The Funhouse Mirror Effect
Cooper123 replied to Jean McMillan's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Magazine
Great article Jean !!! I think we all struggle with the scale, but the more weight I lose, the healthier I feel and that's an amazing feeling, so forget about mirrors because even a different angle can change your whole perspective. -
the one I got was only $1.99

I started it about two weeks ago but I'm on week three already ( I jumped one week by mistake) . But I love it!!! it's a great app. Good luck with it.

Keep Fussing And I Will Keep Posting!!! Love Ya!!!
Cooper123 replied to shrcumm's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I think that there is a place and time for everything, and when it comes to religion or politics it's always better to be respectful and cautious when voicing your opinion on a public forum. This doesn't mean that you don't have the right to voice your opinion but to realize that you might make others uncomfortable or even offend them by doing so. and that's a very thin line that we should all be careful not to cross. Keep in mind that bringing religion or politics to a Lap band forum is not exactly expected but if you do it, it would be better to do it on the appropiate section of the forum, that way you can send your message to a better target audience and respect the ones that do not share your beliefs. About personal attacks to each other on this forum I think they're absolutley unnecessary and go against the idea of a place like this. Banderama, I do agree you should have a sugar free popsicle, would you like to have it with me -
Wow ! low blow banderama !!... but I got a little on you too smartie pants....

If you're worried about it, it means that you're on the right track, try not to cheat... (Katie ) But DO try to keep your stomach clean before the surgery as this would help the band settle even better. Good luck!

Random Thoughts......weird Cravings?
Cooper123 replied to fostermomma's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well, maybe is not the anxiety of the band, maybe you're pregnant!! congratulations !!! I think is normal to have weird cravings right before surgery, specially since you've probably been on a liquid diet for two weeks. -
I think it's a very personal decision. But you should feel very proud of taking control of your life so early on and not wait until you get older and have developed several weight related illnesses. Just for that, you should have no trouble facing the negative comments. Congratulations!

Wow, all of you guys give great advice !!! I got my surgery three days before you lindabug and I went trough the same thing as you're going. But you can do it, just take it one day at a time and talk to your doctor about what you're feeling and how much you're eating, he will be able to help you accordingly. You're on the right path, be proud of that!!!

I Don't Care What Your Situation Looks Like!!!
Cooper123 replied to shrcumm's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
The message is to Trust God. And if you need a reminder take out a dollar bill (it says "in God we trust"), same thing on a court room. It also means that if you can't feel the presence of God inside of you, then you can just go anywhere outside and see his work everywhere to remind you that He is everywhere. Did I win, did I win??? -
Awesome Stephanie, congratulations!!!!

I'm also healing from a minor incision infection. my scar became red and started to hurt. I went to the doctor and he cut it and drained the infection and left it open. He prescribed me 10 days of antibiotics, that was last wednesday, the next days it got worse and slowly started to get better, today it was much better, no more fluid coming out and it's not red anymore. The best thing to do is to see your doctor as soon as you see something wrong with your incisions, it can save you a lot of trouble. I've read a lot of those port infection threads and it's really scary.

I was banded July 23rd, I must be aound 265lbs by now, I only weight myself on thurdays. That would make about 47lbs of lost weight. I have only one filling (5cc's) and I also fell like I need more, I've been very good with my portions but today I ate more than I should have Also I've been excercising everyday.

207 Lbs Gone... 10 Lbs To Go
Cooper123 replied to FLORIDAYS's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
That's really amazing Floridays !!! you must be so proud, you look sooo beautiful !!! Conngratulations !! -
Funny story, I also woke up clear headed and with no pain at all. I didn't say anything but I remember thinking: who changed my robe and shaved me??? and why don't I have any underwear?? It was so embarrasing......

Hi Thunder, I understand how frustrating life can get at times, and I think we all go trough what you are at some point in our journeys, but that is exactly what it is, a long journey. You will have good days and bad days, but in the long run you will be successful, Everyday is a new opportunity to be better, to shine and to enjoy life. So like everyone else here said, forgive yourself and start over and you'll feel so much better, I promise.

I also called my doctor and he told me not to do anything out of the ordinary and to go on liquids for 24 hours after the fill. I know there are some bad experiences out there, but they're not the norm, don't be afraid, you already did the hard part. Keep us posted.
-
Yeah, tomorrow is gonna be one month and I am so excited about it. I couldn't be happier about making this decision and you will be to. Keep us posted of your ups and downs, it's important to keep each other motivated.

Congratulations on making the right choice. I hope you do amazing! 3 weeks on Optifast seems like a little too much, I did only two weeks, the good thing is that those shakes are really tasty and after the second day I didn't have cravings but then the last two days I wanted something salty so I would make me a cup of chicken broth and that would help my cravings.

I had my first fill last thursday. The Nurse asked me to lay down face up and while she was talking to me she was feeling my belly and she found the port like in 4 seconds. She asked me to lift my t-shirt and she gave me 5cc. I didn't feel a thing.

Not having restriction is really hard, specially since most of us are coming from a two week liquit diet. I actually gained weight during the last week before my first filling. I already lost it all again and then some. It gets easier, hang in there missmudd!!
