    Need encouragement! With Beer

Estoy de acuerdo..... My belly is not the issue it would be my hips and ass! Maybe if I was perfect I could tell you not to drink beer, but I don't even claim to be perfect. I do my best on this journey......I believe everything in moderation.

    Need encouragement! With Beer

Sorry that wasn't really encouragement maybe cut down to 2 a week until goal instead of 2 a day. Save it for a treat day.

    Need encouragement! With Beer

I am a beer girl at heart! Grew up in Germany. I haven't tried it since surgery. You can drink it with no issues?
  5. Yeah I am almost 6 months out and I am getting noticed finally too. I had two chicks at work that I don't know attack me when I was walking out of the gym. They wanted to kno how I lost weight so quick! Lmao! Quick this has not been quick and I have been busting my azz in the gym! It is slower than what I anticipated. I have a hundred lbs to lose so 20 doesn't attract much attention. on 170lb person that would be very noticible! It will come off. The hardest thing is not to compare yourself to others. This is a very individual journey.

Why am I a Slowwwwwwwww loser?

http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/67052-successful-slow-losers-please-respond/page__st__20#entry725528 Here is the link to the thread^^^^^^ By Cheri - Clk (hope you don't mind) every sleevers should remember this, "I think that in reality, many that feel unhappy with "slow loss" are losing at the normal, medically suggested rate of loss. It's the comparison with people that manage to lose more than a hundred pounds in less than a year that has us feeling like there is something wrong with our pace or success." Thanks again Cheri!!!!!

Why am I a Slowwwwwwwww loser?

Cheri (veteren sleever) posted in another "slow looser" thread I am reading and she stated it the best: this is not a quote, but it went something like we are losing in line with the medically stated guidelines so in essence we are not slow loosers. I am on my crack/wackberry right now, so when I get home I will find what she wrote because it is so true!
  10. Cheri- that is what I have been trying to say and you worded it so perfectly! That statement is key. I think if more people live by that understanding they will be in a happier state.

    Boot Camp anyone?

Finished Diva's Boot Camp yesterday down 3.6lbs and 4.6lbs since Sunday!!! This is the biggest loss since Week 1! What I learned, 1) drinking water is still my challenge 2) I cannot start my day with a yogurt or carb, it leads to a hungry feeling that is hard to shake 3) I am traditionally a "slow loser" so I am, working on excepting that fact and 4) I don't want to live my life without carbs, but I want to make good carb decisions (make them count) 5) logging my food a day prior helps me stay on track 6) I am happy with myself that I am working out regularly!
  14. Good luck! You will do great. The first few days may be challenging but remain positive and remember why you did this. The positivity helps a lot!

Why am I a Slowwwwwwwww loser?

You are welcome. I think us "slow" losers shy away for many reasons, sad, but true. I think there are more of us than we probably realize. My surgeon reminded me of the stats, 70% of excess weight in the first 12-18 months and it could take up to 2 years to reach goal. I hope it doesn't take me two years , but it is still faster than my year of nutritional planning and working out with a 15lb loss that I gained back on vacation. I am so thankful for my sleeve whether it takes me 12-24 months to reach goal!
  16. Yeah I think everyone is different. I can tolerate everything from red meat to pork to sweets!!! I do notice however if I reheat chicken or pork it goes down ruff the next day. It is way to dry. I also eat bread with no issue.

Why am I a Slowwwwwwwww loser?

Pear shaped that's me! My hips and arse ain't moving... My name is Tamara and I am a slow loser LMAO! My doc thinks I am on target and that is all that matters. We are on the sleeve forum not the bypass forum! I don't know why there is a belief that we are slow! The sleeve produces slower results. Not everyone will get to goal in 6 months and I be damned to feel like a failure! I had to step away from the forum to regroup and realize that I am an individual. This journey is different for us all. We GOT this!!!! Hail to the "slow" losers!!!!

    Share your "slow loss" success!

Cheri what a great post and THANK YOU! I have been here and on other forums when it is implied the person must be doing someone wrong. On another forum the lady actually said that she has NEVER gone more than 10 days because she works out and logs her food. I was so irritated by that. I think people need to realize how different we all are. I have not eaten 500 calories a day in a long time! For me that doesn't cut it. I didn't have this surgery to starve myself, but to live and stop obsessing.

    Share your "slow loss" success!

Doxieville! I totally agree. I was stressed because I thought my surgeon would be disappointed in me. However, he and my NUT were happy! I thought I was a slow loser and it is more by forum standards. The surgeon reminded me that the stats say 70 percent of excess loss in 1 year to 18 months and it could take up to two years to reach goal. So by those standards I am almost 50 percent there 5 months out. I had stop coming around too because of the slow losses complaints. I find that people are more likely to comment on those that are perceived to have "fast" success than those that lose a bit slower. IMO!

Finally I weight less than my husband!

Yeah I weigh less than mine now and I am so happy! Great NSV!
  22. Per all the research I have done regarding the sleeve a person can lose 70 percent of their excess weight within the first year to 18 months and it can take up to 2 years to lose 100 percent. I just think sometimes people get so down on themselves about slow losses and it can have a negative impact on ones journey. Also I find that too many people compare themselves to others on the forum and we are all so different. I am not trying to make you feel bad, but just bringing a little reality that not everyone loses at the same rate.

    Boot Camp anyone?

So today is going much better since I started with dense protein. Mio is helping greatly. I should have 9 glasses in by the time I leave work! This is day three and I am hoping for great results on Sat's weigh in. Hubby and I are going on movie date Friday and we agreed to take jerky and almonds.

    Boot Camp anyone?

1st lesson learned- I will never eat a chobani yogurt to start my day. Way to many sugars and carbs and it made me hungry. I need a more dense form of protein, egg whites, chicken, fish etc. Even though I wanted to cheat, I did not. I just bulked up my salad for lunch. I ate 975 calories today , 39 carbs, 94 proteins, and 30 sugars (damn yogurt was bulk of that). I am still slacking on water at 64 oz. I am struggling getting more!

    What's with rating personal profiles?

You have 5! Won't you sleep better tonight? Lol I never noticed either and I was self conscience until I looked and realized I have 5. It is kinda crazy though!!! How do you "vote" for a profile?
