Frustrated....what happened to my support???

Glad to hear things are getting better. It's best when you have the support. -
Hospital stay and recovery time?
lmmore replied to AutumnLily's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
2-3 days is average. I would not have been ready to go back to work until after two weeks (if I didn't have other health problems). But alot depends on each individuals surgery, health, and age. At 59 it took me a little longer to feel good. -
I have had it happen to me, only once. It's awful. I make sure that I do not over eat. I know my stomach can hand 3 or 4 oz. but i only go to the 3oz to be sure. Measure the correct amounts in a measureing cup, and then see how it fills your bowls and plates. I use a salad plate and never have it more than half full. hope that helps.

healing after the vertical sleeve

Good question. -
Will I need help at home?
lmmore replied to Fatherjonz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, you will be able to walk up your stairs. I have 32 stairs and managed. But, you will be weak, and if you can have anyone stay with you for a few days, it would really help you i think. -
I am so sorry for your wife. It's good that you are on top of it, to make sure this gets fixed. I will keep her in my prayers. It may be awhile, but she will get better, and this must be so much stress on you. Hang in there. If you need to vent, this is the place for it. Best wishes

Hi Angie, just checking in to see if you are okay? Rested? -
Thanks Susan. I will work to make sure to keep my opinions/issues private.

Best of luck to all of you! You have made a good decision, and I can tell you've done your research. The thought of this procedure is actually worse than the reality. You still have a regular stomach, only smaller. It appeals to me that I can take all of my medications knowing they will be absorbed properly. That I don't have to worry about some foreign object moving or slipping down my stomach. And, all the issues surrounding the gastric by-pass. The sleeve is great. Just my personal opinion. I am looking forward to welcoming you all to the losers bench. :001_cool:) -

Congrats to you both. It's great that you are doing this together. You both understand what each other are going through, and meals must be easier. -

Everyone's doctor is aware of the special needs of each patient, and there is a reason for the diet plans as they are. People not adhering to these guidelines could really hurt themselves. It's always best to err on the safe side. Oh, and by the way, I am not part of some conspiracy of people that think that they outnumber you. That is just plain paranoia. sleeved on May 11th-issues with protein
lmmore replied to Mommydog14's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I drink the ISOPURE pre-made drink. It's like a tart Kool Aid, you can buy at GNC. 40 Grams a bottle, zero carbs. I drink half a bottle a day. I also have Pure Protein Premade Frosty Chocalte shake. 35 grams of protein 4 g carbs. I heat it in the morning and it's just like hot cocoa. Between these two drinks i get 55 g of protein, before I even start eating. Best of luck -
Try not to worry. See how how your body manages to shrink. If it doesn't to your liking, you can always get a breast reduction.

That amount of Pork Rinds won't bother you. But let this be a warning, that you need to follow what your doctor's plan is for you to eat. Goodlife is right, you need to give time for your tummy to heal, and that's 6 weeks minimum. And even then, you should wait on eating raw vegatables and dense meats.

Yeah, you do not want to take diarhetics right now. You could suffer dehydration. -

Talk me down -- leak?
lmmore replied to ouroborous's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try not to worry too much. I know easier said than done. But, you've read everyone's experience and all of this is pretty normal. We all have in the back of our minds the worry of a leak. But it does no good to worry about it.......and the percentages are so low. -
Very small amounts of food-normal?
lmmore replied to MinOhio's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
by two weeks, you should be able to eat more than a teaspoon, and you should be able to get your liquids in. I suggest calling your doctor if you cannnot eat. It was hard for me to get all that stuff in, in the first two weeks, but I was able to eat a jar of baby food, or a SF jello, etc. -
question please..
lmmore replied to shezaditz@bellsouth.net's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My gut was painful for a while because my doctor said they did a lot of poking in me. I was borderline for not being able to do laproscopic. They did it, but it was tight in there. You have to remember they put a lot of instruments in there to make this happen, and move a lot around in there. This is not just a snip snip procedure. It's only been 4 days......you'll get better everyday. If you don't feel a little better by Monday, see your doctor, or go to the ER. But what you're stating is pretty common. -

probably. what's your temperature? That is one of the first signs? -
Not losing much - really freaked out about failing
lmmore replied to Genesis1's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
A PPI reduces the hunger, are you on Prilosec or nexium? Often people get hungry if they have eaten carbs. Are you getting 60-70 grams of protein? Are you drinking 64oz of water? Stalls are common in the 3rd week. I went 9 days without losing a lb, but i just hung in there. Be patient if you follow the rules, it will work. Best of luck -
how long did you stay in the hospital?
lmmore replied to mommytoethan's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was in 2 1/2 days. Which is just about right. I dislike hospitals, and recuperate better at home. -
No, but it happened to me a long time ago with another operation.....went away after a few weeks.
