to go on it early-- it's not so bad, even if it does not help speed up the dates. :hungry:One sensible meal daily, and two meals of liquids-- plus plenty of Water and protein!:girl_hug: GOOD LUCK TO ALL AND KEEP US UPDATED!:kiss2:-Kimberly-- AKA maziemommy

Keep up the good/hard work!!!!! Please tell us if the class was a good/bad experience for you... you may have learned something that we missed. The 6th will be here in a flash! Dancing and working out sound good to me-- I still don't do either often enough!

5 days a week!!!!! That is great!!! Is this place similar to Curves? I went to curves before Pregnancy with Mazie- she is now 21 months old -so it's been a while! Things seem to be rolling right along for everyone! Good luck and keep on posting!

Welcome to all- Dannie-------this track walking sounds great for you and the kids too...... does it help everyone sleep better too? Congratulation to all on weight loss and the attempts to loss....I was stuck for three weeks at the same weight and finally........3 pounds gone like overnight-I broke my plateau!!!!!!!!!!!hooray!!!!!!! -
Paisley......22-24 days..... that sounds like along time to wait.... how are you doing with that? I too will cross my fingers for you....... do you plan to self pay if insurance does not come through? But- of course it will come through for you......Will the office set a schedule up for your surgery in advance- pending insurance. Or do they only set up after approval is confirmed? Anyone else got any news to share? You are all in my thoughts and prayers. PS>>>> my ticker finally got to move a bit... I was stuck for three weeks at the same weight ..... the scale finally moved!!!! woooohooooooo!
-
OK I have been very very busy lately... but, have been thinking about our local thread all week...... has anyone/everyone had an opportunity to speak with Mary or Dr Edwards??? Do we get an update on scheduling..class, surgery, exercise, dietician, any education, etc..... has the ice cream monster moved in with anyone else, around here besides me? With it being so hot, my DH keeps buying it, and it shows up in my face sometimes- I have a very hard time fighting this monster..... because I truly love it! It acts like my friend, and my worst night mare at the same time. I welcome any and all updates/info. anyone wants to offer.

Dancing sounds like fun activity/exercise. I too, hate exercise...maybe that is part of why I'm where I am. Good luck.

OK-SPYDR-WHERE THE _______ ARE YOU! PM me if you are hanging around!! -
Tabitha, if you are no longer going to be in that program...do you have a plan for extra activity, and exercise for post surgery? I just can't get myself out to walk often enough... I do pretty good with the small free weights, and upper body resistance exercises though. Cardio-- I am bad bad bad about not doing enough!! You should be up and walking around a lot after surgery.. I did do that, and all was well... now I just plain need to get out (in the heat) and do it!!! I hope you all have a better plan than mine... mine was.... "I'll be so motivated after this procedure, that I will want to do it, and there fore.....I will do it".......not so true in my reality. GOOD LUCK LADIES! It will seem like it took no time to get your band ----after you have it.

Linda/Anyone-----my advice is make sure you get scheduled for the behavior class ASAP- they were(/are?) only having one class per month. You must go to one before surgery. I had to wait a few weeks for surgery because I had to get this in first. It is a great class and, I was on my pre-op diet then. If I had set a schedule two days earlier, I wouldn't have waited as long. Not that my wait was a long one (it just felt that way because of the anxiety and excitement and pre-op diet!!!!!!). Tabitha- after going to my pre/post op stuff at HHInstitute, I would have loved the opportunity to go regularly...as self-pay I'm now BROKE for the next four-five years, and can't afford to pay the cost to go there (or anywhere..lol...). I hope that it was a benefit and pleasure, in spite of the minimal weight loss... it most likely did your body/heart/mind some good anyway!?! Keep me up to date with progress reports- or daily complaints about the frustrating wait...HAVE A GREAT FOURTH OF JULY LADIES.... eat smart at the BBQs too.

Marijuana Use After Surgery
maziemommy replied to KBates's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Munchies-munchies-munchies- this could be why I was at a top weight of 367#... I haven't smoked in years but, I did smoke a lot when I smoked a few years back.. It does act as a stimulant for ones hunger. Other than the eating, and legal, issue of it, I don't see why it would be any different pre-op or post-surgery. ???????
