    Is this normal?

I had the same issues with some of my fills. My doctor told me to just do liquids for at least 24 hours, when I got my 4th fill and they put in 2 cc they told me to do liquids for 48 hours. I just sipped Water and sipped Protein shakes for that time and that was enough to keep me satisfied. I was told that sometimes after a fill you swell a bit and that causes some extra restriction that will go away after a few days. Just make sure you are getting liquids in the worst thing to do is dehydrate yourself- trust me- been there done that and you think you will die!

    holidays

Yep. Made a ton of different types of party mix last week for gifts. I bagged it all up before I had a chance to taste, put names on it and put it in a big bag to take to work and put it away. Out of site hopefully out of mind!
  4. Disney World Vacation is booked - can't wait till April!

    Difficulties through the Journey...

I have had 5 fills and I think I have hit the sweet spot. I don't get hungry for 4-5 hours and 1 cup or less will fill me up.

    Dealing with Plateaus?

I am getting around 8 hours of sleep a night- I normally crawl into the bed around 9:30 or 10 and I am up at 5 to 5:15. I have had bathroom issues, but it's odd last week after I went 4 days without going- when I finally went, the next morning my weight was up not down. That really confused me. I am getting enough Water, if I drink any more I just as well quit my job and sit on the pot. I have to go pee about every 30 min. which I know must drive my co-workers crazy. But, honestly if I don't drink that much I feel thristy. It's like I can't get enough water and water is all I drink. I add crystal light sometimes for flavor, but I don't drink soda and if I get tea it is unsweet and sometimes I will add lemon wedge to my water.

Liquid diet is like coming off of drugs:))

Difficult doesn't even come close to what it is. I remember one night thinking I was going to die if I couldn't eat something. I was fussing with the hubs and asking why the heck was I doing this. But, I was reminded why I was doing this by a quick look in the mirror in my birthday suit- yep that is why. It's hard, but it doesn't last long and you will forget how bad it is once it's over and you are eating again. All that difficulty will be worth it. Hang it and keep holding on. Remember to drink, drink drink- it does help, even if you add some flavoring like crystal light.

    Buddy.. Where are you! :)

Everyone is different with reaching their sweet spot. I just reached mine with fill 5. Try not to get to frustrated this early on. I am frustrated now that I seem to be on a plateau, but I keep reminding myself that this is normal and it will get better.

    Resistance bands!? Ya or Nay?

I tried using those to. Becareful, one of mine broke when I was doing a curl and the bottom shot up and gave me a black eye. My hubs freaked he was scared people would think he did it and they would never believe the truth.
  10. Trying not to let little things get me down!

    scales

My doctor said my scales are fine. I weigh every day when I get up after I pee and in my birthday suit (TMI I know) and I chart my weight. This gives me an accurate movement since it's daily on the same scale. I however would love the FITBIT ARIA scale.

    Patience is not my virtue

I do exercise. I walk/elliptical/weight training on the Total Gym. I also count calories. However, even though I am doing all this and burning way more calories (I have a fit bit) than I eat, my weight is still at a stall. My doctor says it's common, but geez it's driving me crazy.
  13. Thyroid screwed up now, was fine before surgery, but now it's off- WTH?

    Stuck!!

It does hurt!! Sometimes I try and force it to come back up, other times I will try and drink until it litterally floats up, sometimes I just walk and it passes.

    Evweyone says

I heard it to. When I first considered lapband 8 years ago that is what my parents said and they gave me no support so I didn't do it. Thankfully this time my husband and thankfully my parents go on board and are fully supportive of my decision. People who have never been over weight or addictive to food just do not understand. Thankfully the band really does help to keep your satisfied long with less, which is why it works so well for us. Go get your band and show them!!
  16. You are right- sometimes we need those little things who prove to us that we are being successful. Congrats on this success!!
  17. Getting an attitude adjusment (hair cut) this afternoon!! Can't wait!!

    1 year "Bandanniversary!!!"

Congrats I would love you be able to say the say things next June!
  19. You are still early in the game. You may want to try talking with your nutritionist, they can review you food journal (another great thing) and make recommendations. Make sure you are getting the Water you need- water is very important. Also look at your salt intake. Next, if you are working out daily, you may be gaining muscle, and muscle weighs more than fat so you could be losing fat, but adding muscle so the scale will now show the difference. In time though it will show and you will be better off.

Why, oh why do old habits die hard?

You are going through a really tough time right now, so don't beat yourself up to much. Honestly, I can't imagine dealing with what you are right now. Today is a new day and do your utmost to stay strong.
  21. It's just 7:50 am and I am already exhausted thinking about all I have to today!! It's going to be another loooooong day!

  22. For those of you who drink a Protein shake in the am, how long does it hold you? Since my last fill I am tight and in the mornings I don't really feel like eating something solid, so I decided to give the Protein shakes another try. For the last two days I have drank the Slim Fast High Protein, it has 180 calories, 20 g of protein, 2g of carbs, 2 g of Fiber. The shake taste pretty good and it doesn't give me indigestion like other protein shakes have done so a plus plus. However, about 2 hours after I drink it I am hungry. I drink it around 7 am so by 9 I am starved, but I don't want to eat my snack (greek yogurt) until 10 so that will last until my lunch at 12:30-1. How do the shakes work for you?

    Morning Protein Shakes?

CG- I am envious of you!! Don't know if it's your want power or your plication, but you are rocking this thing. I discussed doing the plication with my doctor, but he didn't feel like it was warrented. While he does do the plication and band he normally does this on larger patients (300+), since at the initial meeting I was in the 230's he wanted me to really think about it. I chickend out on the plication and just went with the band, maybe I should have done the other.

    "cupcake" dinners

I have been doing this for years making baby meat loafs - a time saver. Done the mac n cheese to and added some ham bits this is great for lunch boxes and for a quick meal on the go. I am doing the meatloafs tonight (I add shreded carrots to my meat loaf- adds some texture and sweetness, plus it gets another veggie in my ultra picky hubs).

Eat to LIVE not live to EAT

Not easy to change engrained habits, but it can be done with dedication and consistancy. However, it is nice to actually like the new way of eating. I don't miss pigging out and feeling as stuffed as a thanksgiving turkey.
