Let's get some action going in here!
maziemommy replied to Gibson's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
HI All, I am the mother of a 2 year old... Mazie. She keeps me busy. I started out needing to lose 200# and am over 1/2 way there. My mother has had tons of health issues this past year, and I am currently separated from my spouse. Life is hard- I'm getting used to it... BUT it is easier 100 pounds lighter. -
Thank you John. Tabitha - great to see you o here again. 37# lost? That's great, how do you feel? Kimberly(other Kimberly) - how are doing now that you are back to work? Debbie- what's that BMI looking like this week? Can't wait to see you at the meeting Monday night. Kathy and Hollygurl- let us know how the meeting/class goes for you. Great to see everyone, posting regularly! Spring is near! P.S. Mom is home, and tires easily, but she is doing OK. Thanks for thinking of us/her.

Mary- clap clap clap.... way to go -feels great? Keep up the good choices! -
Welcome Kathy... looks like you will be at the class at the same time as Hollygurl. You may both get to meet each other! Good luck and keep us posted.
-
I will be keeping good thoughts for "Dad"... and hope all becomes well. Congrats to you on your journey with getting a band. Please keep us all posted and up to date... on both of you.
-
hahahaha- self disi... what? No -no self discipline here, or would not have been starring 400# in the face. lol Restriction is key, and some exercise. I am able to eat tons less than before, and be way more active. I do not follow all the rules, all the time. But I follow all the rules some of the time, and try to do better every day. I am a success one day, one choice, at a time. Before, I was always a failure -all day- everyday.

100# can come off in"no time"... just kiddin' But, I was banded April 2 -2007 and have lost 115# so far.... 200# to lose is/was overwhelming for me.... but as time goes on, and pounds drop off... it is much less overwhelming... and seems to feel quite realistic.
-
great- I will continue to keep all in my prayers.
-
75# loss mile stone.... 2 pounds to go, and I was up at 9 pm baking a chocolate pecan pie... 100# loss mile stone... Christmas cookie day.... yes-I all too well, know of this self-sabotage! I was ready to hit 100 pounds lost for Christmas... had lost 97#, then it took- over 6 - weeks to lose 4 pounds!

I would think solids or any other foods, right now could be very bad... any churning to get food digested could irritate the healing.

Q> hi guys, any thoughts on renaming this thread? something with BMI 50 and over? A> I'm all for the name change... I started it... only because I could no longer add to the old thread.. when I saw the "name" I tired to edit it... you can see the edit in my first post only, not in the thread name. Glad to let someone fix it- it has been bothering me for... well since it started!lol : ) L J Me...Hope all goes well with no fill and PS. -
Happy Val-day To All! Have A Great One! You Are All In My Thoughts!

IMHOpinion... if you need to show co-morbidity issues... back/feet pain, or incontinence may be factor for you, that should be brought up as well. I no longer have the incontinence issues, I had previously suffered from silently! You may not have these issues, but there may be others related to weight, that haven't even been a thought. I don't have any idea what his policy/opinion would be.

Have you tried something warm in temperature? Cold shakes etc... tighten my band, and mostly early in the day. I have some great high protein (to get in extra), hot chocolate. I think there are like 6 "flavors"- not just plain hot chocolate. I love them all, :tt2: Amaretto, raspberry, mocha, classic, mint, ... etc. If you don't know where to find some locally try.... healthyweightsupermarket in Springfield MO. I think they do shipping? :tt2: Good luck. -
(They closed the old thread... so, here's to the new year.) This is a thread for those of us who started out with a BMI over 50. Our old thread got too long, so this is the newer one. Search for it if you need to, and join us there too if you want. WELCOME!

I have had 6 fills-no unfills- I've never waited for them to call-or call back. Good luck with getting the fills in. Restriction is really the key for me. Keep us updated- EVERYONE-keep posting!! -
New to me.... no flat sleeping once at home? I slept on my tummy from day one! I'm always a tummy sleeper... I was careful to place my self, so my port didn't pull/hurt bad. I have heard of others sleeping in the recliner for 40 nights! I couldn't do it. You can put a kitchen chair by the bed, to help you lift out of bed, by pulling with arms and not tummy. I found that I could combat the gas by walking, sitting, and moving around or changing position. Good luck with the sleeping. Any experience I have had, I would share. I am an open book, just ask.
