In bathroom seems every hour
lmmore replied to Driver63's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's right. You had your stent and leak. That tells me you body is probably starting all over again with a new poop schedule. I know it's frustrating but try and be patient. See if stool softners or benefiber help. Call your doctor first, and see what he/she says. -
didn't they give you guidelines and recommendations? Here is one, but check with your doctor: http://www.bethesda.med.navy.mil/patient/health_care/surgery_services/bariatric_surgery/bariatric%20nutrition%20guide-sleeve%20gastrectomy.pdf

I miss KFC, I miss Ravioli and meatballs, I miss popcorn (although i understand I will be able to have it in a couple of months)

coffee, sugar, carbs, can influence your hunger. Also, are you getting all your protein in, because that reduces your hunger. and of course drinking 64 oz of water. Best of luck

The Inevitable "I'm Not Losing Fast Enough" Thread
lmmore replied to ouroborous's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It will happen. People lose at different rates and have stalls at different times. In the end they all lose if they follow their doctors guidelines and recommendations. -
Think I had my first tummy bug since VSG
lmmore replied to TennJenn's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Do you think there was something in your stomach that wasnt' digesting maybe? -
Is this really better than band?
lmmore replied to sam30204's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Also, with the sleeve you absorb all your minerals and nutruients, which isn't so with the band and RNY. You have less chance of anything getting stuck in your stomach. The part of the stomach that has been removed, is where the Ghrelin hormone is produced, so without it, you have no or little hunger. And most importantly, you have an intact pyloric valve that works the same as it did before surgery. -
Constipation?

Try a laxative, and add benefiber to your liquid intake. -
Having second thoughts
lmmore replied to texaschick's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So Texaschick, are you going on that long long long diet, or are you going to sleeve it? -
Is VSG right for me?

Tiffykins has the best rearch on this for you. PM her, and I am sure she will send it to you. Or, you can do search on this website. -
Alli, is a lower strength OTC version of Orlistat. I have taken Orlistat in the past, with little benefit. It is taken with each meal and is supposed to allow 30% of the fat you eat to pass through your system undigested. There are concerns about the impact this med has on your liver. Since we are already on a low fat plan with our procedure, I don't see the benefit of using this drug after having been sleeved. But, maybe others have more experience with it. Also, if you eat more than 30% fat, you will have oily leakage on your underwear.

Yes, this really is better than the band. -
11 days out - stomach doesn't feel restricted
lmmore replied to frisky's topic in Food and Nutrition
Tiff brings up a real good point. I didn't realize you were eating so much. 3-4 oz is what you are supposed to have max each meal. If you are putting more in there, like twice as much, that could be a real strain on your newly stapled stomach. Mention that to your doctor, I would be curious as to what his opinion is. Good luck. -
Great news Champ. This must be a bit of a relief for you. It's going to be okay. Deep breath.

Hey Champ, How's she doing today? Did they get things under control?

Constipation?
lmmore replied to shezaditz@bellsouth.net's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ask you doctor, I don't think you should go that long without a BM. 3 days is my max before I take something for it. -
new here and thinking of getting sleeved..
lmmore replied to latoya79's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I think the sleeve is the best option, but that is me. I heard awful stories with the band, and the RnY. Tiffykins has a lot of research on this. do a search, or PM her. She's the best. -
I don't understand your post to me. I am six weeks out, and I only eat what my surgeon has recommended. I am looking forward to the day when I can eat dense meats and raw vegatables. Although this stage is a hell of a lot better than the liquids only stage. )

11 days out - stomach doesn't feel restricted
lmmore replied to frisky's topic in Food and Nutrition
LISTEN TO EVERYONE! Your stomach is healing right now....this is a very different procedure than you had before. Tiffykins had a revision from lapband to sleeve, and she can explain in detail what she went through. You have a great opportunity here with this tool. Don't sabotage it. -
Four Days Out....I Survived!!!
lmmore replied to knoxmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It might be your pylora...with this operation your digestive system works pretty much as it did before. The pyloric valve works and release food into your small intestines. You have a very new and tender stomach, and you can feel things more at first. All that gurgling as your new tummy gets used to things. For the first six weeks, it is a time for healing, and you're doing great with your liquids. It's great that you had no complications. Best of luck. Do what your doctor says, and you will be fine. Welcome to the losers bench. -
My consult is tomorrow....
lmmore replied to kalex21211's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Best of luck with your consult ) -
Just keep on your diet, and try to lose as much as you can. This will help you post surgery. If your liver is too hard to handle they will open you up to do the procedure, rather than laproscopically. Now that I have you scared, don't worry. I seldom ever hear of them not doing it laproscopically. A heavy liver just makes it harder on them. Best of luck, and this week try hitting 3 out of 4 days )
