  1. Eating so much less and working out - but I'm not losing anything yet.

  2. Yes- same problem. I was banded 2/7/13 - and I had this pulling feel and surface burning feel around the area of the port - during any - sitting/working out/walking - and especially during any time the my legs came up to my chest. When I finally went in for my fill on 3/12/13 - they told me my port moves a little -so I'm thinking this is the cause. I had to be poked 4 times for them to get the fill in - and I don't think all the saline went it b/c she had such a problem holding the port still - not really feeling the restriction. It's not so bad anymore - but some times if I pull the wrong way I can feel the pull.

This is back in 2008 - lost a lot of weight after my first son. I was a little over 200 lbs but very happy with how I looked.

    Pre op diet.. Need help

Premier Protein- it's at Sam's Club and Costco - 12 shakes for $18.88 - 30g of protein. I just started the liquid today. I'm suppose to 3 three shakes a day plus a lean and green meal(6oz lean protein and 3/4 cup greed veggie). Having the higher protein should make it easier for you. I'm a stay at home more so I'm used to snacking and just eating whenever I fancy - so I know how you feel. But it's suppose to be a lot easier after day 4

Wow! Just was looking at your profile - you really give me hope about the weight loss. It's always those last 10 lbs that are the hardest! Best of luck!

    Annoyed !

Jen - agreed. For the most part everyone is supportive - I was just appalled by her reaction. I have two kids. My oldest is special needs and I worry about not being around for him when he's older b/c of my unhealthy life style. I told this friend that she should be supportive and should want me to be healthier and that I need to be there for my kids in the future...etc....she was like "fine, I'll be supportive" - but she voices her anti-surgery band any time I bring it up. I told her I wouldn't be having it until after her wedding...so she should be happy..lol. I keep telling her I'm going to stop talking to her after the wedding..she thinks I'm joking.

    Annoyed !

I am in a friend's wedding in October and my consult is next week. I told my "friend" the bride to be that I was going to have it done. She kinda freaked out on me - it what it boiled down to was that she didn't want me to be skinnier than her...she actually said that. She's not supporting me at all and said that I can never eat again. I told her I've had a long relationship with food and over eating and that I was ready for it to be over. I can't wait till her wedding is done with....gonna trim the fat in other areas of my life.

Liquid Diet Pre And Post Surgery

My surgeon also said the pre-op diet was to get the liver ready. When they go in to do the surgery the liver has to be moved out of the way...and if it's too heavy it can cause problems. He said one time he had a liver "snap" - it was prepared and everything - but that's why he insists on making ppl doing the pre-op diet.

    Gallbladder Removal?

I had my gallbladder out in October 2007. I had been dieting before hand using Phentermine and lost 65 lbs in 4 months. Me losing that much weight that quickly cause my gallstones...they were like gravel. Surgery is a breeze and then you get to go home. Just make sure you stay up right for several days. They pump a lot of air into you to do the procedure and it can cause discomfort in your shoulders and neck. And be careful eating broccoli afterwards....it's the hardest food to digest and if I eat too much or it too quickly my abdomen hurts - I've heard that's common after gall bladder surgery from various ppl.
