    Bluepoint Surgical Group

I was delayed a month just trying to get requirements which I already knew about anyway. I am in the nutritional phase so I don't have to deal with her!

    Bluepoint Surgical Group

Bluepoint gave me all the costs upfront all though there is one person in the practice that is not very responsive, it is very annoying.

Gained most of my weight back

So not surprising. Especially by so many of the posts I see on various forums I would not do canned soup, high in sodium. I have never done the pouch test and know my pouch is distended, so it wouldn't work for me. You can throw some chicken with bone in a pot with veggies and make soup. It is super good!

This!!! They did not play and sent me in immediately for endoscopy after I was diagnosed. I found a bariatric dr that was willing to listen to my concerns...

Gained most of my weight back

The part that confuses me is that we have surgery not to have play the "diet" game per se. Get 60-80 grams of Protein, eat that 1st, most carbs should come from veggies, increase calories, drink Water... It seems so simple, right? But even in the so called "honeymoon" period that was not enough for some. Then you have people that reach goal in 10 months saying did you so this or that or so on...not pointing fingers at anyone in the thread...that is why people disappear, the unsuccessful ones...the ones that committed to a process, had surgery and still feel they failed. It is beyond frustrating and something I deal with with behavior specialist. Needless to say some people have an "easier" time out the gate... I put that in quotes because I don't take anyone's journey lightly. But We would be remised to ignore the fact there is the percentage that make it to goal without some of the struggles others face. I am so happy that I have a second chance at the bypass although the medical Issues I currently have are not fun. I don't think I could have done too much differently, except maybe not getting pregnant a year post op. I hope that my sleeve experience can enlighten those that put in that good faith effort and did not succeed.

Gained most of my weight back

My surgeon is in Latin America, I found a new one. I had my surgeon send my report to me. He was amazing and my NUT there was amazing too. I had to do all the surgery requirements there, just like here in the US.

Gained most of my weight back

I had an endoscopy and it showed that my sleeve is twisted like a corkscrew, that's the best way I can describe it. There is a bit of a pouch on the end of it. (I don't like using the word pouch, but that's what the surgeon called it). The food is not emptying properly, it backs up. So it causes the Gerd and has caused slight sleeve distention (stretching).... I also had a barium swallow. So my surgeon does believe a revision is my best option. As far as I can find on sleeve Angulation it is a late term side effect.....oh and I have a nice size Hiatal Hernia... I was a very slow loser with the sleeve, however I did loose 50% of my excess weight (w/pre-op). I am just not sure even without getting pregnant if I would have made it to goal and I think 1200 cal would be my limit. I never thought it would be easy, but I also never thought it would be this hard. I never experienced a honeymoon phase. I lost weight month 1, but lost nothing in months 2 & 3. I was very active in the forum and had a difficult time processing why my journey seemed so hard the 1st 9 months. I am currently seeing NUT again and will start attending group for post surgery patients. We always see a lot if the great success stories here. I think those like me, stop participating because the outcome was not what was expected or never see goal. Even if you are doing everything right, by drs orders and then come to the forums the remarks can be discouraging. There is a huge percentage of people that obviously fail because they did not do what they were suppose to do. But trust, there are those of us that are out here that had a difficult time out the surgical suite. And yes, I got pregnant 8 months earlier than my surgeons recommended time frame....so I will slap my own hand for that.

Gained most of my weight back

This could not have been written any better than this!!! I have struggled day 1 since my sleeve in October of 2012. I saw all these people losing crazy weight fast and I was following guidelines to a T! I worked my butt of in the gym. I was losing so slow my weight loss stalled at about 10 months post op, but I did have a huge life changing move. Then I got pregnant. I have seen many women continue to lose while they are pregnant. Not me. I gained. I was strict about my diet because I was border line gestational. After the birth of my child, I noticed the heartburn did not diminish. I also noticed that I could eat more. Which was interesting because my capacity was really limited being pregnant. I have since found out that my sleeve is angulated and I have a hernia. I was blaming myself for so much of my issues and when the dr explained it to me I realized a lot of the internal had nothing to do with what I was doing. I told my mom that I felt like I was a failure and she said to me, that there is medical justification for what is happening to me. I think sometimes people don't want to believe there are instances that the surgery just doesn't have the same amazing results for some. I am not saying the sleeve is not a great tool because I loss 43lbs with it. It just didn't work for me the way it worked for others. While I worked our presleeve and post sleeve I know people that never lifted as much as a finger and lost pounds more than me. We are all different.

Breast smaller due to weight loss

thank you for replying, i honestly want mine to shrink lol if u dont mind answering what size were u and what size are u now and is there anything u regret or wish u would of knew thank you for replying, i honestly want mine to shrink lol if u dont mind answering what size were u and what size are u now and is there anything u regret or wish u would of knewI was wearing 22W jeans and XL/XXL tops. Now I'm in size 5 or 7 jeans and M /sometimes S tops. Along with my boobs I lost my butt so my jeans are slim cut rather than relaxed fit. I included my 12 month before and after pics (still the same at 18 months) I am thrilled with my surgery and everything that came with it. I researched for months and read thousands of threads on this and other WLS boards, so nothing really came as a surprise (other than how easy it's all been). Never had one minute of regret. image.jpg You got abs and biceps!! You look amazing!!!

    Just made decision!

I have FEPBlue aka Fed BC/BS basic. There is a 3 month nutrition requirement, 2 year weight history, psychological exam, and letter of necessity. Your surgeon may also require other test such as EKG, endoscopy, labs, sleep study. It is best if you have it a blue distinction center, they pay more.
  15. I just cannot get over the comments people make. As a Babbs said I think we are used to seeing overweight people it looks "normal." Me, myself can't imagine my self at 200lbs, so I know I will probably be in counseling for a minute when I get to goal, but for someone to vocalize such a rude comment.
  16. OMG I really am lost for words :-(

How has it been with your self image. I hear people say it is hard to adjust to new self? Was that difficult for you? In my mind I think anything under 200lbs is small lol. I can not imagine myself at 150lb.I am in love in love in love with myself. I feel like a super model. I don't have a whole lot of loose skin but what I do have I don't let bother me. I've dated a few people since my surgery (I'm single) and it was great, I just didn't let the flaws get to me. When I walk into a room men turn and look and I feel like a million zillion dollars. I can wear almost anything and I can wear heels. I do my makeup and hair everyday, I feel amazing!!!! I've had some complications since my surgery and I still don't regret it one tiny bit. It's the best thing I could have done. I'm joyful and I Celebrate myself and feel free in my new body. And I am so grateful for all of it!! That is sooo awesome!!! Sending you a virtual high 5!
