    Looking for buddies/mentors in Ohio

Hello- Akron Ohio here. I'm hoping to have surgery in June.
  7. Thank you! This really does help. I'm hoping for a surgery date in May but it will most likely be June.
  8. What do you think is different this time?
  9. So sorry you are struggling. I stress eat so I'm sure it will be a challenge when I am on the pre op diet. You can do this. Try to think about the purpose of the preop dieti.e. shrink liver, etc.

    June Dates (class of 2013)

I was hoping for May but my surgeon's office said that would probably be a stretch. I will most likely get a June date.
  11. Hi everyone I had my egd this week and was told I have a hiatal hernia that will be repaired at the same time. My surgeon said it would add 20 to 30 minutes to the surgery. Has anyone had this and has it affected your recovery? Thanks

Sport autocorrect. I meant meloxicam ( Mobic)
  13. Hi everyone. I'm scheduled for my egd on monday and misplaced my paperwork. Did you have to stop melodic am before it? If so for how long? What about voltaren gel.? Any info is appreciated. I called the md office 2 xs and got two different answers. I don't want to get there and have him cancel. Thanks

    Vitamin D deficient

For the stress tests I've had they put an IV in and then you wait about 45 minutes for the med to go through. They then take pictures and you wait again. They had us eat crackers and drink water while you wait. Then you go on the treadmill or have the med. and you wait again. That's when they wanted me to eat and drink caffeine. Back in for more pictures and then you are finished. Bring something to read. It's always harder when you are not sure what to expect.

    Vitamin D deficient

One thing I forgot to mention is you are only on the treadmill for a very short time ( I think 10 minutes or less). There is a lot of waiting during those 3 hours.

    Vitamin D deficient

I was also told I my vit. D is low and am taking a supplement. I have LBBB so I was not allowed to walk on the treadmill (it can mess up the results). I was really worried about this, but it really was no big deal. After the test before the final pictures, they told me to eat and drink caffeine. I was fine by the time I left. The tech told me they now use a different med. which doesn't give you the same feeling the other one did. It will be ok.

    Optifast Diet

MissTiff- are you on shakes only? I know I will be on 2 weeks of Optifast but can have bars and soups. I am worried about being hungry all of the time.

    Sleep Apnea

-what happens when the pressure is too high? I'm just wondering how I will know when I need another sleep study. I'm still preop but was wondering if people usually slowly decrease pressures or end up going from a higher pressure to not needing it at all.
