I've been obese since I was five. I've been up and down with my weight and my heaviest was 374 in 2011. I've lost about 50 pounds since then with a combination of low carb dieting, exercising, and unmentionable methods. My decision to pursue bariatric surgery came after trying so hard to lose weight in 2012. I have struggled so much this year and knew that something had to change. I'm not even 30 years old and immediately lay in the fetal position in my bed after working a desk job all day...a desk job. My back hurts. My knees hurts. I see what my future will be as I watch my father struggle with diabetes and my mother go through her second total knee replacement in 6 months. Something clicked in my brain that it was now or never. The stars have aligned and now I am tentatively scheduled for my sleeve surgery on January 15th. I look forward to this journey and know that 2013 will be my year! B)
