Great you should be proud of sticking up for yourself and countless others !!

It's not always easy nothing worthwhile is easy, you have to work it!!! Drink your water!!!!!keep making more good choices than bad ones, get support I am a private person so not that many people in my life know about the band but here I love sharing. Sharing and talking about my journey with those that understand helps me very much and hope I help others. I am 17 months in and everyday is still A CHOICE!!
Keep making good choices!!

The band is a tool to help you but you still have to make those good choices! Meal should not take longer than 30 min. Stop at 30, do something else. When properly filled the band helps so much but again you have to make those choices!! Are you drinking enough Water? Dehydration can be confused with hunger. Protein 1st but I have found have to make fresh leftovers dry out too much and I have difficulty with the same piece of protein I had before. It is easy to get discouraged with a life time of failures as your example but keep at it, keep finding things that motivate you and help you make good choices!! Good Luck

Great attitude, it's a tool learn as much as you can stay on these boards, ask questions. It is a diet with will power and exercise till you get enough fills to be in the green zone and even then you have to have the control to stay away from sliders!! Good luck with your journey!!

The elusive green zone is the point where you can eat the recommended small portions and not be hungry for at least 4 hours

Yes swelling is going down and no fill so till you get to the right fill it is a lot of self control, myfitnesspal is a great app to keep calories in check try to stay around 1200 calories, drink your Water and use this time before in the green zone to learn to take small bites and wait in between bites

I'm on myfitnesspal pal it's just as an important tool as my band feel free to add me lanagirl

Catfish is right, right after you are very aware of what size portion you eat and how you chew it then it get comfortable and boom, may I add barometric pressure affects tightness, allergy drainage affects how things go down, and after a stuck episode there is some swelling so you have to take it real easy till swelling goes away, 16 months out and still learning

I really don't feel ashamed for having to have WLS, I am a private person and don't need anyones opinion on my chose. Also I look at my band as a treatment. I had an addiction and I got treatment for it. That simple, I got help! Hope this helps some of y'all that feel bad about your WLS, you just got help!!!

I totally agree with you weight loss surgery alone is a tool not a trick. It doesn't magically fix anything and along with diet and exercise you have to keep learning how you react and eat after a fill. Good luck I am 16 months into my journey and have lost 97 pounds, 30 to goal and maintenance.

Slow and steady learn to listen to your band as you get your fills, 5# a week sounds great at first but if they are sliders your only hurting your self by delaying learning how to eat with your band, as you get your fills and move into the green zone you are gonna need to know how to listen to the band and when to slow down and when to stop eating
-
I agree 100% with what catfish87 said, just slow down get your fills and learn to listen to your band. I am 16 months out it takes time

I have been very selective about who I have told and I'm so glad for that, it's my journey...so I decide to only share with a few... But so true you can't unring a bell. I read of horrible reaction from those people others thought would be supportive. What ever your choice " it's your journey"
