Doc emailed me back and told me to have a protein shake before workouts. Problem solved!
-
Thanks guys. I thought it was a little concerning. Emailed my doc today just to be on the safe side.

Bought mine from target. It was 10 or 15 bucks. Got it 3 months ago.

Well, it's not working! Filled at 3 cc, 11/29 banddate and I am STARVING. I have drank water & crystal light trying to curb the hunger. It's not working. I'm trying to stick with my plan, but 4 oz of meat cheese and eggs is getting old and its not keeping me full. I would probably kill for a green veggie right now. Is this that band hell I have read about bc this SUCKS! Ok, vent complete.

Am i exercising too much?
BandedBettyBoop replied to dalia93's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would suggest upping your calories. Preband I was eating 1200 cal per day and was losing. Then suddenly it stopped. I increased to like 1500 for a week and lost weight. I think I settled at 1400 calories, but everyone is different. You should try gradually increasing your calories or talk to Ur doc. Maybe? -
OMG crazy drinking night!!! plz tell me its ok!!
BandedBettyBoop replied to LoLo9826's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm sure you know no one is going to tell you that was ok. But you can always make better choices in the future. Good luck. -
I got my first fill today. I was freaking out about it but I guess it went okay. I got 3 cc's in a 11 cc band. I hate needles so that was the most painful part for me. Especially when he took it out. :-( But other than that I'm relieved! I'm official now! Ready to see this bad boy start working!

I weigh myself daily. I know it is "bad" but it helps me, so I do it! If I don't see the scale moving how I want it to, I have to take a look at my behaviors to ensure they match what the scale says. It's sort of a checks and balances act for me. Oh well! Enjoy your new scale.

Constant Stomach Gurgle - Gas or Something Else?
BandedBettyBoop replied to phdizzle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's normal, my stomach sounded like a thunderstorm a for a few days post op! It started while I was on mushies. Made my little brother giggle. I think it is some gas and some of your body getting used to food again. It will eventually go away. Good luck. -
So I had chicken for lunch...

1/4 dark meat from Boston market to be exact. As I was finishing I felt a small bone mid chew. I went to get it out and accidently swallowed it. Idiot. So I started feeling pressure in my chest soon afterwards. I haven't had a fill yet (3 wks post op) so I'm not sure what it is to be "stuck". I kinda freaked out & called my doc. They don't normally recommend it, but he suggested I drink Coke to try to fix whatever the deal is. I drank it. But other than feeling sugar shooting through my body I don't know if It's helped yet. I felt something moving around for a bit, but I still feel some weirdness going on. How long should I wait before I try the next suggestion? (Meat tenderizer mixed with some water... Yuck) -

It was tiny, I was eating a chicken thigh. I think something is working bc I'm feeling better than I did! I did eat some salmon just now and it went down fine. I think I may do liquids tomorrow. That's a good idea. -

Mis I haven't had a fill yet so its not like I can get an unfill. He normally wouldn't recommend it but he thinks it could help me with my current situation. "Why would a doctor recommend something that the majority of other surgeons tell you to never do?" Well that's a great question, I see that on here all the time. I'm 3 weeks post op but I'm not allowed puddings, oatmeal, veggies & tons of other things that other surgeons allow. Since my doctor went to medical school and I didn't, I'm going to trust him. -

I'm not in pain. It's just uncomfortable. Floridays I can drink liquids fine. It's weird. I'm going to try hot tea. Wildrose, Gotta remember all docs are different so just because your doc says no, doesn't mean my doc is wrong. Pebba ill have to try that next time... Unfortunately I'm sure this won't be the last time I experience something like this. -
I wanted it, I got it, but it's bittersweet?
BandedBettyBoop posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Banded November 29. It's been okay physically (my port site still hurts a bit). I'm down 15 lbs since surgery. I just gave away every pair of pants I own because they already don't fit. They were falling off and my butt started looking saggy. I've come to terms with the fact that I will be wearing leggings and dresses during this weightloss journey. Today I realized that my ring that I love, no longer fits. I'm trying to wear it on my thumb. I want to lose weight. I'm happy to be losing. But I'm borderline depressed that nothing fits. I know this will pass with time. But is it normal to feel this way? -

Jersey I think that's my problem. I HATE looking frumpy! Lol who knew this last 15 lbs would be so closet changing?! I didn't. Same issue with underwear. I threw away some and bought some cheapy packs in a lower size from Target. As crazy as it sounds I don't think I put together the gradual weightloss and needing new clothes. Lol I had a lil tunnel vision. -

I don't think my bigger clothes made me feel safe. It was just an overwhelming moment where I realized nothing fit. I think aj said it perfectly. It is just as frustrating as not being able to fit clothes that are too small. I dress well and I don't like looking like I'm swimming in my clothes. I tried to go buy a pair of jeans but I'm in between sizes so I settled on leggings! Lol I'm going to check out some thrift stores. Thanks all. -

maybe im just bad at math...
BandedBettyBoop posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I do have a masters degree in Business. But I can't for the life of me figure out how I'm supposed to get 60 grams of protein in per day. My doc says I should be eating 3 oz of protein (meat/cheese/eggs) 3 times a day. That's it. No veggies, no dairy, no fruit, no carbs. I've tried a lot of protein combos in the last week. But, I can't get to 60 without a protein shake! Any suggestions? -

Awkward I use Isopure as a Protein shake. It gives me 50 grams of protein. I just want to try to get my protein from actual food. Maddy I don't know why I didn't think of taking the yolks out. Slow moment. I will try that. I've had eggs/cheese omelettes a few days... Looking for variety :-) -

BandedBettyBoop replied to BandedBettyBoop's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well my struggle is I don't have many options to just add protein. I will look into the unjury as added protein to food. I'm also going to try to eat more fish. Cheese doesn't seem worth it, im not getting enough bang for my ounces when I have only 3 oz alloted per meal. Same thing with eggs. I'm not allowed peanut butter or nuts yet. I'm just trying to stick to my rules. Looks like I'll be having tuna for breakfast! I like seafood, but it gets a little expensive to eat all the time. Oh well... Gotta do what you gotta do, right? Thx again all.
