I went to see Paul MacCartney Saturday and there wasn't a restaurant around that wasn;t full. I was so hungry I ate a hot dog at the venue. I have no idea what type it was. But it filled me up just fine, with no repercussions. I don't intend to make a habit of it though. )

The first month after the surgery----I need answers
lmmore replied to TX HS FB Coach's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't feel good for the first week. At all. Then I was tired for a couple weeks after that. It just depends on your body. -
Leaks - when can you breathe a sigh of relief?
lmmore replied to momof3girls's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor told me you don't have to worry after 3 or 4 weeks.. The problem is, that sometimes it takes a long time for someone to notice a leak. That;s why there are stories of 4 & 7 months post op. -

lmmore replied to sickofrollercoaster's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Good for you Angie. You must be proud. You looked mighty fine before the weight loss, so I imagine you will have a very busy and happy summer. -

lmmore replied to exnavy82's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
San Francisco here. I went through Kaiser So. SF. -
beans/chilli, applesauce, baby food, canned chiken, crackers, scrambled egg, hard boiled egg, etc.
-
I just found out today, that my doctor used a 40 fr. that's a Kaiser standard evidently. He also said it's to not restrict intake too much.

what size sleeve are you?
lmmore replied to melinekesh's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just saw my surgeon today for a 3 month followup. Big shocker. I found out he uses 40 Bougie. He said all Kaiser facilities use a 40. I was surprised, and he told me that they don't want to restrict too much, and that is why they use this size. He told me not to worry about stretching, that I will be fine. Interesting though. It might explain why some of us have an easier time eating than others. -
It's Friday and I am Overweight!!!

Great job Angie. And it will only get better ) -
Is the acid reflux permanent?
lmmore replied to steve-o's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Talk with your doctor. In your case, it sounds like you should continue taking the PPI. I don't plan on weaning myself off until a full year. It helps minimize any hunger and prevents the heartburn I was having prior to surgery. Some people here have been successful on weaning themselves off of them. Your doctor would be the best one to advise you. Good luck. -
How are you doing Kathy? What has the doctor suggested for you? I hope all is well.

You can heat the pure protein frosty chololate shakes, and it tastes just like hot cocoa. 35 grams of protein with only 4 carbs. You can buy at GNC or Trader Joes. They are premade in cans.

Go on a diet to lose the weight before surgery. It's better if you can lose 10-20 lbs on your own. You have a full two months to calm down and get prepared. it will be fine. You will be fine. Best of luck.

Lap band or Gastric Sleeve???
lmmore replied to Mommato4's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Do yourself a favor. DON"T GET BANDED. The sleeve is great. It's still your real stomach, only smaller, and you lose the hunger, which you don't get from the other procedures. Read this site.......you won't be sorry. -
very disappointed in this site
lmmore replied to mp8btpc's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I also did not see your post. I am not on every day. I would surely have responded if I had. I am so sorry. This site is a wonderful place for support. As was said earlier, you would have gotten alot of responses if it was titled "I almost died last night". I wish you the best, and hope you don't give up on VSG. It is the best thing I ever did for myself. -
I am so sorry for you. But you will make it through this! We will save a spot for you on the losers bench. Just don't give up. The Prilosec will work. I went through the same thing, but my doctor caught it a month before surgery, so I didn't have to go through the emotional rollercoaster you've been on. Best of luck.

Good luck Carole. Have you thought about getting a second opinon? It must feel awful to put this off.

20 years old, never had a boyfriend.

Sbrinham, you will be so sassy in a few months. Losing the weight gives you a lot of confidence, and with that, the guy's will follow. Don't worry. You are in for a big suprise, just don't get too cocky when your that gorgeous thin chick. ) -
San Francisco here I come.....
lmmore replied to lootzie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Best of luck Julie. But you have Dr. Jossart, so you are like in the best hands. Good for you, and welcome to the losers bench. Les -
Uncharted waters-letting go and moving on
lmmore replied to citygal's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I have always had a theory that the happiest you can be is "happily" married, and the most miserable you can be is "un-happily" married. Where happy and un-happy single fall between the two. I am happy for you to move out of that miserable state. Divorce is the hardest thing to go through, whether your the leavor or the leavee. You are on your way to starting your journey to a better life. Good for you, and best wishes. -
Folks - I am really scared of VACATION!!!
lmmore replied to sickofrollercoaster's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Lighten up Angie! You are going on vacation. Enjoy yourself. You have very good habits established already, but your life has been quite hard this year. Let off some steam. Forget about the husband and let your worries go. That's what vacations are for. You can pick up where you left off, when you return. You deserve to have some fun....gurl. -
Having surgery tomorrow 6/29
lmmore replied to lillita's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Best of luck. We're saving room for you on the losers bench. -
Rest is the best. Walking is good for the gas. Be sure to drink you liquids so you don't get dehydrated, and you will be fine. It gets better every day. It took a lot of guts for you to do this by yourself. The first week was really rough for me. When I got home I couldn't get comfortable in any position. It took me longer to heal only because I am in my fifties and I have had heart and back surgeries. I will have one more back surgery in October, and after that, I should be fine. Does your hotel have a gift shop? they might have prilosec, or nexium in the gift shop. Worth checking into. Take care, Les

Oh me oh my - why no restriction??
lmmore replied to odanielle's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I know I sounded harsh, but i really don't want you to ruin your new stomach. Cherries, I mean really. Cherries? I couldn't digest thoughs very well, before I lost 80% of my stomach. It sounds like you don't have much to lose. If you take a PPI then you shouldn't be hungry. Tiff was right, you were grazing, but it sounds like you have no intention of doing that regularly, so best of luck. -
