Dont throw stones at glass houses
selbradey replied to selbradey's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
See, my biggest pet peeve is people who have the cahonas to pass judgement on others or to critisize others....oh to be a fly on the wall when they cheat and eat bad stuff then we could throw plastic balls at them...."whos perfect now b****es"??? -
At home i can add some chili powder and a pinch of sea salt, and cheese. I will put some in my glove box lol

5 Confessions (Join In)
selbradey replied to ebthompson2010's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Fiddleman, I am 8 weeks out and I am only counting Protein grams and trying to get Water in. I am just vigilant about nutrition labels, sugar content etc. I associate this experience with learning to drive or ride a bike. You get the hang of it and have your own system. Now, posting more confessions because sometimes I love it. 1) I confess that my constant thinking about food and addiction is over. Making strides. I am a diagnosed binge eater (the actual disorder) and for this, I am greatful to be out of disordered thinking (Thanks to my awesome therapist). 2) I confess that I need to pay off the rest of divorce debt, and move out of parents house, after I get a full time addictions counseling gig. I am terrified and excited 3) I confess that I crave no no foods and have found bariatric healthy alternatives that I enjoy to all of them. 4) I confess that I feel like I was blessed and given the gift of the sleeve 5) Aunt flow is visiting, so I am going to go make some sugar free fat free chocolate pudding for us. -
Dianne38, I am great at finding alternatives for food cravings....you can always inbox me or email me for ideas. :-)

Exactly, use lean ground turkey, make it palm size, use reduced fat cheddar, half the serving to cut calories, and add a sliver of onion, tomatoe and low fat mayo. I would say its a total of 175 calories and loaded with protein. There is always a bariatric version to a craving. Omit the bread, its gonna take up space for protein

Fyre, you are doing great. I actually have to thank you for relieving my pre-op jitters night before surgery your post made me laugh all the way into the OR! I told my therapist that when i go out un prepared, i get anxiety. She said meal planning helps and prepping my food in a lunch baggy will too. Im single, but if i had a partner, i would teach them what foods i can have and maybe let them surprise me Also, in learning to read food labels and making good choices, i can be a lil spontaneous as long as i know what the ingredients and fat/sugar/protein content are. Good luck -
Love your posts cheri! Very realistic. As someone in intense therapy for binge eating disorder, and only referring to my sleeve as a tool, i am changing my relationship with food . I used to lie to myself, judge others and starve most of the day, eating only high calorie crap once a day and justifying it (in my head) through this journey the sleeve has taught me to eat every few hours, to listen to my bodys signals of fullness, to noirish myself with higher quality foods, and if i feel like having a dessert or something decadent, to have a small taste or make my own low fat sugar free version of it. I was telling my therapist yesterday that i now feel more empathetic towards people who struggle with weight. It is not easy no matter what road we take. And, for those that are going to be judgemental, like cheri said, they are just deep seated in denial and their own fears. I say, enjoy the krispy kreme dear. Moderation and balance is acheivable, creating new habits is possible. And screw judgemental people, i cant stand em lol.
