Thanks Plum, do you know how often they meet? I can't go tonight. Thanks

Hey Plum, I am from Murfreesboro and I stay in Covington during the week, Job related travel. I have missed my support meetings so much since I have started this job in October. Does Dr. Woodman have a support group? I would love to find one around Covington. Thanks, Laura

NSV! I was in a clothing shope here that was haveing a big clearance sale and thought I would get a few chear items that fit. (I don't want to spend alot on things I do not intend to wear long) Was looking through one of the stand of clothes and a sales lady came up to me and said "You should look over there, you look like a size 6 and there are some real cute size 6 pants that are a very good price" I just smiles and said "THANKS". Now I am not a size six YET, and she might of just been nice trying to make a sale. I dont care.........I loved it. But I did buy a very cute pair of size 8.....to wear until I fit into those size 6 that I also got (at a very good price). Laura

Count me in. I would love to knock of the 19 lbs I have left to go by my 1 year date. But it would be a very big Memoral Day to celebrate if I did it by then.

Hey Brooke, I was banded by Dr. Eckles, 05/02/2007. It has been a great experience for me. Good Luck Laura

Hey All!! How was your easter? Melissa, good for you getting back on track. I had the same problem with working with a bunch of eaters. Candy on every desk and cake etc. in the break room. I know it might sound silly, but, I have a hard fast rule "If I don't bring it, I can't eat it!" I pack my little lunch bag every day. I put my breakfast bar, stuff to mix a shake (just in case my band is cranky), lunch and some snack. I have found it helps me. Everyday I get up I have one major decision to make "what will I eat today" and then I have to plan it out. If I don't, and I go thru my day and when I get hungry, my inner fat little child will be get the upper hand and I will end up eating ice cream. I usually plan the night before and get my bag packed. Sounds silly but it works for me. Another silly thing I do, when I get home from work, I set my egg timer for 1 hour, and I cannot sit down until it goes off. I make myself move, walk, clean house, lift weights etc. I am not allowed to turn on the TV unless it is for a workout video. Funny how you have to treat yourself like a small child in order to change things. I heard somewhere that you if you are trying to change something in you life you have to do it for at least 21 day for it to become habit. I don't know it that is true or not, but I am trying to make healty eating and exercise a habit. Take care all, Laura

I am going to get better about posting, I need this place, I need all of your support. Sandra, congrats about the baby, I am so excited for you. I think you worry to much about gaining the weight back. You have learned alot about eating well over the past months. Manatee, I am so sorry for the hard times you have been going through. Hope it will all be better now. You have done so well. My thoughts are with you. Mini, sorry for your loss. Sounds like your life is very busy also. Hang in there. I will write more later, have to get back to work. Hang in there all Laura

SUE - YOU GO GIRL!!!!!!!! I bet you look great. I am having a stressed day today. I am in a training program with my job (Fed Gov) and I am presently working in an office that is over 3 hours from my home. I have a place I stay here during the week so I do not have to make that commute daily (that would be crazy). Any way, my DH is down with the flu, you would think he is dying by the way he sounds. He is a big baby when he is sick, but he is my baby. Well, I was going to try to get out of here early today and go home, but now my boss has the flu, and called in and asked me to stay late to cover his appointments. I am the only one in the office, the tech has been out all week with the flu also. I did get a flu shot, but so did my DH, the Doc said this is a diffrent stran. Great....... I am going to get a face mask and lysol, hand jell.....I do not want this thing. Take care all Laura

Melissa : I was in Wal-Mart today and noticed the same thing. Men all standing in the card isle, too funny. It is so wonderful that you are too small for Lane Bryan!!!! congrats! Weazer : I am with you on the spandex thing. I never leave home without it. My doc also said it would help with my skin not sagging so much. Kinda like what your bra does for you. My skin can go back (as much as it will at my age) in place if it is supported. Pluse the spandex helps my clothes look and fit better. Sue: Way to go on the size 12 jeans. You go girl!!!! Oh, the scales have been kinda slow moving lately. So I have been working real hard to keep to the rules and exercise etc. I was determined that I was going to see 167 this week. Been at 168 for two weeks now. Got on the scales yesterday morning and .... 166.... yea....I was happy, just by-passed that old 167. I am happy to see the scales move again. (I guess cutting out the ice cream makes a big diffrence, "Ya Think" DUH!!!) Take care all, Laura
-
Carol I agree with what Sue said, try drinking hot tea or even hot broth first. It helps me slow down. Also I have hear of something called the "First bite syndrom", I think it is where the first few bites cause problems, then after that you are okay. Just remeber to go slow, chew, chew, chew.... and then chew some more. Hope it gets better for you! Laura

OMG Manatee, I am so sorry to hear about you having a prolapsed stomach. If you have it replace, just think, you get to do that wonderful round of liquids, muchsies. That will pull those last 6 pounds off fast. Just take care of yourself!!! Laura
-
Hello All..... Been a long time since I checked in. Work has been crazy. Sure miss everyone here. Manatee - WOW 100 lbs, so sorry about the ulcer problem, Hope you get better real soon! Sandra - you are doing so Great! Don't give up on your weight loss, you have been there before, it will come off, just give your body time. Melissa - OMG I can relate with the public PBing thing. I was at taco bell with some work people and we were sitting at one of the corner round booths and I was sitting on the inside. I got stuck and I could'nt even ask the person next to me to let me out for fear of barfing on her. Luckly I had a big napkin and nobody was looking. Then I just pretended that I was coughing, and excused myself to the bathroom. Not a pretty thing. Weazer - Sounds like you are you too tight. Hope things are going better for you? Sue11 - How are you doing? 99 lbs gone, So happy for you!!!! Way to go. As for me, well, I am back on the wagon. HI, my name is Laura and I am a Ice Creamaholic. I have decided I have to give it up. I can't just eat a little bit, I will not stop until I finish what ever I have in the house. So I have been clean for over two weeks. And guess what? The weight has started to come off again. Duh! Guess what I figured out...... Even if it is "Healthy Choice Ice Cream" if you eat the whole gallon, it is no longer a "Healthy Choice"!!!!! Take care all........ Laura

