  1. Dear Rainy Girl, Sorry to hear you are having so much problems. I do know that I had pain in the middle upper back for several months which they said was from the hiatal hernina surgery. Did your iv come out during surgery? He expected me to have a lot more problems after surgery and take longer to recover from the surgery than my daugthter who had the bypass, the outcome was switched. It is most likely the hernia surgery that is causing your problems. Just don't overeat and although we were told not to drink when eating, I found in the beginning if I took a sip of tea or water when I ate, it helped the food to go down. Do not have to do that now. If the vomiting still keeps happening and you are in pain, go to the ER so they can xray you and see what is going on, on the inside. We will be praying for you. Sally

    Losing Slow At Very Beginning?

I am totally in the same boat as everyone here. I thought because I was heavier then my daughter (she had the gastric by-pass the same day I had the gastric sleeve) that I would lose more pounds then her in the beginning months. Not so. We had surgery May 25, 2012 and this week I have really been at a stand still. Eating the same, drinking my water, admit I need to do more exercise. I will drop a lb one day, nothing the next, and then pick that lb back up the following day. It really depresses me. I am trying to climb out of this depression, spent some time outside yesterday afternoon floating in the pool and reading, cleared my head and I did feel much better. Maybe I should eat more. I just don't want to stretch my stomach, I have such a fear of doing that and gaining back all of the weight after a year. I am going to try eating more protein, but then I won't have room for all of the wonderful veggies that are on now from our garden. I am going to try to start walking some and exercising in the pool, maybe that will help. Thanks for listening.
