    Hard time walking

Before my hysterectomy I was extremely short of breath because I was extremely anemic. I also craved ice which I found out was also a sign of anemia. I hope you feel better soon.

    Secret Surgery

I had my surgery in July,2013. I told my family and close friends. Two of my brothers are physicians and are very supportive. I think everyone saw this as saving my life. Now just about everyone at work knows, but they too have been very supportive. Some of the support has come from unexpected places. I feel truly blessed. Good luck with whatever you decide.
  3. When did you stop needing to use your c-pap machine? How could you tell? I know you need to have a sleep study to determine if you no longer need a c-pap machine, but I don't want to get one too early.
  4. I would check with your doctor but don't wait too long. I did and ended up with in the er with a severe bowel impaction. I now take stool softeners and miralax if I need to. Good luck!

Sippy cups and baby spoons really helped me with small sips and bites:).

    Pre-op question...?

I started having a protein shake for breakfast pre-op. The 2 week pre-op diet was still tough but I think this change helped. Good luck with your journey.

    july 24 2013 surgery

I had my surgery on 7/23 and have no regrets. I can't believe how much is different in just 6 months! I still have a ways to go but am amazed at how much better I feel. The anxiety about fitting into booths, walking and being short of breath, etc. is gone. I can't even imagine what it will be like when I get to goal.

    Hiccups?

I get them too but there is no pattern. It sometimes happens after I eat but sometimes happen when I haven't eaten or drank anything. If it happens when I am eating, I do take it as a full signal.
  15. I'm down 100 pounds! Now I know what it feels like instead of just dreaming about it .
  16. My husband couldn't find me in the store. He said I blended in with everyone else. He never had a problem finding me before surgery .

    December Surgeries!?!?!?

It really does get better as time goes on. During the first couple weeks I felt awful and regretted the surgery. Now at almost 5 months I feel great and feel like I'm actually living and not just existing. Hang in there. It will get better!
  19. Congrats! That's awesome! I'm down 88lbs and trying to hit a 100 by 1/3/14. I was getting hungry about three weeks ago. Had the stomach growling and everything. So I bumped my Protein up to 90-100g a day and that stops it from happening. I can't always hit that much but when i do I don't get the tummy growling thing! Thanks I'm going to try that.

    Rny And Arthritis

I also have arthritis and the weight loss has helped tremendously. I have never taken steroids for it but was on meloxicam for years before the surgery. I am allowed to use voltaren gel but have only needed to use it a couple times. Good luck with your journey whatever decision you make.
  21. Down 94 pounds and looking forward to hitting 100. I now have lost more then I need to lose which feels like a milestone. I'm finding that I can eat more then I used to and I definitely get hungry. Is this happening to anyone else? It makes me nervous.
