emotional and upset
kristy3k replied to kisersassy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Girl, you have had such a rough old time. I am so sorry. I believe you... and I think you should go with your gut. Is going to the emergency room an option? -
I like you all have tried fifty jillion ways to lose weight. I have lost a whole bunch of weight on "my own" and gained a bunch back and then some. The way you have to go into this decision is not that it is a magic cure that will make you all of a sudden skinny... It is a tool that has to be used correctly. If you follow you surgeons protocol you will lose weight and keep it off. It does change everything. It is something not to be done lightly. Believe me.. RNY is not for the weak!! There will be stalls... the weight doesnt just fall off... Yes it does come off... but when you can only eat 800 cal a day your mind tells you that you should lose a lot faster then you really do. Some of us cannot eat certain things... some never dump... everyone is different. That is why only YOU can decide if this is right for you. I tell everyone who asks now... if you need to drop a few pounds ... take care of it now before you become like I was and lose all sense of feeling full. Is it life changing... you bet it is!!! I am almost 1 month shy of my year anniversary. I have lost 168 lbs... with 7 pounds to go til my goal weight. Not only has my body gone thru a complete transformation but my mind has too. Like I said... this is not for the WEAK!!! If you choose to go thru with the surgery we will be here to support you. Good luck guys!!!

I wish I had the patience to wait for someone to buy my old clothes. After I finally decided I wasnt ever going back and cleaned out my closet.... I just took to goodwill... talk about a feeling of depression looking at my empty closet.

kristy3k replied to sleevemeup's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yuck... how hard has that been. I just cant even imagine. I took 6 weeks off because I had the time and was FMLA protected. Glad I did... helped me heal and get all my requirements in. -
Overeating since im gonna have surgery
kristy3k replied to Smilejoelle1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did the same thing. It's very common. Just remember the mourning for food will continue after surgery and you will be mad because you cant go out and eat anything you want when everyone around you can. Good luck to all of you. This is a mental as well as very physical journey -

I've not really thought about how late I eat. If I feel like I need something... I eat it. Usually late Im craving peanut butter... so I'll do a tablespoon of the planters nutrition... berry granola flavor seems to hit the spot. -
My girl boobies are saggy ... But boob job is second on the list... My husband wants them to be first but tummy tuck first!!!!! Lol

At the 2 year mark and struggling!
kristy3k replied to Anna's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Most are new on here... or at least what I have seen. I hit my year mark on Feb 21st but have no experienced and yoyo weight gain. Maybe going back to basics and writing everything down??? Good luck and welcome to the boards -
You are not going to like what I am going to say but the reality of this surgery is that it is no Magical cure. You are 3 weeks out... You have to give your shocked body a chance to adjust to what you have done to it. Starvation mode is not uncommon at this point as you have eliminated alot of the calories out of your diet. You are going to have to be patient thru out this whole process... It takes time... Follow the protocol set out by your surgeon and the weight will fall off... Of the 166 lbs I have lost... There were many weeks where my weight just stalled out... But big picture is... I have lost 166 freakin pounds. Hang in there hun... It will come off!!! As for still feeling hungry. The nerve endings of your new pouch are still healing... It will come... Find something else to occupy your mind.. It does help
