need some positve or motivating encouragement
Wgbem replied to msseven's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It was absolutely the best thing I did for my life and my daughter did it too. We are truly enjoying the results. This is so beneficial. We have not vomited or had any complications. I wish you all the best. -
You go girl!

Can't wait to buy something in there besides the body spray.

friend who has had wls now has the most repugnant breath. its unbearable!!
Wgbem replied to Lapbandster's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You should tell her because it is probably GI related. She may need something like Prilosec or something. Please tell her and make sure she follows up with her surgeon. -
I agree with everything but a workout buddy. I have tried that many times and when the buddy falls off, I fall off. The motivation had to be about you and how it makes you feel. Hang in there and as was suggested, pick a good movie and get on the treadmill. Good luck!

I like that, a hard stop. It is a way of the body letting you know you need to stop.

Still Tired and Weak 5 days post op
Wgbem replied to Brandy Hunter-Lee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I stayed out of work for 3 weeks. The body needs time to heal. Depending on the type of work you do, I recommend you rest your body. I also stayed out long enough until I got at least to the mushy stage. I walk daily and if I went back to work during The liquid stage it would have made me sick, -

You have done such a great job. 50 + pounds is a lot of weight. Keep up the good work.

I am really stuck now. I have lost between 35-38lbs and nothing else. I am almost 4 months out. I exercise 3 times daily, track calories but am at a plateau. I need help. I have 8cc in my band and don't think the fill is the problem.

Floridays, Thank you so much for the sample meal plan. Can you provide more samples? -

You look so wonderful. You are such inspiration to us all. -
Is it possible to still need a fill with 8cc already?
Wgbem posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am not sure how I am supposed to feel but with 8 cc I feel like I need another fill. I eat the cup if food but I feel like I can eat more. There are times when I can just stop and be ok with the cup of food and there are times when I feel I need more. Is my head really that our of control? -
I agree with the others, you need to contact you physician.

How did this machine hold up with weight? I see it has a 250lb weight capacity.

I did 3 weeks and am glad I did it. I got a good rest. -
I had my first skinny cow treat and it was great. I wanted something bad because I had started eating a lot of tootsie rolls. While they were not high in calories it did not know when to stop do I have Togo cold turkey

um, my band is broken...
Wgbem replied to BandedBettyBoop's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is when you have to show and develop some self control. I know it is hard because we got the band due to limited self control but you have to want to lose weight more than anything. You will eat your meals then you will drink your Fluid to help fill you up. You will have to find a strength so deep that will help you get through this. We have all been there and from time to time get there again. Hang in there. You will make it. -
How long until you could drive again?
Wgbem replied to dolphintattoo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, when you no longer need to take narcotic pain medications, you can drive, is what I was told. -
I had the surgery in September and my 21 year old daughter got it done in November. I just wanted to make sure all was well before she had it but it was the best thing we both ever did. I have been overweight all my life. I am feeling so great and am off all diabetic meds. I did not want my daughter to go through what my family has gone through. I am her biggest cheerleader but she had to do it for herself. I am so proud of her. Keep your head up. Write us anytime. We support you. Know you have done something great for your life. No matter what age you are there are née Sayers so we are all in the same boat with you.

I just have the burping when I am full. My husband thought it was cute,

Have you talked to your physician about it? You may need some antidepressants. Sometimes you need that to get over the hump. Lapband is such a major process which is why we go through such exhaustive preop regime. Don't be afraid to ask as this is for you, to better yourself. Take care of yourself.
