Been Stalled For 2 Weeks
kristy3k replied to moniquevp5005's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have been at this for 6 months. I have had so many stalls I cant even count them. But I have an app on my phone that keeps track of my weight and it says I have lost 4.2 lbs a week since I started. So not too shabby. Dont give up. You arent doing anything wrong. Your body is adjusting to alot of crap right now including the reduction in calories. In our mind we think okay I am eating a hell of alot less then I used to be and I should be losing like a fiend. Unfortunatly these overweight bodies of ours like to hold onto the fat for as long as it cans, I dont know why. But I guess what I am trying to say is in the grand scheme of things, if you are doing everything you are supposed to be doing that weight is gonna come off. Patience my friends... not an easy virtue but in this game of ours we are in, we have to have it. By the way 107 lbs gone in six months and I stall out at least twice a month. -
The Latest On The Obesity Epidemic
kristy3k replied to DLCoggin's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
The numbers are staggering. I am not surprised. We are a fast food, quick fix nation. We sit our kids in front of a tv like its some sort of baby sitter and then buy them every video game imaginable. I have been guilty of it in the past to be sure. Now when I go walk, it's a family thing. And I must say I enjoy the time with them. I often think, and I have seen it posted on the boards a time or two that if we lived like they did way back when... no tv, more family interaction, chores to be done outside, we would be a healthier leaner better nation. -
That is awesome!!

How Long Before Chicken?
kristy3k replied to dstollery's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The only chicken I can eat is the rotisserie chicken from the deli at walmart. It seems most enough. Its the one thing I didnt think I would have such a problem with but chicken breast I cook for my family just dont work for me. It was about month 2 for me that I could tolerate the rotisserie kind. -
44 here. I have had a life of dieting and trying every magic cure you can imagine. I used to look down on wls as the easy way out and thought anyone who did it was just not disciplined... ha... man we are the most disciplined people I know. All the rules to follow and things to do... Vitamins to take for the rest of our lives. I have always loved being in my 40's. Really felt like it was my time to shine. And my weight loss is just icing on the cake. It is harder to lose weight the older we get, in my opionion. But after losing 107 lbs so far this has been the best decision I have ever made. I am glad to meet some other 40's who are going thru the same things I am. I look forward to sharing with you all during this journey.

Do You Still Feel Hungry/have Cravings?
kristy3k replied to Fishy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh... The cravings are still there just not as bad and really after surgery you can't physically have what you crave. Then down the road you don't hardly ever get cravings or at least I don't. -

Heading To Surgery In A Few Minutes....

The only thing I have been focusing on in my fitness pal has been my protein intake. Then I notice my sugars. What should that number for sugars be for the day and what else should I be watching? I normally hit around 800 calories a day and around 90 grams of protein. I had surgery 02/21/12 and have lost 105 lbs

Eating At Family Events..?
kristy3k replied to preshiz pink's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Eating is a very social thing... After surgery you won't be able to eat... And what you can eat wont amount to very much. Your surgery will be your excuse and your tool to not eat the things you shouldn't. -
