  1. My surgeon said it was ok to use my Cpap. I have the one called cplex I think. It blows at my prescribed pressure when I inhale and stops when I exhale. I had no problems and even used after surgery overnight in the hospital. Sent from my iPad using VST

    Grocery List?

Box of sugar free Popsicles, sugar free Jello, bottle Water and crystal ightbpowder packs, chicken broth. As far as Protein powders it's gonna be trial and error as it comes down to individual tastes. I found I like Promasil so far the best, it's sold at GNC. Very little filler so I don't get overly bloated and only 90 calories. Mixes pretty good with just water and i find the taste ok where others had made me gag. Sent from my iPad using VST

    Pissed

I can understand coworkers who know you casually not saying anything. They might think its too personal or want to avoid any HR issues by asking possible inappropriate questions. Sent from my iPad using VST

    One Month Out July Sleevers

Only had to wait month for solid foods. I'm almost 6 weeks out everything going well. Can eat anything as far as textures but only just like three bites at a time. That's my magic number. I take three bites and walk away for a few...and then I fell fine and don't accidentally over eat. Sent from my iPad using VST

    Silly Question

@otrsleever. I don't think she meant "normal" like being able to consume large amounts of food anymore. Im thinking she means like not having pain, or getting headaches, or having nausea, etc. You probably read ino her question more than she was asking. Sent from my iPad using VST

    My Food Funeral.

Surgeon did not have me on pre-op diet. Just npo after midnight day before surgey. I did eat very light that day. Guess not all surgeons make their patients do the pre-op diet. Sent from my iPad using VST

  14. My wife and I are both patients of Dr. Marvin since 2008. I got lap band and she followed 3 months later. Over the next couple years we both lost about 75 pounds. Due to her weight loss, she needed her gall bladder removed which Dr Marvin performed as well. She was fine for about 8 months then her band had erooded and she became septic and emergency surgey it was removed by Dr. Marvin. She went to ER on a Sunday night...she was transferred from clear lake regional to UGH and the very next morning Dr. Marvin was there to perform the emergency surgery. She had to wait a year but then opted for the sleeve. August 2012 will make one year post sleeve and she has lost 90 pounds and is doing good. My story now. I had the lap band and lost 75 pounds and everything was going good until I started having issues with gerd about 3.5 years out. I got approval through insurance to remove band and get sleeved. I had my band emptied for two months and then had band removed and gastric sleeve both done on July 10' 2012. So I'm am now on day seven. Oh and while he was in there, he also repaired a hiatal hernia. I have seen first hand the success my wife has had and look forward to my new life. Dr. Marvin and his staff are great. My wife who is a nurse has referred 6 of her coworkers to him and they satisfied as well. One of those coworkers had the sleeve three weeks ago and another couple weeks ago and then myself , last week and we are all doing fine. I am sure there are other great qualified surgeons out there but we are both happy we decided on Dr. Marvin . No regrets whatsoever.
