For Those Who Weigh Every Day -

I weigh myself ever day also. I like to be able to calculate my rate of loss and to be able to predict future loss. I also use an app called WeightBot. It's an older app, but it is predictive, gives you graphs and tables, and calculates your BMI. I've noticed that I've settled into the groove of losing about 1 pound every 2-3 days. If I continue with that frequency, I should reach my goal weight by December. However, I know that there are stalls, slowing down of weight loss, etc., so I'm not holding my breath. I do know, however, that I eventually WILL get to my goal weight, so I'm not worried. I'm past the halfway mark already. I need to take a new pic to Celebrate. So people, should I go back to the statue of Morgan Freeman in my profile pic and attempt to take the same picture with myself now, or should I do something different?

Lose Weight By Stopping At Mcdonald's Once A Week

Ah, my apologies...I completely misunderstood. I can't help getting confused sometimes though because people sometimes do post on here about the things they eat post-op that scare me. From what I've read on here over the last 5 weeks, it didn't seem to me that the decision to eat McDonald's so soon out of surgery was outside the realm of possibilities.

Lose Weight By Stopping At Mcdonald's Once A Week

If it's only been a month since your surgery, what on earth can you even eat at McDonald's? I can't even eat bread. I just don't understand!!

    Memory Issue

Precisely. I gotta do better with that.

    Memory Issue

I didn't experience memory loss so much as I got "foggy" and easily confused. And yes, attention span and concentration were diminished. I don't think I'm getting enough calories yet for it to go away completely though. Even before surgery, if I didn't take in enough calories and carbohydrates, my mind would start to get foggy. I seriously can't understand how those who starve themselves or eat very little can make it through the day.

How The Hell Do You Drink Isopure?

I can't stand Isopure. I don't like whey protein in general either. But someone told me they mix Isopure with milk and it tastes better. I can't drink milk myself but maybe a milk substitute would work? Still sounds nasty either way, but that's what I was told.

    My 1St Nsv

That's terrific! My NSV this week was being able to tie my shoes without worrying that I had roughly 30 seconds before I passed out. Yay me!
  10. I don't know about anyone else, but my food dreams stopped after a while. Mine were quite vivid though. Two of my favorites were swimming in a bowl of beef stew and performing the musical Evita with a cast made up entirely of hamburgers and french fries.

    3 Month Post Op

Great job! You're totally rockin' that dress too. Makes me look forward to being able to wear a tank top again.

Here are a few more of my favorites: “No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.” ― Eleanor Roosevelt “Failure is the condiment that gives success its flavor.” ― Truman Capote “It is better to remain silent at the risk of being thought a fool, than to talk and remove all doubt of it.” ― Maurice Switzer “The best index to a person's character is how he treats people who can't do him any good, and how he treats people who can't fight back.” ― Abigail Van Buren "Nice is different than good." ― Stephen Sondheim

    Jerks.

I can only speak for myself here, but I didn't see your post as particularly "harsh". At least you had a sound argument supported by some reasoning. I respect that whether I agree or disagree.

    Jerks.

My pleasure. Trust me, I've had my moments too. There were times when I wanted to throw someone out a window because they were happily eating a huge bowl of macaroni and cheese in front of me. It passes. And you are more than welcome to vent it here--you wouldn't be the first! And don't let the harsh comments bother you. Everyone's version of "tough love" can be very different. You'll find FAR more support on here than not.

    Jerks.

Trust me, you get used to it. People eating your "former foods" in front of you, that is. It WILL get easier. I don't know if my experience is typical, but I look at someone eating a hamburger and fries in front of me and I'm surprised at how little I want it now. And trust me, hamburgers and fries were two of my best friends! You go through a transformation with this surgery. It makes you look at food differently. And if your experience is anything like mine, you realize how strange it is how you need something so much for so long, and all of a sudden you don't need it anymore. It's almost religious. Hang in there. It gets better. Eventually you'll be able to eat most of the things you used to, it's just that smaller portions will fill you up. And you resent people less and less for eating the food that made you need the surgery to begin with.
  17. Yeah, because being self-righteous is a better way to go.
  18. Jealous?!? Hardly. For a doctor, he always looks sickly. I'd rather be fat than skeletal.
  19. Ugh...he's always so smarmy. And he looks emaciated; not a manly body at all. I, too, am surprised he's promoting something other than "diet and exercise."

Former Obese Ppl Judging Obese Negatively? Wtf...

Exactly. It's totally human nature. Shouldn't we have tolerance for people who aren't sophisticated enough to realize they're projecting their personal demons onto us? How are we different if we bitterly criticize their behavior? Yes, I'd sooner date a smoker than an ex-smoker, but I try not to judge ex-smokers' self-righteous derision of smokers. After living in NYC for the last 11 years, I've had to tolerate a staggering amount of truly disgusting behavior from people. And I've had to learn not to engage and just ignore them because if I don't, it doesn't make me any better than them. I know this is more or less a "rant" thread, but the back and forth on this is becoming convoluted and circular.
  21. Most of the support staff in my office are the unclassy, gossiping type of women who are all at least 30-50 pounds overweight. Even though I told no one at my office that I had surgery, I've already heard rumors that I used WLS. So when they say it's an easy way out, I look at their waistline and say, "At least I found a way out."
  22. I dont' know about women, but there are entire subset of gay men who are into bigger guys, especially if they're hairy (usually called "bears"). When I started gaining weight I was a real hit with these men.
  23. Favorite thing: NOT getting attention from "chubby chasers". Least favorite thing: Looking at old pictures of myself, like my profile pic, my work ID card, vacation photos, pics of me on my friends' Facebook pages, etc.
  24. Congratulations! How about Twobular? Tworiffic?
  25. I'm finally getting hit on again, by both men and women. It used to annoy me, but now I bask in it. I never used to notice when women hit on me because that's not my bag, but now I'm keenly aware of it. So I flirt back. My wedding ring is still slightly tight, but I don't think I'll wear it for a while even when it fits again. Hehe.
