  1. I confess

I love weighing less than my husband now. He has also started watching what he eats.

I want to say to those who are waiting to feel sexy and confident, to feel it now just the way you are.

I love discovering sugar free vanilla and carmel skinny lattes and even better finding an inexpensive latte machine, so i can make them at home.I look forward to this every afternoon.

    Almonds is my new snack.

My hair is falling out a lot now. Clumps of it even though I take Biotin, all my Vitamins and all of my Protein. I had thick hair so wasn't too worried about losing some of it, but now getting a little worried. I wonder where you can get wigs like Kim has on housewives show.

  2. I'm making an extra effort to get in all of my liquids and Protein. The doctor said if I don't get in all of my fluids I will become weak. He suggested getting the 20 onc bottles of Water and putting 3 in the freezer. He said cold water makes it easier to get down. Also, he said to make sure I always have a bottle of water w/ me at all times. It doesn't seem as daunting when I look at the three bottles. They aren't really that big.

The protein is important too. Getting in all of our protein is important to prevent Hair loss, muscle loss, etc. what really made it stand out as vital is the heart is a muscle. I had this surgery to protect my heart and so I'm going to force myself to get in my 60 grams of protein a day.

Oh and exercise. I do the bike 30 to 60 minutes 5 days a week BUT I just found out the first 20 minutes doesn't count in burning away fat. In addition I have to reach my target heart rate. I have a desk on my bike and do work while peddling but today I'm trying to reach my heart rate and it is much more difficult.

This 2 nd follow up with the doctor helped me realize even more how important these rules are.

  3. I was sleeved on the 8th of August and am doing better since I stopped taking my calcium citrate. I have to find something easier on my stomach. Taking 2 capsules three times a day was not easy. They made me feel nauseous.

If you are getting dizzy or weak it could be because your blood sugars are really low. You may need a serving of carbs if they are allowed by your Dr.

We invested in a Fitbit Aria WiFi Smart scale right before the surgery.. It sends my weight and my body fat percentage to my Fitbit account. I now have my 45 lb weight loss badge!

  4. August 20 Sleever here also. I have done pretty good all week' date=' but today, I just dont want to drink anymore. Im having trouble pushing the liquids

Also, are any of the August 20 sleevers still having pain up high? I also had a Hiatal Hernia fixed at the same time, so I am not sure which is causing the pain.[/quote']

I'm an August 8th sleever and I still have pain up high. Mine is a burning pain. It isn't constant and it seems to be getting better with a drug that coats ulcers and protects your stomach tissue.

My nut said it is normal for sleevers to experience heartburn for up to four or five months after surgery.

    It will get better.

  5. I have struggled with bathroom issues too. I have only gone twice since I have been home. It seems to be very common so I am not going to stress out over it.

I plan to try the ricotta bake. It sounds really good <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' /> anything but liquids sound good! Thankfully I am not hungry most of the time. I am enjoying that. Counting down the days until I can have a scrambled egg!!

It sounds good but without egg for me.

  6. How did you doctors appointment go? Were you able to address your heartburn situation? If so' date=' what was the remedy suggested?[/quote']

Hi Katie, the Dr reminded to sip my liquids. It seems to be working. I did pick up some Pecid Complete and it is helping too.. He assured me it will get easier as my swollen stomach heals. I was cleared for stage two meals and cleared to riding my exercise bike.

  7. Allnewme...almost mushies! Its good to make progress and it will feel more natural. Crock pot meals are wonderful for that stage! Also you might want to try the ricotta bake...in a ramekin put meat sauce on the bottom' date=' then ricotta mixed with an egg and parm, then more sauce and top with motzarella and more parm and bake until browned and bubbly. Sooo good just like lasagna. I love cottage cheese with canned pears still have that for breakfast some days. Glad you're doing so well![/quote']

That sounds so good! Thanks for a great idea. Tommorrow is my 2week Dr. appointment. I am so looking forward to stage two!

  8. My recovery is going really well so far. I have no trouble getting all of my Water or shake down. The little bit of pain the first three days was relieved with pain meds and now it doesn't even hurt when I need to get up. I was warned not to weigh myself untill my two week appointment because they said I would be heavier when I got home from the hospital. Of course I did weigh myself and they were right! I was up six pounds but I knew it was from Water weight. I lost it overnight. I lose about a pound to 2 pounds a day now.

It is strange how you can still imagine how your favorite foods would taste. The shake I use is Nature's Best Isopure strawberries and cream mixed with one percent milk. It is really good, surprisingly. I also like the chocolate and vanilla flavors. It was on sale a few days ago at The Vitamin Shoppe's online store for $32 something for the huge container that sales usually for around $95.

  9. I confess:

I gained weight on my pre-op diet and had to wait another month for my surgery date.

I thought it was silly to have a requirement of weight loss before having the surgery.

On the way home from the hospital I was sad because I missed my best friend food and felt stupid for having done this to my body.

I felt as though I didn't have anything to look forward to any more on the way home from the hospital.

It is hard to believe I have gone a week without Food and even harder to believe I have another week before I can start eating one 3oz serving of Protein a day.

Against Dr. orders to not bend down and not to pick up anything over 20 pounds I bend down to pick up 2 of my dogs and carry them upstairs because one is too old to go up on his own and the other one is afraid to go upstairs. They won't let my husband pick them up or carry them.

I'm amazed at how fast my weight is dropping off and how much energy I am gaining.

Whereas before I envied people who had their whole stomach and could eat whatever they want, I now feel sorry for those people that do not have such a wonderful tool to keep them from over eating.

  10. I haven't had any trouble getting my shake or Water down yet, and I had my surgery three days ago. This is a embarrassing but I'm feeling jealous that my husband gets to eat whatever he wants and I can only have shakes. food commercials or other people eating also brings about resentment. On the way home from the hospital we passed a lot of the restaurants we used to spend so much time in and I felt homesick for them. I hope this stops soon because I went through a lot of pain to get where I'm at now.

  11. Hi all ! I'm being sleeved August 8th' date=' 2012 by Dr Morris Washington in Myrtle Beach SC. Is there any other august sleevers on here?
