Seriously Need To Vent!!!
Wgbem replied to lovinjacobe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree, not to mention, he stayed to assist and care for her. Don't use her surgery as an excuse to be off. Please take care of yourself my dear. As hard as it can be, do not lift the baby as you can be at risk for complications. -
Yes enjoy the rest and relaxation!

You will be fine. Keep us all posted. -
Please know that you are doing something great for your health and your future. You have decided at an early age to put yourself first instead of thinking that anything that pertains to you could go on the back burner. You did not wait until the aches and pains of arthritis and other disorders have set in to limit your movement and ability to exercise. Treasure this moment. As I tell my own young lapbander, this is not an easy journey but know you have changed your life forever. Don't let anyone make you feel bad, saying you took the easy way out but understand the strength it took to reach for something like this to better your life. Just know you have a family here that supports you and are very proud of you for having taken such a big step. Reach out to us for strength if you need it. God bless!

I think you all are doing a great thing. It is for me the same as when I got her braces. I needed to help my daughter make certain physical corrections such as her teeth that needed help. She now needed help with losing weight. I can only assist her with obtaining these tools. She has to wear her retainer to keep her teeth straight and she has to exercise and follow her nutritional plan to lose the weight. It is just that we wanted her to have the best shot at being the best she could be. I tell you she looks great with 20 lbs off. Again please feel proud of what you have done to change the health direction of your life. It is the best thing you could have done. I have diabetes and hypertension. Since lapband I have been off my diabetes medication and one of my 2 BP medications and hope to be off the remaining one and this is only with 27 lbs off. I am excited for my own life as well. -
When I first had surgery I felt some restriction then after a few days nothing. I am on my 3rd fill after my September surgery but I am feeling like I am getting to that green zone.

I was a none insulin dependent diabetic but well controlled on Metformin. I left the hospital off of that med and one of my BP meds. I am very stable but am very careful about sugar intake. Read your labels, especially with the protein shakes and bars. I exercise 3-4 times daily. My last A1c was 5.6. I am feeling great. This is only with 27lbs off. Hang in there. You will get it under control.

New To Site - Quick Question
Wgbem replied to MommaFox's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have not had this experience but call your doctor. There is always someone on Are you a diabetic? Have you checked your blood sugar? I came home off my meds but check my blood sugar regularly. Blurred vision can occur if your blood glucose is high. -
Sometimes we forget to wash that area not wanting to stir anything up but if it continues to drain, call your doctor.

Wgbem posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my third fill today. I had using my scale and it was showing that I did not lose weight. I got to the doctor's office and found out that I am finally below the 300 mark...I am do happy. I am going to stop using my scale and just take my weigh ins. I am so happy! -

Well my 21 year old just was banded 11/14 and she has felt at times, that she is and has been judged by the decision she made. One of her friends was actually upset that she got the band. Not sure what that is about except that people are fine as long as you stay the fattest chick in the room but try to change that and people's attitudes change. Heck I was banded in September and others are upset with me. I will never regret the band. If you do not mind me asking how much have you lost? -
Regarding exercise start where we all started-walking. It is the best.

You guys hang in. You have done well. Don't stop now. Please continue to lead the way for the rest of us.

Yes OJ is acidic and may irritate your stomach. Just make sure you get plenty of fluids. As stated above, your dizziness may be related to dehydration.

Is Anyone Else Having This Problem?
Wgbem replied to Banditiff's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Lol, that will eventually pass and you will be feeling hunger pains. Just continue to sip, sip, sip to prevent dehydration. I started with Clear Liquids for a week, full liquids for a week, then soft/mushies. Welcome to our world. -
Do not start exercise before prescribed by your physician. You can cause complications. I understand how you feel though. I am going on 2 months out and my weight has been at a standstill despite exercising 3 times a week and walking daily (I am a home care nurse).

SueBee01 Thank you so much. Where do you get the exercise bands from?
