My husband used sick leave he had and that's why he filed fmla. That way it wasn't held against him when he took off. If your husband can schedule vacation for your surgery and it not be held against him then I would say he wouldn't need to file for fmla protection.

He had to use either his own sick leave or vacation time that he had available to use. A spouse can use up to 80 hours for dependent care a year. They have to use any leave they have accumulated.

My husband took a week off with me... thank god he did.... My dr filled out the FMLA paperwork that his work provided. No issues!!

I agree with DL.... walking has been about it for me too. I have a couple of pair of really good tennis shoes and I just hit it everyday. I did download some apps... daily butt, arm, and ab workouts. They are 7 minutes and I do them sporadically at best. In the past anytime I invested in equipment it became a coat rack... so Im just sticking with good old fashioned walking this time around.

I started losing my hair around the 4th month. I will tell you that it was a major freak out moment when I noticed so much hair just falling out... I was afraid to brush my hair. Put my big girl panties on and Up'd the protein started taking biotin and washing my hair with a biotin based shampoo. Took about a month and now not so noticeable that the hair is falling out. So I am hoping I nipped it in the bud.

Those dang endorphins never kick in for me and yet I know exercise is key. On the weeks where my weight loss has slowed its because I have not gotten off my butt and walked!! All these things together are tools and you have to use them to be successful... What helps me is putting on some tunes and just hitting the track... Don't think about it just DO IT!!!

What great news for you.... It really is such an exciting time as well as a huge milestone for you!!! Congrats

Feeling Isolated Starting The Preop Diet...
kristy3k replied to grapeape1706's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's a socialization thing... At least for me it was. Every family get together has always been centered around a meal or some sort of food... After surgery I really struggled with that... I almost felt sorry for myself when I was so limited on what I could have when everyone else was pigging out... Try thinking or looking at the big picture... I have lost 93 lbs in 5 and 1/2 months... I certainly don't feel sorry for myself now... Just keep always looking towards the future...best of luck... And you can do this!!!! -
What an awesome accomplishment...you must be so proud!!!!

Gosh so sorry... Isn't there something about meat tenderizer that can help dissolve stuff... Hopefully someone else will be more helpful then me... Worse feeling in the world getting something stuck

100+ To Loose
kristy3k replied to LosingItForMe2011's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi guys... I too have over 100 lbs to loose. Pats on the back to al of us who have lost.... I am 5'7" and had my surgery 02/21/12. My starting weight was 340 and I am now at 247.... So 93 lbs gone. Discouraging sometimes because the weight I am now is the weight some people are starting at.... But I'm fighting the good fight as you all are. I'm thankful everyday that I am on this journey...this is a great thread to start!!! -
On the downhill ... Congrats to you!!!

Hang in there!!!! Hopes for a fast recovery heading your way!!
