I am choosing to do neither. I have read of too many people gaining the weight back after doing one or both. Why risk it?

When I had surgery almost 8 months ago, the thought of losing 175 lbs seemed like such an impossible pipe dream. Today I am officially down 130 lbs (side note 11 lbs til onederland!!!) and only have 45 more to go. I never in a million years thought I would be living this wonderful life. My health is better, my attitude is better and I feel soooooo much better. Today I bought a large shirt to wear with my size 14 pants. WTH... its crazy to think that almost 8 months ago I was wearing a 3x and size 28 pants that were tight!!! The stalls have been many but the overall outcome has been spectacular. I can hardly wait to hit my goal weight... which I know now is attainable!!!!

about a week and half oh and the more you lose ... the better it gets!!!!

One Month Post Op Menus
kristy3k replied to Maggie0557's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
love my greek yogerts and my baby bel light cheeses. Still have to start my day with a protein shake to get that 35 grams of protein boost to the day!! Now that its getting colder... lovin the chili!! -
I choke down at least one protein shake a day... It is something I have resigned myself to do to get that 35 grams of protein in fast and start my day. I hate it!!! But I hated being really fat too!! Trade offs we all have to make the choices that are right for us. I choose not to go back to eating the "white" aka carbs that made me the tub of lard I was. I choose to follow the drs rules and finally win the fight against fat. Yes, It is all a personal choice. Hopefully we make the right ones. I for one paid too much for this surgery and no not just monetarally to screw up now.

How Has Gastric Bypass Surgery Effected Your Marriage?
kristy3k replied to katiethone64's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Marriage is hard without surgery. Personal experience for me... is my confidence is through the roof and right now I am concentrating on me. After 21 years of marriage he is just gonna have to enjoy the ride. I have put myself on the back burner for far to long. It sounds selfish I know but I just have to work on me right now. Physically its life altering... mentally...whole different ball game. -
You're very sweet Jenn

Frustrated 9Weeks Out
kristy3k replied to thenewme2012's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
First 42 lbs is fricken aswesome. So, congrats. I think as we go thru the process and see how little we eat we think the weight should melt off. But stop and think about previous diets you have been on... I am sure you have heard about starvation mode. Your body is going thru starvation mode. It is holding onto that precious fat for as long as it can. Keep following the program and it will come off... it has to. Just wont be as quick as you want it to. Make sure you are getting 60-90 grams of protein a day and drinking all your water and getting your water in and I promise the weight will come off. We are a society with a we want it now mentallity and unfortunatly patience is key when it comes to this process. You are doing great!!!!
