There are concerns with each surgery and complications. I just was more prepared going into my sleeve. I am now concerned about other things having RNY which would not be the case if this was my first surgery.

Pregnancy layer in life
SleeveandRNYchica replied to Leesa926's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
I got pregnant post sleeve at 38. I had my sleeve when i was 37. I got pregnant 1 year post op. My gyn thought it would take longer. It didn't. I would not recommend it unless you are close or at goal. I have had so many issues post pregnancy and I am going in for revision. Be sure to try to wait the recommended time. -

Damn, if she looks dangerously overweight, I might need to plan my funeral. -
Star Jones weight gain (80 lbs)
SleeveandRNYchica replied to hopefullythininme's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yeah, I was gonna say in the most recent picture I have seen of her it did not look like she gained 80lbs. -
I had the sleeve in 2012. I was perfect sleeve candidate. I did not have GERD and no comorbities. I got pregnant post sleeve and I regained all my weight back. I have developed GERD and my sleeve is twisted. I also developed a hiatal hernia which I do not attribute to my sleeve. I am having revision surgery to RNY in October 3 years almost to the date of my sleeve surgery. Should have, would have, could have RNY to begin with. I never wanted to have a 2nd surgery. I do believe drs often times do not like performing sleeve on those with bad GERD to begin with. There are many successful sleevers and lapband to sleevers. Good luck in your decision.

Approvals with BCBS Federal
SleeveandRNYchica replied to rln52's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It should not take then a month to notify that is crazy. I guess my coordinator expects a 2 week turn around because they have me tentatively scheduled based on it. The point of my post was what we talked about earlier, the office claiming they submitted and the insurance saying they have no record of my info. -

I just called precertification department and they have no record of receiving my paperwork. Looks like it will be the 14th vs. the 7th. -

If you don't care why bother commenting? Why waste your time commening on how youre not bothered? Laughable if it wasn't so pathetic. @@dhrguru If you want to talk about how you're weight loss has impacted on your relationship, or how its made you feel in your relationship feel free to do so. Some people just feel the need to add another tag on thier snarky jacket, so their gang can agree. Haha! Snarky Jacket . I love that Kate!

Okay, so it's not something new. If it was then maybe we could say he jealous or worried about your new found body, but it's who he is. He must show love in other ways, hence why you have been married to him for 10 years! Keep doing you. He will hear others compliment you and he may or may not follow. You are doing great.

There are some nasty people on this site. The very reason people cycle through so quickly. I asked a question, no need to get huffy and puffy. I swear I think so many on here must be miserable in their day to day lives because it shines through clearly.

It's a rant and rave section! So are there specific rants and raves that are allowed? She felt the need to rant. So she did.

No confidentiality about posts on Bariatric Pal! Shows up on Google search

You would have to manually delete each post. What you can do is change user name and remove your photo. It is the reason I post very little information pertaining to myself including photos. Good luck! -
Something about this rubbed me the wrong way. Keep in mind that my vent here this is only a fraction of our life. It speaks nothing to how we've connected and grown as a couple or the life we've made for ourselves. There are many aspects where he's great, this whole WLS arena is new (for me and him) so it means finding our footing. If your life/relationship is pure rose petals and sunshine-- good for you-- but storms can and do come. Everyone weathers them differently. The only scale my husband will be meassred on is mine-- none other turly matter You're the one who said he was a jackass... now we can't agree with you?? Okayyyy. I never said i didn't call him that- and you'll see that I agreed with awjones when she characterized him the same. But I said *something* about VSGAnn's comment rubbed me the wrong way. Something-- some random unknown and possibly baseless reason... not solidified in fact or truth in any way, shape, or form. Maybe she's coming from the same exact mind set I was able to connect with awjones on-- but it just didn't come off that way to me. That's all. One said jackass, the other a*****e lol. Just because your husband is lacking in one arena that you find important doesn't diminish all the other ways he shows your love. That is the problem with venting online to strangers that know nothing about you and your complete story of life. They only hear a portion of what is going on. No one and no relationship is without fault. Did he compliment you pre-surgery on a new outfit or hairdo or new job?

Perception and Shooting Our Own Wounded
SleeveandRNYchica replied to Folly's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
For me my first reaction is sadness. I feel bad for the individual(s). I also wonder if people are in my grocery cart judging me. I actually have always shopped healthy especially since having children as I don't want them to suffer with weight issues. I always wonder at what point a person decides enough is enough. Edit to add: I could always be bigger, so I try not to past judgement. -

Former csection mommies
SleeveandRNYchica replied to MollyF22's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Raises hand - my c-section especially the 2nd one was way worse than my sleeve recovery. I couldn't get out of bed for several weeks post c-section without help.
