I am so embarassed, I cannot believe no one has stopped this thread! hehehehehe, NOT. I love this! This sounds like convo's me and my coworkers have at times. We call our bay the EEO isle! Because if someone over hears they are bound to be offended. I have learned something new. I will tell my husband to try peaches. Nothing like a little peaches and cream!

I think I might be a weirdo! I watched on Youtube last night and thought it was very interesting (not sure how else to word it). My husband on the other hand left the room. I always liked those surgery shows and such.

Is The Band That Bad?
SleeveandRNYchica replied to SleeveandRNYchica's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I suppose it's debatable but here is a a little info I found on both.... History of the gastric sleeve The earliest incidence of this kind of surgery occurred in the mid-1990s. Sleeve gastrectomy is a less common form of bariatric surgery than the alternatives, but is gaining popularity as it is also less invasive than a full bypass. Laparoscopic techniques were developed at the end of the 1990s and are now used as standard, since the complications and recovery time are generally lower. Timeline 1986 First use of open adjustable silicone gastric banding (ASGB) 1990 (Apr) First use of ASGB in Europe 1990 (Dec) ASGB FDA-approved clinical trial started in the U.S. with the first patient surgery 1991 First ASGB workshop in Europe 1993 First laparoscopic adjustable gastric band used in Europe 1994 First LAP-BAND® System workshop in Europe 1995 LAP-BAND® FDA-approved clinical trial started in the U.S. with the first patient surgery in the United States 2001 The LAP-BAND® System is approved by the FDA for use in the U.S. 2005 My LAP-BAND® Journey online clinical support program is introduced to provide tips and trackers designed to help patients prepare for surgery and track post-surgery success 2006 Sales of LAP-BAND® System exceed 100,000 for the first time 2007 The third generation, LAP-BAND AP® System, the most advanced gastric banding technology is launched 2007 Sales leap to over 300,000 in the United States 2011 (January) 650,000 LAP-BAND® System devices sold worldwide1 2011 (March) The LAP-BAND® System is approved by the FDA for people with a Body Mass Index (BMI) of at least 30 kg/m2 with one or more obesity related comorbid conditions -

If you don't mind me asking, what type of "other" paper work did they request? **Congratulations on your approval!!! -
Ummmm, I cannot wait to have skinny sex with my husband. We have always had great lovin', but I feel like I am more into doing different stuff when I am smaller. Hubby only needs to loose like 20lbs and I am sure that will happen when I am sleeved. (He is not the type to eat crap in front of me either). Good for you and good for her I don't care what some people say, sex is a very healthy, important part of any relationship. It was actually one of the things the Doc asked me during my psych eval.

Psych Exam In Spanish-My Latin American Experience
SleeveandRNYchica posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have lived in Latin America close to four years. I would say I am a decent Spanish speaker and I understand much better than I speak. My surgeon here has all the same requirements of surgeons stateside. So today I had my psych eval and it was in Spanish. I am patting myself on the back that I can communicate well enough with the Doctor for him to determine I am mentally ready for my surgery. The convo did get heavy and he made me so comfortable. I know a lot of people speak more than one language, but it has not been easy living and adapting in a totally Spanish world. I feel accomplished that today is my last mandatory appt and even more so that it was in Spanish. -

I live in S. AMerica and it is so much cheaper to get laser here. I pay @ 60 per season for my underarms. It just makes me realize they r scamming us in the states. I thought about biking but I would like to get surgery first. I hope my shape remains but on a smaller scale. I wonder if u are an apple now, after surgery could ur shape change.

Where You Ever A Naysayer?
SleeveandRNYchica posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have to admit, I was. I was one of those people that thought about bypass, but never did it because it seem so extreme to me. That was in 2003. I loss weight and got to a comfortable 223 (still fat), but lived there and just excepted that was my life. I was active, I exercised and had great labs. So here I am back at 259-260 and going through the sleeve process. I admit I have had several friends that had RNY and I was always supportive, but always stated it was not for me. Now I am dealing with my own hypocritical feelings. I said I would NEVER do this.....NEVER is a mightly long time. I always believe in life everything ain't for everybody. So I am sure some people in my life will call me a hypocrite. I will deal with that when the time comes. Anyone else feel the same way prior to making this decision? -
Are you getting lasered? I am and I love it! That is why I will not take Biotin after my surgery. It makes hair grow in places I do not want it to grow.

Last appt tomorrow with the psychiatrist. I may be crazy by the time all this is over. In and out different doctors offices since July 18.
