    October Sleevers! Announce Yourselves

Hi. I was sleeved on 10/9/12. I'm stuck at 190 size xl/16 reg. I feel great except for bad knees which stop me from walking my miles. I have also incorporated wine and my fav foods in my diet. The great thing is that I am still eating less! I mean.....u can only fit so much in the sleeve. Thank God! Otherwise I would be back at 275! I try to eat healthy most of the time. And I have to be more careful since the holidays are just around the corner. God luck to all in keeping your goals and commitments. I feel like a' normal' person who has to exercise and watch what u eat. We just got a nice headstart! We can do this. I would like to lose 40 more pounds. God help me! Have a great life people!

    October Sleevers! Announce Yourselves

Help..... I have lost 65 lbs since surgery but... I am at a stall. I have also been eating bread!! Bread is the devil, people! I feel so bad that I can eat anything just smaller portions. But I have also noticed that I can eat a lot more now. I need to go back to the basics and also need to find a local support group. Is it possible to stretch out my sleeve? Its been 4 months.

    Bout A Month Post-Op!

Hi, I was also sleeved 10/9. I lost 30 pre-surgery and 10 post surgery. I can eat almost anything soft and mushy. Lots of fish, salmon, tuna, eggs. I love my saltines and string cheese! I also need to chew more and slow down! Keep up your good work. I hear u, it's one day at a time. I am trying to walk one mile a day. Sometimes I slack. Keep us posted on ur progress...
  8. Ok I don't feel so bad. I drink a protien shake for breakfast, i also have a cheesestick snack. Then for lunch, usually 1/2 cup or less of tuna salad (I should try more soups!). dinner I will have to lessen my portion of meat and add real veggies. I always have SF Popsicles and jello for evening snacks. I also love the saltine crackers! I was wondering if I can try pita crackers or those Milton multigrain new baked crackers?
  9. I got sLeeved oct 9th and I can eat up to 3 oz. Of salmon in one sitting. I have a problem slowing down, and really concentrating on the food. I wasn't starving. But my instructions are to begin eating soft mushy foods, 1 oz meat, 1 oz. Veggies, fruit. Is it possible to eat that much in one sitting? I am doing pretty good about no liquids before or after and if I wait a bit, I actually feel full. I haven't thrown up at all, just worried!
  10. Yeah to pureed foods! Saw my doc for 2week post op vist. I purposely did not weigh myself for a week since 1 week post op the scale didn't move! So I am down 10 pounds since surgery date!! YEAH!! And I can finally have something other than protien shakes. Although I am glad I like them because they will probably be my major source of protien for a while. I feel great, back to work tomorrow. Waaaaa! It was nice not to have to get up early for a couple of weeks. Well, back to reality!
  11. I am so blessed to sit here and write that surgery went well. better than expected outcome, I did not feel any pain or nausea. I didnt even use the lortab i picked up for post op pain. I am a little disappointed that i have i did not drop any weight since pre-surgery. i only weighed myself all week the first seek after surgery and the number did not go below 240. i figured i will wait until my 2 week post op appt to weigh in with doc and ask him why! I know it could be any numbe of reason. but in the back of my head i'm thinking, am i the exception to the rule? i know i'm just freaking out. i can tell my clothes fit me loose and and my face is already smaller. but i can sure take in a lot of fluids. i mean i have no problem getting in 64 ounces of fluid. today i tried my puree soup with 3 saltine crackers. and i feel ok. last week, i took a nibble of a cheeseburger sample at costco. i thought it would be stuck or something, but it didn't. it was mostly the meat and i chewed it well. since then, nothing other than liquids. and walking. i've done it every day so far, tonight i may skip it. i had my first massage post surgery and i feel a little sore. maybe i;ll get up early and have a nice saturday morning walk. ahhh thanks for listening. ttyl
  12. Scary! I am taking in enough fluids, working on protien intake. I don't ave any problems sipping up to 4 oz. In 15 minutes. I heard this is common. So why?.? And when should I see more loss? Sorry, having a freaking out moment that I am the "exception" to the rule...
  13. Good luck to you Bella. I know the pounds will come off eventually. I go back to work next week and have been trying on my work clothes. Pants are very loose since I started this liquid diet almost 4 weeks ago, but the tops now fit the way they should. I guess I was wearing my clothes super tight!

    Shake Alternatives

I dont like shakes either but I love the Costco Premier Protien shakes, I still drink them to fill up. I'm only 5 days out (surgery 10/9). Good luck to you!
  18. I got sleeved 10/9/12. Thank God I did not have any pain aside from headaches. Had regular BM's this week. Still on full liquid diet. My mom is an angel and has made me the best ever chicken broth! I've been existing on protien shakes, juice, water, broth, Popsicles, and jello. Not majorly hungry. Kind of sucky to smell pizza and not able to have it. I guess that's my head hunger telling me that I want it? Not sure, keeping busy at home, my BFF came to stay with me a fees days to make sure I didn't die! She made sure I sipped instead of chugged and that I didn't lift anything heAvy. I am blessed everything went smoothly.
  19. Regarding your pre- op diet, I cheated on the first week of my liquid diet with a small side salad and restaurant soup and teeny piece of sourdough bread. I felt bad that I cheated so I called the nutritionist and she said there was nothing I could do about the past but to stick to liquids only. My friend who also had surgery told me to under no circumstances to stray from liquid diet. It was hard, but I did it. The premier protien shakes were pretty good and really helped me say satisfied. I made and ate lots of SF jello, pudding, and Popsicles. Today is my second day post op and I am feeling that I am doing so well because I followed docs orders. Yes, it has everything to with shrinking the liver and giving the doc room to operate. I would also suggest you find a good inexpensive foot massage /reflexology place and get one, it will open the lymphs and make for a better recovery. Good luck to you, I wish you a successful surgery and speedy recovery.
  20. Thanks for all the prayers. I am truly blessed. Surgery went well, I was very tired yesterday. Today is a new day. Worse pain right now is a headache. They say from the narcotics (dilauded).... Still not able to pass gas, but I am burping ok. My best friend came from AZ to spend a couple of night with me in the hospital. Let's see what today brings! Have a great day everyone and thanks again for the support.
