    Day 4 Post Op

I'm a few days a head of you. They also repair a hernia on me as well during surgery. My stomach did not really hurt after surgery, what was the worse was my shoulders and all the air that was pumped into me for surgery. I am now on the modified liquids and everything everything seems to be going down with no problems. I will admit though I am still taking 1/2 dose of pain meds since I tend to sleep on my stomach. Good luck! Lets stay in touch.

I actually found Premium Protein shakes. 30g protein with only 1 gram of sugar. And even better they taste great.

    Getting Out Of Bed

I must not be normal... I came home 26 hours out of surgery with very little pain. I do have 2 squishy pillows that I have been sleeping with under my belly. I have not had any issues getting up from bed or anything else. I really suggest getting up and walking as soon as possible after surgery and keep going. I think I feel so much better since I got up and walked the halls of the hospital as much as possible. Also anther suggestion. Take you pjs and ask to put them on as soon as allowed. I think being in my clothes and walking the halls both did a great deal to me feeling so good. Good luck and keep us posted. Btw I am 7 days out of surgery and walking at least 1/2 mile a day to keep moving. I get tired quickly but feel great and no pain.

    Started My Liquids

I am now a week out and do not know what the scale says yet. As far as hungry I have not been at all but there are things I am kind of craving even though I am still on clear liquids and know the 1 or 2 items that sound good are not on the plan for at least a few weeks. I agree there is a emotional aspect to all of this. The better your at home support is the better you will do. Having my husband with me for the visit with the nutritionist prior to surgery really helped. He understands what I am going through.
