    A Bit Of A Dilemma

While in pre-op waiting to have surgery with Dr. kim on one of the surgical nurses told me There were only 2 doctors she would consider using and dr. Kim would be her first choice. I used him because of his experience in revision surgery. And I drive 3.5 hours one way for all of these classes, check ups, etc...

Say Something Nice About The Last Poster

I think everyone of you have been inspirational to me. Cowgirl Jane is probably the one who provided me with the "kick me over the goalpost" of making up my mind to ban the band and get sleeved.
  4. Wow - congratulations and I want you to be my mentor:)

  6. I had my revision surgery with Dr. Kim on the 10th of September. I was fortunate that he did it all in one step. His P.a. Told me he was doing it in 2 stages from now on but I am sure he will look at it on a case by case basis. Praying for you to get it done all at the same time!
  7. I had surgery on the. 10th. I find it difficult to get un all my protein and fluids. I do add unflavored protein to my soup. Ready to move onto purée foods

  10. I am 2 weeks out. The first day I would have told you it was a mistake. I was hurting, i was nauseated, and I was thinking what have I done to my body and knew I could not undo the "damage". I spent 2 nights in the hospital. I too have a very supportive, loving husband who took very good care of me and helped me to walk the hallways, and kept encouraging me. By day 4 - the pain and nausea were gone. Now came the learning process: sipping fluids, avoiding dehydration, trying to get in the Protein shakes. Today I left church and told my husband how thankful I am To be on this side of the surgery. I wore an outfit I haven't worn in two years. My husband said I was walking faster. And I am still making myself drink liquids, telling myself not to cheat and eat the biscuits I so badly want:). Your husband is right to tell you to ask questions. For me I had to make a choice. I know myself well enough to know I do not have the self discipline to eat less and work out more to lose the weight I need to lose. I needed a tool to help me. So i purchased one:) Sent from my iPad using VST

From Band Ti Sleeve Same Day Surgery?

I had mine done all in one step by dr Kim in colleyville tx. As of sept 10 I have heard he is now doing it in. 2 stages - I may have been one of the last patients he did all at one time or so his nurse told me. I did not want to go in 2 x for this surgery bc I was afraid I would chicken out:).
  12. Congratulations pip! You inspire me.

    Here I Go

Well I am one week out today. I go tomorrow to have my staples removed. The first 48 hours were the hardest. And I have spent this week trying to get the hang of SIPPPING fluids. Somehow I missed this information in all of the research I did. I was up 10 lbs when I got out of surgery so this week has been a wash as far as weightloss goes. I move into full liquids for the next 2 weeks. This is definitely a learning experience and if possible I think it helps to have someone at home help you the first few days. There is quite a regimen of crushing pills, tracking Fluid intake, and breathing exercises. Not to mention walking which seems to be the best advice for faster recovery. Ok, I wish all a successful week! May God bless and keep you in His most capable hands. Sent from my iPad using VST

    Explain Your Name!

As a first grader learning to read in the 60's we read d**k and Jane books. d**k and Jane had a dog named Tip. My oldest brother is 18 when I am born - and loves to torment tease and give nicknames. I am 3 years old reading See Tip Run when in walks my brother and says - your name is Tip - 45 years later few people know me by my real name - I live in Texas and I am Tipintx:) Sent from my iPad using VST
