Today Is My One Year Surgiversary...
Justine13 replied to Lissa's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Congratulations to you and all of your hard work! -
Has anyone tried the Unjury chicken broth flavor? No offense to the company (because I plan to buy the unflavored protein powder) but that had to be the most God awful stench ever. I smelled it and gagged. So I thought "well I'm always such a picky eater" so I had my coworker smell it. She gagged. Wondering what other's opinions are and other suggestions? I don't want to get sick of the protein shakes (so far is all I like). I do plan to use the unflavored to add to sf jello etc though...

I was so excited to meet my surgeon today who comes from Vanderbilt - I was telling her about this forum and although supportive of the support, she warned me only to be careful about the advice on food etc. I was telling her about some posts that concern me at times with people eating various things at various stages that just doesn't sound right. Of course- listen to your own doctor but- the thing I took home was this: "the reality is- if you follow what I say you will be fine. The other reality is techincally- you can survive on the liquid phase post op forever if you 1) get your Protein 2) multi Vitamin and 3) Water. Those are the most important things and those are my goals in terms of intake and quantity. So- the message to me was not to rush anything- focus on this and follow what she says and there will be no problems with my eating causing problems. Makes perfect sense to me

I won't share my story with my gall bladder surgery but I would ask your VSG surgeon if it's too soon or not? I know the attacks wont go away and they are yucky

Met with the doc today. Love her! I was able to set my date for September 12. Those who have heard me talk about this I was hoping for the 10th and it would have been cool to get it since I wanted it for the past six months. I could have had it if I wanted afternoon surgery but the doc and I both agreed that this would not go over well with me and my already anxious and neurotic self. Pre op diet is 48 hours. I think I may do 7 days. Maybe not. ummmmm. Oh they sent me over for more labs, my EKG (healthy ticker) and chest x ray. All set to go. The best part (besides the weight loss) is 4 weeks off of work. Love her even more than I did the first time I said it Yey!!!!!! WARNING: I will be (and I mean this in The most sincere way) a complete basket case that morning. Those poor poor nurses