WAY TO GO TwinMommy........... I am so happy for you. The scales are not moving for me very much. I had a little tummy bug yesterday. Was not able to eat much, just broth and SF pop cycles. Got on the scales thim morning and ..... nothing lost. OH well, I just keep reminding myself, this is for the rest of my life!!!

HELLO Everyone!!!! I sure do miss this place when I can't check in and post. Had to out of town on business and no way to check email etc. Everyone seems to be doing well. I am just taking it one day at a time. I need to be better about exercising, gettin in my water most days. Hot tea (de caff) in the evenings now seems to be my favorite thing. Helps to get the fluids in and helps to stop the TV munchies (if you know what I mean). NSV - went shopping for some new pants yesterday. I bought a size ----drum roll please ------------ "8".......... I know I could not believe it, I asked the sales lady if maybe they were sized wrong. She said No. They are a little tight, didnt care, put them on when I got home and just strutted around the house. I sure can be silly sometimes. Sandra - you are doing so GREAT. My family and friends do not know about me having the band, and they have noticed that I eat diffrently also. They try to push food at me, they just don't understand...... I have not room for it, and if I force it in, they will get it back (in a way they might not like) LOL Take care all Laura

Sandra - I think we have the same SILs. I have to very thin SILs, they have alway been snooty. At christmas this year, all they had to say was "Your new hair do is very nice" not one comment about my weight change. How do you not notice someone has lost over 50 lbs? Oh well.......... Thanks Metal.... I just love the support we give each other here. Well back to sipping on the water........ Laura
-
Thanks Weazer........Yes my sweet DH loves me Thick or Thin.....I don't want to prove anything to the X, just look better than her. I know he loves me, no question about that. You know I am not normaly this shallow, but, keeping the meeting of her in mind sure helps me stay on course.

Yesterday was a good day for me also. Used weights, arm curles, lunges and knee bends (thighs are talking to me about it today) Did my sit ups YEA, 100 total. Today is good so far, working on my first round of Water, 33 oz bottle. Almost got it down. That is always my goal before lunch. Having Healthy Choice Soup for lunch and salmon for supper tonight. NSV - I can fit into size 10 pants, and still breath, and no muffin top. I am so excited. OH and bought a Medium size sweather yesterday, and it FITS. OH I also have additional motivation. Found out the my DH's daughter (from previous marriage) is graduation from college in May. I have never met the X-wife, and she will be at the graduation. So, I must look HOT, I mean real HOT. So that is my motivation to drink my water, exercise and to not eat junk food. X-Wife eat your heart out, I will be some kind of arm candy for my DH come May. Take care all, Laura

Happy New Year Everyone!!! I love my Band!!! I had my 3rd fill on December 14th, and boy did it kick my fanny for a few days. I was worried I was too tight, but after a few days of liquids things were better. Christmas was a hard, all of that food, thanks God I my band was snug and I just could not eat that junk. I committed myself to only eat good food. I made it (only had a few bites of lemon ice box pie) and I lost 5 lbs. I am so happy. Sandra I am on board with you. I am trying so hard just to focus on why I got this band in the first place. Why I fought my insurance company and went to so many doctors vists. I want so bad to reach my goal by my one year date. Good Luck Everyone, 2008 will be the best year yet!!!! Laura

Happy Holidays All!!! I went to the Doc for a fill last Friday, it is kicking my butt. I now have 2.6 in my 4cc band. I was having a problem with very little restriction before the fill, I thought I had 2.5 in my band. When he pulled out the saline it only showed that I had 2. He said that they must of written it down wrong. But would keep a close watch on it to see. Hope I don't have a leak. He said he did think so, since it was July when I had my last fill, if I had a leak it would all be gone by now. That made me fell better. But boy do I have restriction now. I am really have to work the banster ways of eating, because I just cant eat much at all now. So have to make the most of my intake. Oh I read a very interesting article in one of WLS while waiting in the waitingroom. It made a comment that stuck me, "When you are about six months out from having the surgery, you realise that the Honeymoon stage is now over. The wonder days of loosing the first 30-50 lbs without much effort is over. Now is the time that you have to come to the conclusion that you and your band are equal partners, and it is time for you to do your part......." That is so where I am at now, I am working on doing my part, the band will not do it all on its own. Merry Christmas Everyone Laura

Sue, WOW you are do GREAT!!! Thanks for the info. I like using fit day also. Your weight loss is wonderful. I have been stuck for the past 6 weeks or so. I have 2.7 in my 4cc, going for another fill next Friday. Hope that it gives me a little booste, I do fine during the day while I am at work, but at night when I am at home it is a diffrent story. I am trying to change my way of life at home. Working out, keeping my hands busy etc. Take Care Laura
